1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / 🧀[ANN]🧀 - CHEDDA - Community Governed | Dappstore | NFT Market | Leaderboard🧀 on: December 23, 2021, 11:32:43 PM

CHEDDA

Chedda is a community curated, multi-chain dappstore and NFT Market with on-chain governance and a gamified rewards system.

Users discover new dapps and NFT projects while interacting with their favorite projects.
Insights are provided by users in the form of ratings, reviews and likes which provides a rating system for projects on the platform. Users are rewarded for their contributions by non-tradeable tokens (Chedda XP) and NFTs.
The Chedda NFTs provide a mafia inspired ranking system, in which users can level up by their activity and can finally attain the rank of Godfather!

Thus, by being active, users earn Chedda XP and in turn Chedda NFTs which offers them more benefits as they level up.

Chedda aims to be the multi-chain dappstore managed by the users, and for the users.

The platform is made up of the following modules deployed as smart contracts on participating chains:

Dappstore
The Chedda Dappstore is a one-stop shop where users can discover new projects and interact with their favorite dapps.
The dapps listed on the platform are pre-selected and voted on by users. Users provide constant feedback in the form of ratings and reviews which provide insights to other users on the quality of dapps.
Think of this as a Yelp for dapps. Dapps which are identified as misbehaving can be voted to be delisted by the community. Hence, a minimum level of quality is ensured for dapps that are continuously listed in the Dappstore.

NFT Market
The Chedda NFT Market is a marketplace for talented creators to connect with users.
One problem with open NFT marketplaces such as OpenSea is the rise of NFT spam, which makes discovery of quality projects a challenge.
Chedda solves this problem by vetting all projects that get listed. Only top quality collections by talented creators will be listed in the market.
The Chedda Community decides on what makes a quality project. The community also has a chance to learn about NFT projects before they are listed and actively traded in the market, as the listing proposals are public.
The market will highlight creations by unique artists, focused on African and Native American digital art.

Rewards
User participation is crucial to the success of the platform.
All user contributions are, therefore, rewarded. Users earn Chedda XP for all constructive actions they take such as liking, giving ratings, reviews and voting.
Users are placed on a leaderboard which serves as the ranking for users in a time period (an epoch). At the end of the epoch, the users with the highest amounts of Chedda XP earned (the most active users) can claim NFTs which indicate their level on the leaderboard.  Holders of Chedda NFTs will receive NFT drops, airdrops and other benefits from projects listing in the Market and Dappstore. Cheda NFTs also serve as a badge of honor for the Chedda community members. In each epoch, users get to level up to the next level, which offers them more chances to win NFTs and airdrops for future project listings.

Governance
Chedda is a community governed platform.
One problem with centralized dapp aggregators is a lack of transparency. On Chedda, all decisions regarding listing, delisting and maintaining projects on the platform are up to the community.
Chedda community members vote on proposals, which when passed, are executed automatically by smart contracts. A user's weight in a vote is equal to their Chedda XP balance. Thus, more active users have greater say in the direction of the platform.

Chedda aims to move to the fully to a DAO governance model in the medium term.

The Chedda Testnet is now live on the Polygon Mumbai Network. You can start earning Chedda XP on the Testnet.
Our main net is coming soon to a chain near you.

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Undervalued altcoin: TIP mass adoption crypto on: August 13, 2018, 05:35:40 AM

so, basicly this TIP blockchain focusing as a currency just like bitcoin and dash, right ?
but, what they bring ? to make this coin better then the old cryptocurrencies project
That is correct. What makes Tip better than other existing currencies is the entire focus of the project is in creating a usable currency. Emphasis on usable!
Bitcoin does not fulfill the requirements of being a currency as I indicated earlier. People are never going to use Bitcoin in its current form for buying a pizza or a coffee down the street. It is just not built to make it easy to do so.
The good news for Bitcoin is that there are lots of active developments and improvement proposals like a payment protocol BIP 70 and BIP 75. The bad news for Bitcoin is, because of the current governance structure or lack thereof, it takes years for any significant protocol updates to be implemented and adopted by miners. Thus, it is not practically feasible to have the features that will enable my mom to spend Bitcoin at the supermarket in the near future. Dash developments do happen a bit faster but the same can be said about Dash to a lesser degree.
This is why a platform like Tip is so essential. It is being built from the ground up as a platform to be used as a day-to-day currency.
Thus, some features built into the platform are:
- Human-friendly addressing using usernames instead of crypto hash addresses
- Transactional metadata to be used on payment processing of transactions.
- Ability for users to find each other and transact easily in the ecosystem.
- Ability for merchants to perform analytics on purchase data.

