1  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you manage ur emotions? on: February 04, 2018, 03:57:58 PM
You should always remember to not mix your emotions with your decision making. Too much emotion wont help you to decide wisely. Most people sell their coins because they panicked cause of the suddenly drop of coins in terms of their value. You should never ever do a panic selling. Emotions should be keep aside. Always calm yourself and rethink before you make a decision. Dont let your emotion to rule your day because it will lead you to a much greater dissappointment. Keep calm and trust the decision you made up.

Completely agreed. As an additional point - forget about the first level thinking. Forget about factors everyone else is looking at when making investment decisions and build your own models around it.
This being said - really believing in the coins and concepts you buy, helps reduce the anxiety and the urge to sell as you are contributing because you feel this is the future.

Don't expect too many unicorns though Cheesy
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Easiest way to stop ICO scam is on: February 04, 2018, 10:19:11 AM
Let ICO holders automatically send coins to your Ethereum wallet just after receiving your Ethereum

Just like, betrium.co is doing.

KYC is really useless for crypto currency traders.

If you get tokens straight after the purchase it doesn't mean that founders of scam ICO project can't just go away with your money. The best way to stop scam ICOs is to make a dip research about a project before the investment and don't listen to others.

Agreed - proper due diligence is still required. However - when launching our own ICO with smart contract distributing tokens automatically based on amount of ETH received, i was surprised to see how many investors never had this kind of experience. A lot of ICO's still send tokens through their own system or distribute tokens after the crowdfunding stage. Which is strange - as automatic token transfer has been made possible in token smart contract....

Anyway - a red flag for me is a major token giveaway and insane bonus system. Token distribution is usually when average contributors get ripped off
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Starbucks ready to accept crypto currencies but says no to bitcoin on: February 03, 2018, 04:47:54 PM
That is quite weird because if this was before when bitcoin transaction fees were high and took a lot of time then it might have been logical for a group or person to avoid bitcoin use but curenntly bitcoin transaction fees and time both have gone down. The reason might be the volatility of bitcoin, volatility of crypto currencies when compared bitcoin has the highest volatility so maybe volatility is the reason of Starbucks not accepting bitcoin.

What if BTC starts its rise again and tx fees increase? BTC is not sustainable in business use as it has scalability issues in its core code. This being said, BTC will not go anywhere, but i don't see companies relying on BTC in the future.
4  Economy / Economics / Re: when you sell out of panic, you are contributing to the dump! on: February 03, 2018, 04:05:21 PM
Agreed - however, trading is never for faint hearted. It's also important to evaluate your position and while you should not panic sell, sometimes it's worth scaling your position down to minimize losses
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] Global ICO Fund (GLIF) - Actively managed crypto and ICO Portfolio. on: February 02, 2018, 09:39:26 PM
Who is investing in the Global ICO Fund?

So, the Global ICO Fund is not your average ICO. We don’t offer bonuses, airdrops or affiliate sign ups. We don’t spend millions on marketing to build up hype. We are not reaching for $100M in 10 days. This means that we don’t attract the average investor. Then who do we attract?

Our investors understand that blockchain is a long term play. They are not looking for the next coin to go “to the moon” tomorrow just to hope to be one of the lucky few who manage to sell before it all comes crumbling down again. They buy with the intent of holding on the their investment. If they did not believe we could make the money grow over time they would not have invested in the first place.

Our investors understand that all kind of bonuses attracts short term investors. “Bonus hunters” that will sell their holdings the minute the token hits the market just to make a profit equal to the early bird bonus. The profit from a token should not come from the late investors pockets but from the company building turnover, user base and a strong brand.

Our investors understand that it’s impossible to make money if fees are too high. They realise that in the world of crypto everything, they are not getting back from their investment, is a fee. Even if this is yearly and just a one time like - token distribution. Our investors would never invest in a company giving themselves too much token distribution because that will hurt their investment and will hurt the decentralisation of the asset.

Our investors understand that diversification is the key to low volatility and risk. Since the cryptoworld is moving 20%+ certain days they want something to lower the risk. Assets that have a very low covariance to the biggest coins.

