1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Dogecoin Pool doge.scryptpools.com - 0.5% fee on: December 23, 2013, 05:33:35 PM
Website and stratum have been up and down for the past few hours at least. Website now seems to be working fine, but my miners are not connecting. Earlier my miners were doing great, but I could not access the website. Bummer. I'm sure someone is aware though and hopefully should be back up and running full steam soon. In the mean time I should probably figure out how to set up backup pools with cudaminer.

Are you still having trouble?

Looks like it is up and running smooth now. Cheers!

I have been unable to get USB3 support on my pi at all. I tried a few of the usual flavors of pi-compatible linux, as well as minepeon. All the devices are recognized directly, but when plugged in to the hub they do not show at all (this goes for asics and various usb devices). I eventually Just broke down and got a usb2 hub which works wonderful.

Looks awesome! I think I might order one of those LCDs and see if I can get it up and running for myself. Great work

I'll also confirm that it is likely an issue with Win XP. I had mine on XP, but as I added more over time, they stopped showing up after the 5th or 6th one usually. Upgrading to windows 7 solved my issues, until I eventually hopped over to a raspberry pi to save power and heat.

I think of Bitcoin mining as a hobby, and thus if I do end up turning a profit someday, so much the better. Over the past few months, I've purchased 6 BlockErupters, and have had a fun time getting them up and running with a Raspberry Pi. I have made back a little over .1BTC so far, but the goal for me is to have fun. I enjoy checking on the miner stats, tweaking settings, cooling, and the like, and watching a small trickle of BTC come in over time. Not to mention, being a part of the network itself.

Will I ever make a profit? It is possible with the recent increase in BTC exchange rates. But if I don't, I still consider it a fun and worthy investment.