At this point, I'm talking about applications of the underlying blockchain technology. This is exactly what makes Tip different. It's not just a distributed ledger, but a platform built on top of blockchain, specifically for commerce.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Undervalued altcoin: TIP mass adoption crypto on: August 10, 2018, 10:16:23 PM
A lot of the ICOs these days are focusing on tokenizing assets, but truth is most of these assets that are supposed to be tokenized are not seeing real world use. That trend is slowly fading.

A less explored angle is going back to the basics of what a cryptocurrency should be; A currency. As we've seen, Bitcoin and Ethereum have been great stores of value in the long term, but are not as great as a medium of exchanges due to the limitations both currencies have.

One project working on solving this problem is Tip Blockchain. They're going back to the basics and building a cryptocurrency that is first and foremost a currency. They have usernames that make it easy to find people to transact with.

Their demo is live here: https://discover.tipblockchain.io

quite interesting! gonna share this out.

Edit: So checking their website, I love the fact that I can send tips to names instead of an address.

It seems the entire concept is about being able to easily discover people on their platforms.. . . . . . . and send tips?

Reading more

Yes, the primary focus of Tip is on ease of use. We'll be making it very easy for non-crypto people to use Tip. Usernames are one way of making that happen. Each user on the platform will have a username and people would be able to search by name, find people, and transact using a username like @destinysaid, rather than long crypto hash like 0x281055afc982d96fab65b3a49cac8b878184cb16.

No more need to copy and paste long addresses, scan QR codes or any such difficulty. Tip is a revolutionary cryptocurrency, changing the playing field.
7  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you stomach the dips? on: March 15, 2018, 08:17:25 AM
The best way to stomach the dips is to look at the historical charts. Crashes are a very common occurrence in the cryptocurrency space. Once you look a the charts, you'll know that whatever you're seeing is not the first time this has happened. The market has been here before, and it'll be here again.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is this the end of cryptocurrency on: March 15, 2018, 08:15:15 AM
Oh no not again! This question gets asked literally every single day Bitcoin is down. If you've been in crypto for more than a week you'll know that this is not the end. Very far from it indeed. Yes Bitcoin and the entire crypto market is down substantially from all-time highs, but this is a cycle that happens several times a year.

Is this the end of crypto? No! Is the market going to crash again? Yes!
9  Other / Meta / Re: Merit & new rank requirements on: March 12, 2018, 04:34:10 AM
I am fairly new to Bitcoin Talk. I learned that the merit system used to be more "liberal" before, but was changed recently. Before, users would earn merit based on the number of posts they made. Later, the stipulation that they earn merit from other users was added. While I see the logic in doing this (to ensure higher quality posts), this gives an unfair advantage to people who were here before. These people earned merit almost automatically by contributing to this community, now, doing the same would not earn users merit automatically.

An alternative would be a system such as used by Reddit or Stackoverflow, any user can easily vote a story or post up or down, granting merit (or reputation) on those other platforms. By making a few select people the "custodians" of merit, this creates a biased, undemocratic, unlevel playing field that unfairly rewards older members and punishes new ones. If a user makes a post that benefits 1000 members of this community, but those 1000 members are mostly new members so are not able to give merit, their efforts go unrewarded. However, if an older member makes a post that is seen by 10 of his other older member friends, that member gets more merit for that. This is an unfair and biased system. I get the reasoning and idea behind it, but practically, it's not the best way to allocate merit (IMHO)... Especially on a platform that is known as one of the most important sites for decentralized technologies like Bitcoin and Cryptocurrency in general.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Be AWARE. Mobile payment is coming our way. on: March 12, 2018, 04:14:26 AM
There are several projects working on mobile crypto payments.

One project doing that is Tip. Tip will change the way cryptocurrency payments are sent around the world. The Tip blockchain uses usernames instead of crypto addresses for transactions, and you can find other people by searching by username. Usernames on there work just like twitter handles.

Learn more on their website: https://tipblockchain.io or chat with the team on Telegram: https://t.me/TipBlockchain

Full disclosure, I am the founder of the Tip Blockchain project.
11  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: WOW- Bitcoin Fees AREN'T Too High Anymore on: March 12, 2018, 04:03:50 AM
The lightning network implementation could probably have been more publicised. I stopped using Bitcoin for transactions because fees were just insane ($10-$20/transaction at some point). I didn't get the memo. Didn't know that fees had dropped till I had to do another BTC transaction and tried to send a transaction from Coinbase, and realized the fee was only like $0.17. I was amazed!