Our investors realise that it’s easy to develop a bias in the world of cryto. Something that makes it hard to make the right decision at the right time. They see the Global ICO Fund as a team that has been around for a long time and know how to avoid these mental traps.

We at the Global ICO Fund are glad to have you all on board. We see you investors as our extended team and together we will make the future bright.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which ICO would you suggest for February and March? on: February 01, 2018, 01:10:43 PM
Hi everyone! I've been reading all the top altcoin discussions and blockchain news around 4 or 5 months. Now I feel like I'm ready to get some practice Cool

My friend knows a bit more in trading, so we decided to invest together from the start. In February we plan to spend around $10k to buy different tokens. The same in March. We don't plan to get "easy money" or something like that, so we will reject any spammy or overadvertised projects. Projects with huge pre-sale discounts will be also rejected.

We're looking for long-term projects aimed to change some existing industry with blockchain. I'm gonna to check every project mentioned in the newsfeed, in this topic, and in every trustworthy list like ICOrating. For now we decided to start from Telecom and Marketing Automation areas.

Of course we all do our own researches. However, I believe that together we will be able to guard ourselves from scam/crap and find real brilliants in blockchain ocean.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Selected for February (Jan 29th)
1 https://bubbletone.io ? Graphene smarcontracts aimed to eliminate mobile roaming fees. The same phone number around the world. Mobile tarification by local prices anywhere. Working prototype, strong team. Dublin, Ireland.
2 http://grain.io ? simplifying smartcontracts for work agreements
3 https://www.policypal.network ? Insurance for the Unbanked and Cryptoassets
4 https://en.worldwifi.io/ (Singapore), https://iungo.network/ (Estonia, EU) ? Free WiFi Powered by blockchain. Share Wi-Fi, Earn tokens, see spammy ads in order to use WiFi for free.

Don't be quite if you see a suspiciuous one!

Selected for March
Global economy
1 TON cryptocurrency. WP: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1oaKoJDWvhtlvtQEuqxgfkUHcI5np1t5Q/view
2 https://omnitude.tech/ ? helps to evolve mass adoption of cryptocurrencies
3 https://www.globalicofund.com ? interesting whitepaper, but doubtful token

Data simplification
https://daneel.io ? helps with trading decision making

Declined (let us know if we're wrong!)
1 https://qlink.mobi/ ? Decentralized Mobile Network. This is a mix of several services, including new cryptocurrency. Seems unfocused.
2 Tutellius.io ? great concept, poor tokensale model. We won't participate in any tokensale with such a big presale discount
3 https://experty.io/ ? the app aimed to monetize expert's time and efforts. More than just marketplace. Great concept also, but we don't believe in business model
4 https://valid.global/ ? control on your personal data. We don't think the business model is viable
5 https://vinchain.io/ The whole Truth about a Vehicle?s History on a Blockchain. The model is not viable (opinion)
6 NTOK.io ? Blockchain online education platform. Idea is great but business model doesn't seem viable
7 https://adhive.tv ? Marketing. AI-controlled influencer marketing platform. This is great, but mixes 2 young technologies. We think it's better to choose: AI or blockchain?
8 https://www.gilgameshplatform.com ? a self-governing, knowledge-sharing social network platform powered by Ethereum smart contracts. Great concept. Too far from business reality imo.
9 https://www.wepower.network/ (EU), https://hydrocoin.org/ (EU), https://kwhcoin.com/ (US, CA) ? green energy trading platforms. All the green energy trading are being considered as too risky for now because of the lack of viable usecases.
10 https://www.arcblock.io/ ? overadvertised, scam accusations
11 IQeon ? not clear blockhain usage. Promises of income in fiat money while remain anonimity
12 https://www.sooloox.com/ ? Monetizing customer's data. We concluded that customer's data is already stolen by global corporations, nobody is interested to buy it.
13 Aktie.Social, Fabric, ClearCoin, Gonetwork ? we don't invest in spammy advertised projects

Just a sidenote - globalicofund runs throughout February and crowdsale ends on 2nd of March. Opening in a couple of hours

ANNOUNCEMENT

Global ICO Fund will open its crowdfunding stage on 1st of February

Who is Global ICO Fund? What are we doing?

