woo hoo! I just got half my money back today. Better than nothing at all, but I still have another .5 BTC from a later exchange.

Ins is not a scammer! We just need a better model.

Can you link your wallet/transaction? I just wanna see how long everything took. Were you up in the queue?

looks like blockchain is down. The payment I was refunded was this transaction: 8548ee37eea26f37fb9fb69a52823d75d1733cbb3114c14007bad8673bb969d8

What I do with money in queue? Kidding? I don't have that money!

Ok, we need to know, ARE YOU SHUTTING IT DOWN?!

If you don't, then you need to pay the people...

It's not that hard to follow this. People are still putting money in and some people are still getting paid. Just watch the block chain: https://blockchain.info/address/13YJecQJCM2zaj9FAHx3ZY5j66TqMMiGi1

I suspect Ins is in Europe or somewhere east? I haven't been paid in almost 24 hours. How are some of you determining position in the queue?
5  Economy / Investor-based games / Re: Ponzi.io - Fast, Guaranteed 120% Payouts on: February 10, 2014, 01:33:08 AM

I would like to thanks the admin for running this game without leaving with the bankroll.

Thank you also for giving me back everything I deposited with 120% interest including my last two deposit of 0.499 BTC that I sent, knowing the game was about to die. I can't believe I've been paid for the last deposits. I could loose it, I wouldn't be complaining. I knew what I was playing.

That was a great experiment. If I could play it again, I would be careful to not send too much money and most of all I would not try to get innocent people to play it.
+1

I wonder what was the motivation of the admin. I don't think he makes money.

well, SOMEBODY made .79btc off me, because I was never paid out. I deposited the money while the game was still live. Not after it died.

Does this guy just manually pay everyone out every 30 minutes or something? I see no payments for a while, and one series of payments to a lot of addresses.

At least you know all the rules, with ponzi you may lose anytime.

In a ponzi scheme, the goal is to get in while it's popular and get out before it gets stale.

What happened yesterday is that the creator of this just yanked the game and took everything.

Still waiting on my .79754997 BTC. Messaged the guy on here but his account is now gone.

Wow, looks like mining is totally worthless unless you have a Monarch RIGHT NOW. Difficulty scales too quickly to justify a positive ROI.

Does this mean people will stop mining in 2014 and supply will hold steady (raising prices rapidly)? Probably too philosophical for the newbie forum. Cheesy
9  Other / Beginners & Help / Trouble moving Bitcoin-qt wallet to external drive on: November 22, 2013, 12:25:48 AM
Hi all,

My bitcoin folder (in Appdata/roaming) is 13.5GB. It's too big to keep on my SSD, so I need to move it to an external drive.

To do this, I tried first detaching the database, so I ran this code in the command prompt (using Windows 7 x64):

Code:
"C:\Program Files\Bitcoin\bitcoin-qt.exe" -detachdb=1

(bitcoin wallet opens, then I close it)

From there I copied the Bitcoin folder and put it on my E drive, then ran this in the command prompt:

Code:
"C:\Program Files\Bitcoin\bitcoin-qt.exe" -datadir=E:\Bitcoin

When that opens my Bitcoin wallet, it says my bitcoins are unverified, and nothing really happens. I left bitcoin-qt open for 12 hours and it still says I'm 254 weeks behind / not synced / have X unverified coins. When I finally closed bitcoin-qt and re-opened it using the shortcut, it used my original database destination and the wallet was synced in a short period of time.

Any ideas what I'm doing wrong and how I can successfully move this bitcoin data to an external drive?

11  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Error when posting (Even though nothing was posted 360 seconds ago..) on: November 20, 2013, 05:53:18 AM
I think it's not only time between posts, but attempts between post. My last post was at :45 but I still couldn't post at :53.

EDIT - never mind. I could. Just need 6 min between posts. :-)
12  Other / Beginners & Help / Mining capacity of $5k worth of hardware as of November? on: November 20, 2013, 05:45:44 AM
How long would it take to mine a bitcoin with $5k worth of dedicated hardware running 24/7? I have access to facilities that don't charge for power consumption, so this seems like an ideal application (until they start charging!).

TIA