Advances like these need to be better publicised.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Canada Continues to Attract More Crypto Mining Companies on: March 12, 2018, 03:58:05 AM
Energy prices in Canada are relatively low, compared to most developed countries: https://www.statista.com/statistics/263492/electricity-prices-in-selected-countries/

Also, keep in mind these are national averages. Some parts of Canada have substantially lower prices than this average. Also, the energy grid is very stable and reliable. This makes Canada an attractive destination for miners.

14  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Calling Out the Blockchain Gender Gap on: March 12, 2018, 03:38:32 AM
What are you even talking about? There is an overrepresentation of males in Blockchain Technology because there is an overrepresentation of males in technology. While it is great to encourage women to get into technology, this is not something that can be changed by sentiment. There are several careers where women are overrepresented and excel at, there would be no point in saying we need to get more men in those fields. https://www.monster.com/career-advice/article/professions-women

There are also several high paying fields where women dominate: http://www.businessinsider.com/highest-paying-jobs-for-women-2016-10#3-vice-president-of-marketing-18

Men and women are biologically wired differently. This differences should be celebrated, not seen as something that needs to be fixed so we can have equal representation in all fields. Even in nature, there different gender roles in many species. Just as an example, lions are known as the king of the beasts, yet female lions in a pride do most or sometimes all of the hunting. This does not make them superior or inferior to male lions. They just have a different role. The male lions protect the territory from intruders and secure the pride.  This does not make one gender inferior or superior to the other, just different.
15  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Look at the last quote - Nikola Tesla knew bitcoin was coming on: March 12, 2018, 03:24:33 AM
Quote
“All that was great in the past was ridiculed, condemned, combated, suppressed — only to emerge all the more powerfully, all the more triumphantly from the struggle.”

The quote attributed to Nikola Tesla could be said about Bitcoin, but could also be said about any new disruptive technologies or ideas.
16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Stripe to Stop Accepting Bitcoin Transaction on: March 12, 2018, 03:18:33 AM
The truth is payment processors and networks are threatened by Bitcoin and cryptocurrencies in general because the superior technology they provide to traditional payment systems poses an existential threat to the legacy financial system. They have been trying to kill Bitcoin and have tried various tactics in the book. The latest attempt to limit access to crypto but stopping payments on credit cards and payment processors will just end up being another failed attempt to kill crypto. It might cause some short-term downward price action, but Bitcoin has weathered all such storms in the past and keeps advancing.
17  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How can we help BTC to push upward..... on: March 10, 2018, 04:22:21 AM
The recent price crashes of Bitcoin have been a result of the market growing too fast in the last quarter of 2017. Bitcoin rose from about $7000 to $20000 in a few months. And actually, just a few months before then was trading at $2000. When the market rises so quickly, there are lots of people who want to cash in on their profits (buy at $2000, sell at  $20,000). When people start selling, the price drops, and other people who have made gains start to worry about losing their gains, thus sell to cash out as well... So this continues until the price drops back to levels where it is not prudent for people to sell so much, thus, the price stabilizes. This is a consolidation of prices. Once this happens, and prices are steady for some time, more people enter the market again, and the cycle repeats all over again... Thus, in my opinion, we are getting ready for the next bull run. If we start at the $7000 - 10,000 range, and the market repeats what happened in the last run, we can expect about 5x-7x growth before the market stabilizes and turns down again. Thus, I'm looking for prices to hit $35,000 to $70,000 before the next turning back down...

Looking forward to those good times!

18  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: 'Cryptocurrency' Makes Its Merriam-Webster Dictionary Debut on: March 10, 2018, 04:14:49 AM
It's about time... If anyone doubted cryptocurrency going mainstream, there is more and more evidence everyday to suggest this is so. Looking forward to the day when cryptocurrencies are not a fringe thing, but crypto use is as common as browsing the internet is today.
19  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Craze in Africa on: March 10, 2018, 04:12:13 AM
This is a great news, many people has a misconception that Africa is a struggling nation(not to be racy here) but the reality the business opportunity in this country is as equal to others. So its good to see that they are starting to adopt not just bitcoin but currencies as a whole.  This gives more business opportunity towards africa. Hope fully their government will support this.
Africa is not a country but a continent made up of 53 independent countries. Calling Africa a country is like calling Europe a country.

Africa is really a sleeping giant when it comes to economic opportunity. The continent is way more advanced than most people in the west think. Cellphone usage is on par or even higher than many European countries and internet is accessible in most of the big cities. However, the economies and financial services being less developed than in more advanced parts of the world, this gives great opportunity to technologies such as cryptocurrency, as they level the playing field and they can help solve problems that people in the west take for granted.

I applaud the Germans for moving in this direction. Hopefully, the authorities in Canada and the US will follow suit.
