Oh com'on this has to stop. I hate seeing there are so many scammers using paypal like that. It makes us (People who don't have other medium of trading USD without abusive fees of over 10%) trading impossible. I tried trading twice to buy bitcoin, and both times the sellers refunded the payment not giving me the bitcoins because it was risky for they.
People is too scared of using paypal now because of how many scammers there are.. I pretty much resigned on buying bitcoins with paypal. I'm going to sell services and participate in contests to get some bitcoins, since it is the only way for me to get some.
It pisses me off because I would never dream of doing that to someone else.

Sigh...I apologize for every time I ever grumbled about nobody being willing to let me pay for Bitcoin via PayPal. I put 0.1 BTC up for auction on eBay today and it sold at the Buy It Now price ($105). A buyer by the handle of rainyroads (PayPal name Linda Rust) purchased it.
what was the buyer rating? Does ebay allow only people with rating of say 90+% win your auction? That's the thing - they have 100% feedback rating. The problem that I am finding is that feedback isn't necessarily a true indicator, since you can't change the feedback you give once you've given it. The buyer didn't file the chargeback claim until AFTER I'd given them feedback. Sigh...

I emailed the buyer asking for the BTC wallet address, which they provided. I sent the bitcoin and emailed them back with TrX ID as confirmation. They thanked me, asked me to let them know if I ever wanted to sell additional BTC, and requested that I leave feedback.
AS SOON as I left feedback, I get an email from PayPal that the buyer was initiating a chargeback on the basis of an unauthorized or unintentional purchase. I sent them screenshots of the emails that show that the buyer had to actively provide me with info after the purchase in order to receive the bitcoin, along with proof that they received what they paid for. Hopefully that will be enough.
Of course, I can't change the positive feedback I left on eBay. I reported them to eBay but I don't expect anything significant to happen.
Argh!

You must have misunderstood me. I require the amount for the bitcoin along with the deposit. You will receive your BTC instantly, and your deposit will be returned in 7 days, as long as there is no chargeback.
Sorry I couldn't help. Good luck with Coinbase, lol.
I did, indeed misunderstand you My fault entirely. In that case, I accept your terms. Please IM me your PP email address and I'll reply w/ my BTC address.

I sent you a PM. Hopefully I can help I got your PM - and I appreciate the offer. I am as uncomfortable with the idea of a deposit being held for a week before I am allowed to make full payment for the bitcoin as you are with using PayPal, unfortunately. All I can say is that I have had my PayPal account for well over 5 years and have never charged back anything in that time. I've also used PayPal for several Bitcoin and alt coin transactions via eBay in the last couple of weeks. Believe me, I understand people's concerns about PayPal and that nobody here knows me from Adam. I'll just wait the however many days CoinBase requires, no harm no foul.

Since folks are leery of selling to buyers who want to use PayPal, I'm looking for a reliable escrow service w/ low fees and low minimums.
Any recommendations?
Thanks,
Cynthia
I guess the problem is that you can do chargeback with paypal? Which escrow services do people like to use? Coinbase has received a lot of investment this week. I've used https://bitbargain.co.uk for buying coins, they buy and sell Litecoins as well as bit coins but selling is more difficult and I guess this site is useless if you don't have UK bank account and ID. GAH! This stinks. I guess I'm stuck going through my CoinBase account and waiting the however many days it takes them to clear my transfer. I hate that people would even think to chargeback PayPal payments in order to scam Bitcoin sellers. It ruins it for the rest of us.

Hello,
I want to buy 0.15 BTC via PayPal. This is my first trade on the board, though I have several crypto purchases via eBay. I know that people are leery of PayPal b/c of the chargeback possibility, so please let me know what I can do to help you feel more secure about using PayPal (e.g. talk by phone, etc...).
Thanks!

Looking for a catchy URL for your mining pool, bitcoin community, or other group?
Up for auction is the TLD BitcoinMafia.com. I registered the domain name about a month ago and since I am not doing anything with it, I've decided to sell it.
Starting bid: BTC 0.5 Increments: BTC 0.1
End of auction: 11-16-2013 3:00 pm (EST)
Happy bidding!
Cynthia
