Psssh unfair. Not everyone with <100 posts says crazy things. Also, Flug: what they aren't telling you is that there are hundreds of posts like this already. Maybe give one of them a shot?

I guess it wasn't clear. I was not being sarcastic. I agree with flug and applaud and appreciate the posts.

Woops! I totally misread that as "can" rather than "can't." Thats my fault, sorry.
2  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Any Canadian bitcoin buyers or sellers try Virtex Exchange yet? on: June 14, 2011, 11:11:34 AM
Alright thanks. I plan on using Etransfer anyways. Don't mind the additional fees, I'd rather be safe than sorry. I suppose I'll give Virtex a try next time I sell. Maybe try buying later on once I confirm it works at least one way.

One thing I would like to see changed about the account info settings is the fact that after entering my bank account information, it remains visible for anyone to see. If my account were to become compromised, I would hope there would be stars or some type of mask to hide my info.

Could you please be more specific? What sort of bank account information does it want you to enter? I'm still a little skeptical and am not willing to try it out until I get some more information. Now that a senior member has tested it I'm not as worried, but I still would like more info.

Perfectly timed. My hat is off to you.
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MtGox needs to improve their communications on: June 13, 2011, 05:21:10 AM
They don't need to do jack.

It's a free market, no one is forcing you to stay with mtgox. Just switch to somewhere where they'll treat you better.

But see, its in MtGox's best interests to address concerns such as these in order to keep clients. Yes everyone could just switch somewhere else, but how does that help MtGox - who so happens to be the biggest bitcoin trader online?

Making statements that ring of "they suck, so move on" doesn't contribute to serious discussion, or help to fix the problems anewbie has indicated.

*Edit* Also Hazek, I realize you just put up a thread in response to MtGox's unreliability and damage to the bitcoin community, but I'm sure you must understand that we need a large stable trade hub in order for bitcoin to function on a grander scale. Why couldn't MtGox simply address these issues and become that reliable hub?
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does lack of coin recovery mean bitcoins fate is sealed? on: June 12, 2011, 08:03:26 PM
Even if we were unable to add any decimal places to bitcoins to be read by the client later on, could we not just  invent a new division of bitcoins - call them microcoins - and just SAY they are worth some obscene fraction of an original bitcoin?
8  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: How to build your own power supply? on: June 11, 2011, 09:50:29 AM
I really don't think that you should even be considering undertaking a project that forces you to ask "Uhh, just how much of this can kill me? What are my chances of survival?"

Honestly, just buy the PSU's. I've never EVER heard of someone building their own.

I'd love to give this a shot, because it provides a more permanent solution for me. I'm with Tolkien though: not until someone else with good rep gives it a shot.
10  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Canadians! I buy your Bitcoins! [back!] on: June 09, 2011, 10:15:40 PM
Meh, ive got RBC and im pretty sure im alright. Either way, I trust Frozenlock to be honest and reliable.
11  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Canadians! I buy your Bitcoins! [Out of cash] on: June 08, 2011, 05:04:45 AM
Sold a measly 6 BTC to Frozenlock today although he is strapped for funds now. Even after an enormous amount of trouble from my end (I had never done anything like this before) he waited patiently, offered solutions and helped me to solve my issues. Now not only have I received my payment on time, but all future transactions I make will be smooth and problem free! Will definitely be using Frozenlock again in the future, and I would highly recommend him to any Canadians out there looking to sell BTC (once he has the funds).
12  Economy / Marketplace / Looking to sell 6BTC in Canada [CLOSED] on: June 08, 2011, 12:30:03 AM
I am looking to sell my 6 BTC to someone in Canada, through email-interac. Please post here, PM me or email me at sjwright89@gmail.com if you are interested.
13  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Display driver crash after flashing 6950 and overclock on: June 07, 2011, 09:50:15 PM
Actually it was that my voltage was too low. The good people over on the Overclock.net boards suggested I kick my voltage up to 1250. It solved my problem entirely. Try doing this next time you get a display driver failure and PM me, i'd love to get some more info because the mining hardware comparison page on the wiki would appear to be listing a drastically underpowered voltage for its stats.
14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Display driver crash after flashing 6950 and overclock on: June 07, 2011, 04:16:01 AM
Update - Attempted to use only CCC's Overdrive, and the system appears to be stable - albeit with ~20 Mhash/s lower than my fully overclocked values on the TriXX. Perhaps I am using an outdated version of TriXX? I am currently on v4.0_634402083351463953.1. It was the only "latest" version of the software that I could find anywhere.

*Edit  This is by no means solved. I should definitely be able to increase my clock speed further with TriXX and push out more Mhash/s. I would like to get this fixed, and any help would be greatly appreciated.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: Display driver crash after flashing 6950 and overclock on: June 07, 2011, 02:23:32 AM
I have trouble believing that this hasn't happened to someone else in the past and that there is a fix. The Sapphire cards are released with an added Bios switch for exactly this purpose. There is no reason to suggest that the card itself was not designed to be flashed.

Does anyone have any experience with Sapphire TriXX, or have any of you run into the problem I have described in the OP?
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Display driver crash after flashing 6950 and overclock on: June 06, 2011, 08:08:24 PM
Hey forum,

I'm having an odd problem with my 6950 after I flashed the bios to a 6970. The flash worked successfully, but now whenever I try to overclock and run GUIMiner I get increasing amounts of display freezing and driver failure. I think it may be an issue that lays between two programs - AMD Overdrive, and Sapphire TriXX. I disabled AMD overdrive, though the mining hardware spreadsheet on the wiki says I should have the card at +20%. It helped to reduce the crashes a little bit, but not enough.

Has anyone else had this problem? If so, how did you solve the issue of the display drivers failing every minute or so?

Thanks for your input in advance Smiley
17  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Mt.Gox account ip freeze? on: June 06, 2011, 01:54:00 AM
Thats my issue. I have contacted them twice thus far and haven't gotten a response. In the meantime, I thought it might be helpful to listen to other people who may have had this problem. Mt.Gox is on the list of trusted buyers/sellers, so why shouldn't I ask here? It's not like Mt.Gox has its own forum.

*Edit* So none of the 189 people who have viewed this thread have any information I can use at all? Has this never happened in the past? How long does it usually take for an IP to be unblocked?
18  Economy / Marketplace / Re: Mt.Gox account ip freeze? on: June 06, 2011, 01:50:42 AM
Bump? Usually I get timely responses to questions, but not this time. I really could use some help guys!
19  Economy / Marketplace / Mt.Gox account ip freeze? on: June 05, 2011, 09:40:44 AM
Has anyone else had trouble with the Mt.Gox account freeze in the past during repeated login attempts? I was having trouble resetting my password so decided to try every combination of usernames and passwords that I use and could remember. In the end my IP got frozen from multiple attempts. I have since remembered my information, and have reset my password, but still cannot log back into my account. It has been about 2 days now.

Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated!
20  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: BTCMine - mining pool (zero fee, long polling, SSL, JSON API) on: May 31, 2011, 07:36:21 PM
Thanks for the help, but the problem seems to have corrected itself. Not sure how or why but it seems to have kicked in at some point during the night. All of my payments are accurately reflected in my client now.
