ok..this is something..but has anyone put it to work and measured the sound levels? i would for sure use another psu if their sounds like a helicopter. 60 db is ok if this is true.

I use an HP 750W server PSU with my A9 and set the performance setting to "performance." (No other setting changes.) My sound meter shows a constant 49 db for the A9 and PSU together. Put another way, this thing is really quiet.
When it first boots up, it is loud because the fan ramps up to 100% or something. But then it settles down to 15% and the 49 db level.
Transactions must be included in a block to be properly completed. When you send a transaction, it is broadcast to miners. Miners can then optionally include it in their next blocks. Miners will be more inclined to include your transaction if it has a higher transaction fee.

I hate be negative but man...I have to ask.

Are we all idiots for thinking mining is a good business? I am almost embarrassed by my stupidity.

I believe I was seduced by the pretty numbers. But none of it is profit until the miners are paid off completely...

Looking at the data for the last three months for this miner, I have my doubts if I will even be able to return the investment I made to buy the 5 miners before it no longer makes sense to mine b/c of the cost of electricity and rent.

It's sad to me to think I am looking forward to breaking even and forgetting about all this instead of actually churning some profit.

What is the point of mining? I can see the point if you can afford to buy 100 units on the first day they come out...but I don't think that's anyone here on this forum.

Any optimism or hope or reason you can send my way?  Undecided

I am nearly break even. So either BTC (because I exchanged) has to go up or September mining should be over 30-40$, then I think I am fine. But still: You are right, it is not the crazy profit you would expect. But we had a bear market. Imagine we mined like this 1 year ago.

The first price was $10,000 USD for 1 and MOQ was 1 unit. Quickly after, coupon came to get another for $2,500. I had to pay massive 30% customs fees for those first as well.

I have had all 5 online before August. Started June 22.

How are you almost break even already?

ah that must have been killer (the fees)
Inno continually sucks with their ridiculous initial prices -- they had a good deal until ZEC announced they are too lazy to fork ($5000 buy one get one)

She gives her 2c on the Z9 mini vs the Z9 vs the Inno A9 and how she made her crypto investment back on the z9 mini already

Nearly break even. I also did not have to pay that much fees. But better than with my one Antminer B3 I bougt or the X3.

New Firmware 20180828 available (didn't try it).
Here's hoping it will solve the memory reboot/shutdown issue. I was an early adopter of the last firmware version and was disappointed that it didn't fix that. If anyone tries this one, please report. Thanks!

Tried on one miner. Installation hangs at 92%. After power off and on everything normal on old firmware. I dont know if it was a one time problem.
Also filesize is the same as old firmware. Maybe its just a reupload again.

Report from a Discord thread about the new firmware:
"Tuning is way different on new firmware. Unless I didn’t notice this before, we now have balance, balance ++,factory, performance-, performance, and performance+. Tuning to performance+ now. I was getting a steady 52Ksol at factory."

i got the new performance tuning options with the new firmware.

I set to performance+ mode. But i havent been running for long and needed to pool hop.

intesting things
1. VID (Voltage seems to be default to 175 in performance+). I think I saw 166 on my first boot but im not sure the settings i had.

2. Also, new setting!

   "T1adjust": "3"

in cgminer.conf.  I REALLY want to play with this number!! But I thought I would try my units on this new "performance+" with no tweaks, get some sleep, and see if I can notice a difference.

3. Spi errors seem to be gone.

4. There's a little info that may apply to A9's in the cgminer GIT. like factory mode = noauto mode. Going to try and fish out whether this active developement on cgminer source relates to A9's when im more rested.
https://github.com/ckolivas/cgminer/blob/master/NEWS

In all likelyhood Im probably going to bump my 28ksol unit back up to VID=205!! Shocked as it seemed to be getting consistently better rates (0.5-1ksol) this way.
For anyone interested. Ive run VID 195 for a while on this unit. and now VID 205 for ~24 hours but with AC air as a safety net. 35C  Cool
Ive run my 50ksol unit ay VID 185for a bit but didnt notice any gains. maybe even it was a bit slower, but hey, hashes be hard to measure sometimes.
time to sleep..

I managed to update half of my miners with the new firmware. The other half has still the 6th of July version.
With the new firmware I get only 45kSols in Factory mode. Performace+ mode gives me 53kSols. With the 6th of July firmware I am getting 53kSols on any Perfomance settings. I set them to performance, just for the better feeling. Benefit of the old firmware is the faster ramping up to full speed.

So 6th of July compared to the recent firmware seems to be superior in my opinion, except if the new firmware shows less rejects on long term. I will see. Also we will see if they fixed the memory bug.

Yes, nothing is special in this firmware except the low temperature. I turned back to the old firmware.

You are right.
Fan speed is 5-10% higher, Temperature is about 5°C lower.
Power consumption seems 100W higher while ramping up. When max hash reached, it is 10-20W higher with the new firmware. As far as I can tell.
