1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Will the Blockchain Endure if Bitcoin goes Bust? on: April 15, 2015, 11:31:45 AM
If Bitcoin dies, would the  Blockchain network  remain distributed and robust ?

I've heard more than a few Wall Street Gurus and Tech Visionaries state that while the Bitcoin concept is unique and interesting, the Blockchain Technology is where the magic happens.
If Bitcoin dies, then a million despondent miners return whence they came, and the distributed nature of the Blockchain is weakened to an unknown degree.

The way I see this, to an average Bitcoin miner, the Blockchain is the lifeblood of Bitcoin and the river from which it flows, but it is consequential to mining Bitcoin, which is the miner's primary objective.  Integrity of the Blockchain is essential for mining to occur. Conversely however, if those who would build new platforms on the Blockchain network were the primary drivers of the Blockchain due to the absence of miners, it would be in their interest to control as much of the Blockchain Network as possible. This would effectively neutralize the incorruptible, distributed nature of the Blockchain.

If Bitcoin dies, will the Blockchain necessarily die with it?

I have just spent 1.5 hours reading to get 10 min worth of legitimate information about the SP20. That is 70 minutes time wasted that I did not want to waste.

I don't care who got a free miner. I don't care who wanted a free miner or who is upset because they didn't. I really don't care about a fledgling barrister trying to flash elementary legal definitions at the world, or the hoard of pack minded "Legends" jumping into the fray at the most trivial hint of impropriety.  Many are Legends in mind (theirs) only.

What I am concerned about is jaded post deletion, arbitrary or inconsistent administrative action, and conflict of interest. If there is any concern (or care) for receding membership or doubt regarding this forum's integrity, you need only read the very informative parent thread and how it was ruthlessly hijacked to know...

"The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants." Of the former there are too few, and the ladder, too many. Written over two hundred years ago and it is surprising how current that quote remains.

Those of you to whom I speak directly, and you should know who you are; resign with honor or live without it. There are only a sparse few who have not seen the taint growing here. Most all of us have seen you operate before, and we see your actions for what they are.

You will also be accused of not being able to do basic math.

When someone says that 1% out of 25 bitcoins is 40%, what would you call it? A math professor?

Luckily everyone can see through a lie like that. It's worse with the things that are believable to newbies and confuse the hell out of them. It's a good thing I don't run Bitcointalk. I would wear out the ban hammer.  Grin

Although I do not know to what discussion you refer, you seem more than willing to step out of the shadows of tenure and take a pugnacious swing at the closest passer by.   So, uhh, what's a guy to do(?), litigatis , i pugnam and I'll point out where you put the dunce cap on and walked right past the painfully oblious reason for the Forrest Gump stat.

If anyone ever said "1% out of 25 bitcoins is 40%", absolutely no one with an intellect equal to or greater than Forrest Gump's would think that statement is a lie. The math in that statement could not hide anything because it makes no sense at all. You can not use gibberish to deceive; the deceiving premise in fact must mean something for it to be incorrectly considered anything.

The statement above must find harbor in one of the following:
1. It was never said
2. What was said was miss quoted
3. Whoever said it was so delirious that when he thought apple, he said Elvis is alive!
4. The statement was uttered by everyone's favorite Forrest Gump like celebrity, the master of "throw it and see if it sticks", and the only person to have more alts than Sibil, none other than .....Really? the Super Shill!
5. Dr. Haribo hasn't been out of the lab since 1999.

Lol .....Really? and his alts are really gonna get their panties in a bunch this time. The boy's skin is as thin as a genuine egg roll wrapper.

So, I tore apart one of my pumps today since it apparently wasn't working ...

I have the dreaded D45 red light and I cannot seem to solve the issue.  I know its not the the thermal paste - successfully changed that on other TMs with no issue.  I used a mechanics stethoscope to listen to the pump and it seems normal, shows a normal RPM on the STATS page but for whatever reason (according to the diags) the cores overheat and immediately shuts down one board.  Tried swapping the connectors, pulling the J11 and a few other things but no luck...

For what its worth, I haven't taken apart the other side of the pump since I didn't have fluid to replace what I would have lost had I done so.  Does anyone know what type of fluid it uses?  Perhaps I'll try that and take some pictures next.

