BTC Guild has them way over priced due to the spike in bitcoin prices
7  Bitcoin / Mining support / Where are the Block Erupters? on: November 20, 2013, 09:33:45 AM
Does anyone know ? I went looking for a pack of 100 block erupters today and couldn't find them anywhere for sale i could hardly even find a 10 pack. I feel like 2 weeks ago they were everywhere. Is there any where I can find a batch of them for a reasonable price. Any help I could get would be great thanks!

9  Bitcoin / Mining support / ASIC 49 port 2.0 usb HUB with minepeon on: November 14, 2013, 11:59:25 PM
I cant seem to find anywhere if any one has tested this? My concern is that it Comm error will start after 25 block erupters. Does anyone know if it works with all 49 ?
10  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: 4/10 block erupters are reporting 50% HW errors! on: November 14, 2013, 03:22:29 AM

As far as I know the rpi supports hubs nestled 1 deep so this SHOULD work. Just in case though, test this setup with a PC or laptop before further troubleshooting as you may just be wasting time.

What are the power supplies rated for? Its possible that you are running it fairly close to the limit or it could be a bad power supply. I'd try running just 2 BE's at a time (one in each hub) to rule out power/hub issues, if they constantly have errors on hub A then hub A is shot, same if B, if no errors on any BE's you put in (2 at a time) then its power.

If its power I'd keep adding BE's one at a time until I found how many I can run without massive amounts of HW errors. I'd also look up ac/dc adapters and get one that is a bit more powerful than the stock unit. Alternatively you can crack it open and solder +5 and GND wires from a computer power supply (red/black) to the bottom of the barrel jack.

It is possible my power supply could being doing something strange i will swap it out with another power strip to see if that will help.

Sure sorry i wasn't very clear. My set up is

Raspberry pi running mine peon >
                                      >a usb linksys wireless card
                                      >D-link 7 port powered hub
                                                                           >D-link 7 port powered hub
                                                                             5 block erupters and a fan
                                                                           >D-link 7 port powered hub
                                                                             5 block erupters and a fan

The Pi doesn't support chained hubs. It's a hardware limitation of its "soft" USB controller. And, worse, your 7 port hubs probably daisy chained internally.

 Okay then what should i do about it? Also why does this same set up seem to work for other people for instance whonesta's set up in this form https://forums.butterflylabs.com/bitcoin-discussion/766-need-your-help-new-linux-mining-distro-raspberry-pi-minepeon-23.html

Can you explain as clearly as possible what the current layout of it all is? Like:

PC>
     unpowered generic 5 port>
                                        49 port USB HUB (49 miners)
                                        Dlink 7 port (5 miners 1 fan)

or something similar? I'm sorry, I'm just having a hard time understanding your current layout.

Sure sorry i wasn't very clear. My set up is

Raspberry pi running mine peon >
                                      >a usb linksys wireless card
                                      >D-link 7 port powered hub
                                                                           >D-link 7 port powered hub
                                                                             5 block erupters and a fan
                                                                           >D-link 7 port powered hub
                                                                             5 block erupters and a fan
13  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: 4/10 block erupters are reporting 50% HW errors! on: November 13, 2013, 07:35:33 PM
I have tried several combinations. When one hub with 5 and a fan or 6 and no fan is plugged in it runs under 1% HW errors. But whenever I start daisy chaining them through a non powered of powered hub the errors show up. Huh
14  Bitcoin / Mining support / 4/10 block erupters are reporting 50% HW errors! on: November 13, 2013, 06:39:14 PM
Hello all i am extremely suck and can't find a solution to this. I know that it is not a heat issue because i have 2 D-link 7 hubs running 5 erupters with a fan on each. Also i am using bfgminer does anyone have any ideas ?
Any help would be a lifesaver i am losse a G/H right now and for small mine like mine that is huge!!

Update:
I was able to bring the HW errors down 10% by changing my miner.config file to :

{
    "algo": "c",
    "api-listen": true,
    "api-port": "4028",
    "expiry": "120",
    "hotplug": "5",
    "log": "5",
    "no-pool-disable": true,
    "queue": "1",
    "scan-time": "60",
    "shares": "0",
    "kernel-path": "\/opt\/minepeon\/bin",
    "api-allow": "W:0\/0",
    "pools": [
        {
            "url": "xxxxxxxxxx",
            "user": "xxxxxxxxx",
            "pass": "yyyyyyyyy"
        }
    ]
}

Now i am getting 40% Hw errors on the same 4 block erupters. Could it be another setting that might be causing the rest of these errors?
15  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Where to start with mining? on: November 13, 2013, 06:24:17 PM
Well i would start with reading a couple guides and learning all the different methods of mining a pick a method that works best for you. Then i would look for a tut on how to set up a mine using your prefered method.
16  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Cant solve HW errors on: November 12, 2013, 08:30:28 AM
What hubs did you upgrade to and i should be fine because i am within my power for that hub it should support 5 erupters and a fan. Please anyone correct me if I am wrong.
17  Other / Beginners & Help / Cant solve HW errors on: November 12, 2013, 07:18:23 AM
Hello everyone I have been lurking on this forms for a couple weeks now and have set up a mine. My problem is that i have 4 block erupters that are giving me 50% HW errors.Lets start with my set up.
I have 10 erupter running in 2 D-Link 7 port powered hubs plus a fan a hub running to anther D-link 7 Port powered hub into a Rasberry Pi that has the latest version of mine peon and a USB wireless card in the another port on the Pi

Okay I will start from the beginning so i had 5 in a D-link 7 powered hub and a fan under other members recommendations. I was using cgminer with no problems. The problems started when i got the second hub and next 5 miners and fan as soon as i tried chaining them in any way I got comm errors. So switched to bfgminer after seeing that it could fix it and it. This solved the comm errors but now i have 4 miners that run 50% HW's. I have tried the BFGminer config file to -S and adjusted the miner.config file with the icarus setting and timing.

Please help as much as possible i am incredibly stuck!
