1  Economy / Economics / Re: Recession in the Economy on: November 05, 2018, 08:36:22 PM
Another good example was the stock market crash and subsequent economic downturn in 2000. That was not a recession according to the textbook, because GDP growth was negative in Q3 2000, Q1 2001, and Q3 2001, none of which were consecutive. But anyone who lived through the 2001 recession knows that it felt like a recession during all that time. And in fact, GDP growth did not return to 3 percent until Q3 2003.

Lastly, the salaries of serving political figures and leading figures in the public sector like the police and defence force should be voted on by the public themselves.
3  Economy / Economics / Re: Why we must study Economics at University? on: October 02, 2018, 08:04:34 PM
Whether it’s scarcity (limited resources), opportunity cost (what must be given up to obtain something else), or equilibrium (the price at which demand equals supply), an economics course will give you a fluency in fundamental terms needed to understand how markets work. Even if you don’t use these words often in your current role, studying these economic terms will give you a better understanding of market dynamics as a whole and how they apply to your organization.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Successful ICO Experiences on: September 17, 2018, 02:43:18 PM
It can feel like everybody in the crypto world wants to take your money. 1 ETH for a feature article, 2 ETH to list on an ICO website, tokens for advisors, marketing scams. Be clear about what you want, why you want it and what you are willing to pay. Everything in the crypto world has a price.
5  Economy / Economics / Re: Why Big Banks are so Nervous About Bitcoin ? Why ? on: September 08, 2018, 12:40:03 PM
The power and control of money is being ripped away from traditional institutions, which can also be seen on Wall Street. Some of these traditional investors are siding with what could be the future, while others vehemently denounce it. Individuals can now enter into direct peer-to-peer trusted exchanges with strangers. They no longer need a central institution to vouch for the other party.

Let's say that you're walking through the forest and suddenly a tiger steps onto the path ahead of you. When this happens, your brain registers a negative emotion — in this case, fear. Researchers have long known that negative emotions program your brain to do a specific action. When that tiger crosses your path, for example, you run. The rest of the world doesn't matter. You are focused entirely on the tiger, the fear it creates, and how you can get away from it.

Can’t help believing that money is indispensable for attaining happiness. But, no sooner do people make large amounts of money by any means than they are shocked to learn that the contrary is rather true; money has kept at bay the happiness they have always looked forward to and that it has made them more worried about their lives than happy about what money has brought them.

The prophetic signs that relate to Israel, though, are the most important of all because the Jews are God’s prophetic time clock. What this means is that the Scriptures often tie a prophesied future event with something that will happen directly to the Jews.
9  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Is Master Degree Important? on: March 06, 2018, 09:12:40 AM
Advancement opportunities can include moving into managerial or administrative positions and obtaining licensure and certification. For example, according to the BLS, school principals working in a public setting can be licensed as school administrators. Most states require a master's degree to obtain this designation.
10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Which Investment Type do you Prefer??? on: January 14, 2018, 02:09:32 PM
There is no difference in returns with mutual funds vs ETFs assuming the expenses are comparable.
It's really just preference for how you want to manage it. If you want to be able to trade during market hours like stocks in small amounts, then ETFs are obviously better. If you prefer larger more infrequent investments, then mutual funds work fine.
