You are right, however most people aren't good at math. They see that many zeroes before the decimal and they think the supply is more. So unfortunately this coin is screwed, you can see it right now. Daily 26 million coins are mined and sold. To much supply, similar to when there was to much beef during Reagans presidency. They had to push cows in lakes to keep the market from crashing. A basic college economics class would have pointed out this problem before it happened. Although it is too late for this coin, throwing them away won't save it. The market has already crashed and with any first impression, this coin now has a bad one.

However as the lead dev said, he isn't good with math. So he wouldn't have seen this coming. Then there is the problem with him being a developer but bad at math. Aren't algorithms a computational proof? Computers are all about computation, mathematics. He is the lead dev and doesn't like math? lol

Is this coin actually just a troll coin? or an MIT social economic experiment on the overabundance of supply vs demand?

Wasn't premined because the lead dev announced it to his group of friends. You can see that the GoonSquad began mining as soon as it was announced on the obscure 4chan, of all places.

I'm looking forward to CCP's next article about GoonSquad stealing millions of USD through their elaborate crypto ruse. It's the principle of the situation. They won't explain their professional reasoning behind not resetting the fork. There response is "it happened".

It was devs, you can read there discord. They mined it before the ann and they admit to it. I posted comments from their discord.

Two programmers said they were working on it. When I asked for a timeline, they ignored it and changed the subject. The app is wishful thinking at the moment. When you hype things that aren't real and are likely too fail, you are spreading fear uncertainty and doubt on the project. It'd be better to focus on things that the project actually has going for it.

Have these dev's developed an xbox app before? What applications? They didn't want to talk about any concrete things, they focused on the possibilities "if" they could get it to work and "if" they can get the app published.

There are a list of pools on the website turtlecoin.lol . There wasn't a pre-mine, this is just the first time was announced on this forum.

Your devs are paying mad amount of money for premine. Thats why you won't reset. So just admit there was premine by your devs.

A premine would imply the devs mined an amount of their own coin. This is simply untrue. A leak happened. The team dealt with it by getting the site and announcement ready as quickly as possible.

I crunched some numbers on the profit of GTX 1070, 1070ti and 1080 average hash rate at a price of $0.093 watt.

At each graphics cards average hash rate given the possibility of BTC dropping to $1000, the GTX 1080 and 1080ti are the only cards that will turn a profit at .093 cents per watt. They will return about $0.11 profit after the cost $0.29 to run.

A GTX 1080 cost $550+ that doesnt include the other hardware needed to run the GPU. That means it will take over 5000 days to get your ROI, return on investment.

TLDR: My hypothesis based on this observation is, if BTC drops below $1000 threshold Alt coin mining will become nothing more than a hobby and most Alt coin markets will die. Leaving mostly Proof of Stake Alt coins. These are interesting times.

Are they really that bad? Whattomine is saying they can make a little on Equihash.