Hi,

I have had 3 radiator  hoses spring leaks over the past few months so this is what I did- and I think it keeps things even cooler than the stock coolers.

To replace a leaky hose, remove the entire radiator / cooling block apparatus. Place it on it's back with hoses facing upward and cut off the leaky hose (you will loose no more than 10 ml of coolant, the precise amount is not important). Go to your local hardware store or Home Depot and buy a length of polyethylene tubing. Its the same hose that is used on your refrigerator ice makers or if you can find what Cointerra used that's ok too but the polyethylene is much, much stronger so it's never going to leak again. Cut the correct length and replace the hose but...

Connect the 1st end to the radiator and before you connect the other end to the block, fill the radiator up with as much "automotive anti-freeze". If you want to dilute the antifreeze with a little distilled water you can but its not necessary as most all antifreeze comes already diluted. After the radiator is filled up with as much antifreeze as will fit, attach the other end of the hose and replace the radiator back in the miner. A few air bubbles are unavoidable and does not affect the miner operation that I can see. My refitted automotive antifreeze miners all run on power level 9 with temps running in the mid to high 50s deg C.

Hope that helps.

As someone who has followed this libelous tour de force (somewhat quietly) since before ....Really? Roll Eyes and his many alts came on scene I can say that assaults of this breadth and ferocity usually have a trail of breadcrumbs leading back to one of the proverbial 7 Deadly Sins, i.e. mammon.

Is it just me or does anyone else get an inkling of broad, high level collusion on a grand, almost antitrust like scale?

-Who profits directly or indirectly from BAN being marginalized?

-Do the profit strings resulting from BAN defamation cross those of this forum?

-How many alts does the person behind ....Really? Shocked actually have?

-Why does striking evidence of a mod going thoroughly sour only produce more BAN attacks?

Just questions for informational purposes only. There does however seem to be a decidedly insufficient level of "like-minded" historical behavior directed towards other pools. When Legends move in unison, you have to ask yourself why... The evidence of BAN improprieties noted in this forum since August '14 does not offer sufficient cause for this to happen, IMO.

Follow the money gentlemen/ladies, if it doesn't lead to the truth, it will lead to who murdered the truth.

Now back to shadow mode for a few months to allow the Anti-BAN alts to attack the shadows. I know you ....Really? and friends. I know who you are and what you are about. Bitcoin is new and fresh, but your false message and contrived insult is as old as the sunrise.

The views and opinion expressed in this post are solely those of this BAN shill/noob and do not necessarily represent or reflect the views or opinions of this website or its sponsors, its agents, and their respective licensees, successors, or assigns.

How does one determine which lead is pos and which neg on the mining board and the PSU breakout board.

Many thanks in advance.

try this,
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=641998.20

Do you mean the pics of the Terraminer interior? The problem is, I have seen different TMs with the pos lead (black wire) in BOTH positions, so a picture alone without data as to where it goes and why is a possible accident, unless you can hook the leads up to either post. Thanks for the input though.

A little help please. Like a genuine dunce, I removed the power cables when building a miner from spare parts and forgot the positioning of the cable leads on both the mining boards and the PSU breakout boards. Now I don't remember where either power cable end goes relative to the other end.

How does one determine which screw is pos and which neg on the mining board and the PSU breakout board.

Many thanks in advance.

.....Really?

A grand speech. Now get off your soap box & explain why it took you so long to get here when everyone wanted to know what the hell was going on.
Then explain where everyone's S3's are.
Then explain why your admin posted fake photos.
Then explain why your admin lied about you having no internet when you obviously did.
Then explain why payouts have been late since day one - or missing completely.
Then explain why bonuses still haven't been paid as promised.
Then explain why you're using owed money to rent rigs without asking the owners of that money their permission, and where the BTC earned with those rigs is going.
Then explain.......etc, etc.

It's about time you came clean on all the bullshit, this is all anyone has asked from the beginning - that you chose to ignore completely.

Now is your chance - don't f*ck it up. Not again.