Global ICO Fund is an investment fund that specializes in ICOs and blockchain. This is a fantastic investment opportunity for anyone who wants exposure to crypto while spreading their risks through a fund. In contrast to many other ICOs, Global ICO Fund has a very low management fee of 1.5% annually and an impressive 98.5% token allocation. The token launch is February 1st and everyone is invited to contribute.

Global ICO Fund wants to position themselves as a modern day patron; on the one hand seeking out reliable, resourceful and promising ICOs, while at the same time acting as an intermediary for those interested parties who have the innovative sense, but not the individual expertise, to enter this challenging yet promising new cryptocurrency market. Together with a strong team Global ICO Fund will spearhead an operation that defines business success in terms of a collaborative, co-creational and commercially viable effort.

In addition to the investments in ICOs, the fund also plans to keep some exposure to cryptocurrencies. The fund distribution has been preliminarily set with the following percentages: 60% on ICOs, 20% on cryptocurrencies, 13% reserved for alternative blockchain investments, and 7% saved in cash reserves.

By applying the expertise of the fund, together with the input of the token holders, Global ICO Fund will locate and furthermore advise the most promising companies in the blockchain sphere. The fund will be a way to expose oneself to the world of ICOs and cryptocurrencies, of which we have just seen the beginning.

10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Bounties and Airdrops on: January 21, 2018, 02:18:39 PM
Wouldn't Airdrops and Bounties essentially reduce the token value of investors in expense of getting more traction?
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: where to trade altcoins? any recommendations? on: January 21, 2018, 01:09:57 PM
Kucoin, Cryptopia, Yobit, Hitbitc, EtherDelta, IDEX etc. for the "Shitcoins". If you want to trade "real coins" I can recommend you Bittrex, Bitstamp, Bitfinex, Poloniex.
This Smiley

Also I'd recommend looking at unlisted coins, which you can buy through MyEtherWallet
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: MARKET IS CRASHING : WHAT'S YOUR THOUGHTS ? on: January 19, 2018, 03:32:40 PM
Of course not crashing, but seeing a major correction for sure, and general loss of dominance of BTC.

It's a major crash per definition, a dip of 30% or more on the market is consider a crash. However, bitcoin remains as dominate as ever and it looks like it is already rebounded, actually almost 90% has recovered so far. The market crash is over for now but just don't celebrate because we may see another bearish trend.

The crash of market is scary for the people who just met the cyrptoworld but it has been always like this since the begining.Dont panic and do not sell your coin at the dip.As you all know whales are doing this.So wait the pump and earn your money. Good luck y'all

Do you really think these dips(and pumps) are the doing of whales? I've got my doubts about that... maybe in early days, but right now, we are looking at the 24h volume of 1,122,870 BTC(last 24h) - to make the market move whales would need at least 20% of the volume.... thats 24 574 BTC (284,542,346 USD)

Seems unlikely...

There were reports coming in that says South Korean government official have a hand on the crash that we have seen. It says "Insider Trading", which make sense as the dust is settling just now. They have release such contradictory statement that causes fuel to the FUD filled market.

That's the thing - I hear so many investors blaming the whales for manipulating the prices. In reality, it seems as the market is purely manipulated by fueling the FUD filled market.... Doesn't this essentially mean that investors are the ones following the fear, not the "whales" with insanely large volume. The only way I see the market being manipulated is by sharing news that just spread the fear and cause people to panic.

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is this a 100X opportunity? on: January 18, 2018, 10:18:29 AM
There are a lot of new coins coming up with promises of 20x, 50x, 100x returns. Truth is, the blockchain(and crypto) economy is far from its goal of decentralisation - a lot of the new ICO's and alts could easily become major players in 5-10 years. while a lot will also die. I guess the best is to read the white paper and try to look past those returns.
