1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: == Bitcoin challenge transaction: ~100 BTC total bounty to solvers! ==UPDATED== on: May 09, 2022, 05:25:14 PM

As you can see on the ttdsales.com/64bit/ pool, which is actively working to find the key to # 64 - apart from me, there is also a group of people who with little power, but still support the search, because each already proven range falls out of the pool of possibilities, and what a hence -> the number of possible ranges is constantly decreasing

yes I have been lurking around that pool for a while and up to date for the most part, I just never owned a gpu and would like to throw one or two at the pool for fun. 3 questions:

1) Would it be a bad idea to purchase a used gpu? risky efficiency/speed wise?

2) Do participants get to choose which specific range they would like to allocate their gpu's to on ttdsales?

3) Are the already scanned ranges publicly published somewhere?

thank you for your answer

what would be the cheapest gpu's (but still acceptable speed) that I could purchase for participating in this puzzle?
 please any recommendations

4  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Baby Step Giant Step Combined Efforts to Find 1.2 Bitcoin on: July 12, 2021, 08:28:05 PM
Ok so I managed to run the program on multiple PCs, I have a couple of questions, I am not a pro programmer but trying to learn so please bear with me...

1) How does the program know NOT to search for ranges that someone else has already searched for? is it automated in the code to get previous searches from other users online? If so, does that mean that it would be a bad idea to run it on an air gapped PC?

2) I am currently running bat files: 10,17,18... would running them again after scan completion search for different ranges within 10 & 17 & 18 automatically?

3) Can I try my luck and use BSGS to search for other wallets' private keys (example: wallet #64 or #66)? If so can someone please Eli5 how to do it? (where to input other wallet's public key and how to set range?

I am learning python these days, dunno if that will help  Grin

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Solo mining step-by-step guide? Peercoin/bitcoin cash on: July 07, 2021, 07:15:35 AM
I have a couple of S9s that I want to solo mine Alts with. I am a complete novice when it comes to SOLO mining setup. Can anyone please help or direct me towards an all inclusive guide to mine either peer coin or bitcoin cash?

My electricity is free, and I understand that the odds are against me.

My S9s are pointed at solo ckpool, but I want to try my luck and switch back and forth between btc/bch/peercoin Smiley

Any advice would be helpful, I'm a noob! Grin
TIA

Ok, so im waiting for the withdrawal to be processed to mrr.
Also current rates at nh are stupid high.
~0.03.

So if the rates are gonna stay that high, it makes sense to start rentals after the diff adjustment, in about 12 hours or so.

It does make sense, but chance is chance so I'm fine either way Cool

I will be afk for about 8 hours.

Payment and PM sent!

My "lastshare" has been stuck at 15445xxxxx for WEEKS now!!!

Any explanation for this?

Yes: Nobody got a better share in that time, thats all.
Nothing to worry about.

Mine on

What is the reason behind this?
How were the shares higher before difficulty drop and now it's stuck?

same reason  you can toss a pair of dice  1000 times and not toss a pair of 6's for a total of 12.

Random luck

Random luck i get..
 But tens of miners having the same exact lastshare +- 500 is not random at all lol

I am new to this site.
Is this the only access to miner or other data, http://solo.ckpool.org/users, available to miners?

actually you can log into your miners web gui and all the info you need will be there

not sure what other data you would need on solo

Thank you chillfactr
Looking for mining activity, for example ltc.tbdice.org, worker, block data.

Here's my info from my miners all i need
shows my hashrate avg
my bestshare
and if i hit a block?  it will get sent to my mining address

I pointed my antminer S9 towards solo.ckpool.org

this is what im getting:

...
Code:
"workers": 0,
...
   "workername": "14vAwJfWALLETADDRESSgATmHptFR.s9",
  "hashrate1m": "0",
   "hashrate5m": "0",
   "hashrate1hr": "0",
...

I have been connected for 7 hours or so.. shouldn't the values in hashrate 1m/1h/1d/1m/7d change??
It used to be different last week when i connected...

This shows you are no longer connected to the pool and not actively mining to it. Maybe your internet had an issue?

It seems to work fine when i connect to a pool..
This only happens while connected to the solo pool :/

i thought this was the current difficulty: 1,590,896,927,258 :/
Where do you check for bitcoin difficulty?

It was that, a month and a half ago. check out https://btc.com/stats/diff or use your wallet and type getdifficulty into the debug console.

Alright great thanks alot!
and thanks ck!

Goodluck to all

Hey guys.. ok so i only have 4 days experience in mining..

i have 1 Antminer S9.. and my electricity cost is negligible.. would i have a chance of mining a block solo on ckpool? is it worth the shot?
im willing to keep my antminer pointed there for 4months..
You have about a 1 in 1500 chance of finding a block each day. Go elsewhere for advice on shitcoins please.

Ok so i do have a chance.. can you tell me how you calculated that?
It's actually a bit lower sorry, I did a rough estimate and diff has risen from when I last checked. It's in in 7700 per day.
4.2gigahashes solves 1 diff 1 share per second.
Current difficulty is 2,227,847,638,503, which means you solve a block on average every 2.2 trillion diff 1 shares. You have 14 terrahash or 14000 gigahashes so you solve 288 million diff 1 shares per day.

i thought this was the current difficulty: 1,590,896,927,258 :/
Where do you check for bitcoin difficulty?
