It was 900 then I took a 3 hour nap and now its 901.09. Calm down bitcoin, getting a little too crazy now.
6  Economy / Speculation / Re: Current price ~$850... any reason for it to be going down? on: December 13, 2013, 03:37:45 PM
Its not easy to get bitcoins for some people, it took 11 business days for my money to reach an exchange, maybe its easier and faster for some people but i really didnt have many other options besides a  7-10 business day wire transfer.  I miss dwolla, and if you want a large chunk transfered you have to be verified on these exchanges, which also takes time.

Now there were a few typos.  How can I know this is legit and not a scam?
8  Economy / Speculation / Re: A small history lesson on: December 09, 2013, 09:15:53 AM
Just to re-post my entry from the Wall thread:

It's as if this week-end didn't happen for my part.  Undecided

I got out at 880 and went all fiat.

Then, then after a few flush-crashes, I was ready to turn in for the night, and decided not to place a buy order at 550: probably the biggest mistake of this year.
Next morning: 650. Someone here write, that 650 is still a good price to get back in. Yeah, I still expect more down movement and place orders at 550-400
Next morning: 750. This time I small trade between 700 and 750, all the time expecting to flush-crash back down, and place staggered orders at 680-550.
Next morning: 850.

Does anyone see a pattern here?  Roll Eyes Huh

People learn from my mistakes. If you managed to sell before a crash and it looks like the price is already significantly below what you sold for, buy back in and sit tight, don't hunt for that illusive knife's edge.

I am now back in at 880, having made only a small fraction of a bitcoin on minor trades.

Every decision seemed rational and risk-minimising at the time. I don't get that same emotional roller-coaster feelings from trades any more, feeling rather calm.

Searching deep within myself, I've identified that as calm fear. Even though I only invested in Bitcoin what I really can afford to loose, the loss would still be felt, and that was affecting my decisions.

My next move will be to free myself from this fear. It has a price, and it's Bitcoin denominated. I am going to sell and withdraw some fiat, covering all my investment in Bitcoin purchases, purchases of the mining equipment, plus a small revenue on top of that. What's left, will be completely emotionally detached from the rest of my economy.

Hope this rambling helps somebody as well. It's been therapeutic for me. Smiley

i have had a similar experience but im kind of noob to the whole forum thing and havent really had a chance to put it in words that people would understand.

Don't know if I'm in the right section but, interested to see if any of you have gotten the bitcoin symbol for life. Please share pictures if so. If bitcoin has some significance on my life I will be getting one in the near future  Tongue.
10  Economy / Speculation / Re: The bitcoin crash of 2013: Don't you feel silly now? http://www.latimes.com/bus on: December 08, 2013, 03:49:55 PM
I dont know how someone at the "great" LA times allowed this to be published.  i was watching the news the other day and one of the top stories was a horse being lifted by a crane out of a ditch, theyll publish anything.

13  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why didn't you sell? on: December 07, 2013, 09:40:05 PM
I didn't sell because everyone on speculation said to sell, and I tend to not believe anything that comes out of that section of bitcoin talk.  Cheesy

i wanted to personally thank the staff at coinsfortech for my nexus 10, 4 day shipping from...well not anywhere near me.  great job guys and i wish you the best of luck in the future.

I've added your post to the testimonials section of our website. You can view it here. Is this okay? Customer confidence is king in the bitcoin world so it would mean a lot if we could use it, though of course I'll take it off if you wish.  Smiley

no problem at all, ive always wondered if testimonials were the truth or not.  Cheesy
17  Economy / Speculation / Re: Your biggest bitcoin-buy/sell fuckups - Therapy by writing & reading :) on: December 06, 2013, 05:33:11 AM
Long story short I bought 50 coins @ $50.00. My iPhone bitcoin ticker alert went crazy after it hit $266, $190, $170, $130. This was a HUGE crash at the time. I sold at $70 making about $1000.00. I bought back 50 bitcoin at $96, then sold at the next top $166.00 before it crashed again. Bought back at $700 and watched it almost get cut in half and am still holding. If my bank didn't take 14 days to wire money to box I would have been in at $400.00, doesn't matter I'm holding now. If you read comments on all big financial sites who write an article on bitcoin 9/10 times the top comment will say how much of a bubble and a farse bitcoin is, I listened to this for awhile mainly cause I was scared to invest. I think the people who actually believe in it stopped defending it because its impossible (especially in the speculation thread) to defend the non stop bombardment of crash posts.

The Great Thanksgiving flash crash, coming soon? I`m thinking of selling soon here.

hmm i didnt know chinese sold there bitcoins because it was thanksgiving

China is irrelevant at the moment, sideways movement for days. This is a US/European led rally based in part on the holiday weekend.
Thanksgiving makes people buy Bitcoin?

Makes people do lots of things. Why do you think black friday is one of the busiest shopping days of the year? Because people are home with family and bored. This could, theoretically, cause a lot of market movement this weekend.

if its not one crash prediction its the other, i cant wait for the martin luther king jr day crash january 20th, or maybe before that the elvis presleys birthday crash on the 8th