..."came clean" my ass. He made you look small... very, very, small.
9  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: mining.BitcoinAffiliatenetwork.com - we're giving away 1 Antminer S3 every day! on: September 04, 2014, 10:16:29 PM
I'll gladly donate my 12.5% back to BAN if they institute either a minimum age standard to mine here or a prequalifying psychological stability test. I get the impression that half of BAN admin is working on heating bottles for the crying infants while sObr is making McDonald's Happy Meal runs to feed the adolescent conspiracy brats. (I'm happy...I'm not, I'm happy...I'm not, I'm happy...I'm not, I'm not happy...I am, I'm not happy...I am, I...I...I...)

I can't wait to see what he has for me for continuing to remind everyone that this thread is filled with lunatics auditioning for a part in "The Days of Our Lives".   Roll Eyes Cheesy Cheesy

Just 1 single day of professional, adult dialog without accusing sObr of Grand Theft $2.33, and I'll go back to sleep for another 100 years. Please.

Edit: Well put  sObr, BRAVO!

..........
I fly back tonight and will finish getting through the emails sitting in my inbox. I'm not forgetting anybody....

I will email another status update later today about the contest including a special bonus for everyone who's won because of our delay. It's been a crazy time since the inception but we're going to see it through for many reasons. I've had a wonderful time getting to know some of you and the relationships and future business endeavors are quite exciting. As much as I ask everyone to bare with me (us)... I promise everyone will get attended to and any/all issues addressed as soon as possible...

Hope everyone enjoys the improvements...

Well that is re-assuring. If he was losing 10k a day. Why the flip didn't he figure that out sooner! Any new business I make I would be monitoring 24-7 for these type of issues, for him to let this go isn't anyone's fault but the companies.

I will reserve judgement for now until I hear further his response now that I know he is at least aware and setting up the goal posts so that we can move toward them.

I am so sick of uncertainty, and the "Support" Provoked me today from my point of view after a week of being ignored through my attempts through several official channels to get information. I have PM'd s0br through skype, I had his personal skype, and he has had mine for a week. I don't bother him daily with these questions, nor should I, it was supports job to keep people informed of if s0br had taken any action, or planned to. This alone could have eased my mind a great deal. Instead "Support" ignores me openly, and then further chooses to "ignore" my forum account now, when I was asking questions that any legitimate company / customer would expect.

* On a side note. I wonder what the "special bonus" will be, and if you and I still qualify Aurel57. Time will tell, until then I will hold judgement best I can.
[/quote]

I bet you feel silly, running around yelling;  letting @cathoderay, @....Really, @lobogil, and all the other panic stricken delusionals pull you into that dark place where only they and the Boogeyman live.

NOTE TO ALL: If you have a legitimate issue or concern do one of the following:

1.  Wait patiently (as I am) because you know the pool IS NOT a scam and Ops and Admin can't fix every problem instantly.

2.  Use correct channels provided by Admins to have your problem addressed along with everyone else.

3.  Yell, insult, make legal threats, etc. and it may get you dealt with faster.

DO NOT:

1.  Yell "fear, fire, foe" and the sky is falling, or send the same email 9 times, with the 10th asking if they got the other 9.

2.  Do not move your miners every day or more, then try to do an average and expect meaningful data for a small time frame.

3.  Most importantly, do not let yourself get sucked into the Insanity Pit of Despair by the forum crazies who probably don't mine here anyway. We all know the 4 or 5 that I refer to Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy Wink

There are legitimate ways to have issues resolved, if we all try them we might be surprised! Reason, logic and patience do actually provide a better piece of mind.

No one cares about anything you or the other IDs you are posting under have to say.

All people who win S3 & get nothing care very much!

Anyone who is on the S3 win list & hasn't been contacted or not received anything - please drop me a PM. I'd like to go through a few things with you before going public. Thanks.  Grin

I send you message now......I hope we make these pool keep there promises  Angry

Good Lord, not again.

Edit: I'm writing a screenplay about the daily lives of Bitcoin forum addicts and Pool Operators.

You each get a part.

Good ole' "Sybil... Cheesy Cheesy Wink" gets three parts.

Draft a Confidentially Agreement w/ Non Disclosure Clause and problem is fixed and no one will be the wiser...except  for you.
13  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: mining.BitcoinAffiliatenetwork.com - we're giving away 1 Antminer S3 every day! on: September 01, 2014, 03:05:21 AM
You are right.  This IS becoming BS.  Lets look at the facts:

1. Several people who won FREE S3's have said they got them.
2. I have been charting ALL payouts since the 20th.  Even with two days of bad payouts (caused by the multipool)

Please explain how adding more hashrate can break payouts on a PPS pool.

Bottom line is we are still owed 2.4 BTC to be at 100% PPS, let alone 112.5% that was promised.

It seems that while you & Co. were here, EVERYONE lost coins, you as well. Not sure why though? I'm not a tech guy.
14  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: mining.BitcoinAffiliatenetwork.com - we're giving away 1 Antminer S3 every day! on: August 31, 2014, 09:04:20 PM
Some problems with this pool, yes. But they are all MINOR compared to the vitriol coming from the sidelines. It is a mixture of fabricated hype ( Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy) with easily excited anxiety prone people getting more drawn in than reason dictates.

sObr is well founded to remain extricated from this forum from hell. The pool problems have and will be corrected and his presence here would only throw fuel on a bogus fire.

When I post, ThePhwner is online - he see my post and then is gone - this is not right. He lie about S3's and avoid everyone.  Someone must report these people!!  But how? Who to? If I complain here, someone delete my post - who do this?

I love this guys phony accent. Might this be...umm...    ....Really?  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy switching gears yet again?

If you're not mining here, why do you keep coming back?

Entertainment I guess.

Honest answer, I can't fault you. It is kind of a crazy thread, especially with that ....Really? Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy wack job roaming the halls searching for Elvis and aliens and calling anyone who gets in his way a "sock-puppet".

FRAUD, TRICKERY, and ARTIFICE, OH MY!  or   POTENTIALLY DANGEROUS PSYCHIATRIC DISORDERS  Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy

Having been part of this forum since the beginning, I have been part of the unusual spectacle that has become the Conspiracy Group we all know as ......Really? Cheesy Cheesy Cheesy and cathoderay  Roll Eyes Cheesy Grin and probably others.

He, 1 person 2+ accounts is most certainly one of the following:

1. A paid shill or principal of some other pool or group that views BAN as a direct and viable threat to their continued survival.

2. A spurned ex-lover of sObr's that can't have him, so he/she has vowed to destroy him.

3. A isolated young male probably white, low to mid 20s, college drop out (psychiatric) with an erupting, unmanaged pseudo-narcissistic delusional sociopathy that places him at the apex of the fight to rid the crypto world of scams. He sees himself as the only credible resistance against this threat and as a result, once he has succeeded in his altruistic quest, will have the adoration of all he has saved. Furthermore, if he is continually challenged and mocked without needed medical intervention, this condition may phase into a dangerous psychopathy placing the subject in a position of having to use violence to protect those who he believes show adoration toward him.

I suggest we all kindly ignore this contributor as to not further fuel his anti free market intent or his alarming mental deterioration.

Note: Yes, I only have 10 posts here so by default I am a newb sock-puppet of BAN. Get help friend, you are too valuable to loose.

thx so much BAN admin ! Great Support  . . .

Grow a pair and grow up.

Work with us or shut the fuck up. You're just ranting, ranting, ranting, even when people try to help you.

Sorry the pool isn't your personal BTC faucet. And I'm sure you'll post this on the forums like the whiny little child you are, so please post all of it.

You're a whiner, and a rage-filled idiot. Accept help or shut the fuck up.

Damn, I wanted to say that. Why does everyone else always get the fun stuff?

BAN must be doing something right because there are quite a few non-mining or 24 hour paranoid "gotcha" cleptics coming out of the woodwork!

Wow, now a impetuous 13yr old nit is calling me noob and claiming a Perry Mason proof! I bet he wants to be president someday.

mate how much hash do you have,  Huh?

Ps a few have tried to help ya but ya not really giving them straight answers

As long as you're Aussie I don't mind you calling me "mate". But seriously, my hash rate, really? Is this how you are helping me? This whole Boo-Hiss BAN argument has logical flaws wider than the Pillars of Hercules.

OK, I admit I don't have too much hashing, but I don't think that changes anything. Although I could be wrong- I do only have 10 posts in my entire life. and I have not hit my silver yet, either.

Hashing power: ~6.4Th    I'm getting tired, time for my nap.  Kiss
