1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] NDL - The coin for Pastafarians - Flying Spaghetti Monster Cryptocurrency! on: February 06, 2016, 02:08:25 PM
We're going to need a block explorer so that YoBit can put NDL up on the exchange.

Anybody up for it?

For now I've added the NDL chain over at :
http://explorer.netcoin.io/
http://explorer.netcoin.io/chain/Noodlyappendagecoin

It's currently syncing, but should be available soon enough.

A better explorer with richlist and whatnot is available at http://52.10.241.130/. If someone has a suitable domain available – feel free to add a DNS pointer.

abe explorer for NDL right here: http://dognose.com:40023/
a link to the above is found at my general NDL webpage, http://dognose.com/ndl

anyone have any sort of contact info for the original dev/author of NDL ?

I keep getting connection timed out for the block explorer ? Are you sure it's running ?

The one (and only) commit refers to a Paul Bradley : https://github.com/His-Holy-Noodliness/noodlyappendagecoin/commits/master
Besides that, it's not a lot of info available any more it seems.

after it times out, try again. i dont know/understand ABE's internal workings, but i'm suspecting its not updating new blocks into its database until it gets a request. then goes away for a time doing the updates.

retries a couple minutes later usually work for me.

if it is NOT running you would get an instant web error, not a time-out.

I've tried quite a few times, but no cigar yet. You could try running abe with the --no-load param, which would avoid the problem you describe. And set up a cron job that runs at a given interval
with the command:  python -m Abe.abe --config abe.conf --commit-bytes 100000 --no-serve

It's not that hard setting it up under Apache with fast-cgi either. Which should perform better and increase stability.

Oh, I need the exe, that's for sure.  Was hoping for windows, but I was also asking in general so other people could download the wallet as well.

Hi,
I've rebuilt the windows binaries/installer using gitian. Worked right out of the box.

I don't have a mac available right now, so I haven't been able to rebuild the mac wallet. But here is at least a link to the mac wallet that I built a long time ago:

Hi there,
and thanks for making this.

I'm currently trying to set up bitcoin-abe for Netcoin (https://github.com/netcoinproject/netcoin) and I'm having a bit of problems.
I'm running the latest from github and have added the following to Datastore.py:

  {"chain":"Netcoin",
     "code3":"NET", "address_version":"\x70", "magic":"\xfd\xb6\xa5\xdb"}

...
....

Any ideas on what I'm doing wrong ?

17  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Any coins worthwhile mining without expensive rigs? on: December 01, 2013, 11:32:45 AM
Thanks,
I guess I'd pretty much ruled out mining bitcoin/litecoin because of the difficulty / the small amount I would expect to mine with my setup.

I was more thinking about mining a couple of "new" / more unknown alt coins, and take a gamble on that they in the future may be worth something on an exchange.
I'm not sure if it's the best strategy from a profit perspective though Smiley

In terms of "worthwhile", I was thinking about coins where you still have a possibility to solo/pool mine a reasonable share (even if the coins are worth next to nothing) withouth investing in ASICs.
I've been looking at the charts over at http://coinchoose.com/, but I struggle to see how I can calculate when I can expect to find a block solo mining by combining the difficulty/network hashrate / my hashrate.  Anyone know how to do this ?

Hi,
I'm new to the world of cryptocoins, but find it extremly fascinating and fun to explore. My question to you guys, is if there still are any coins
that are worthwhile mining with "ordinary" computers, e.g. CPU mining with intel core i7 and/or GPU mining with Radeon 7850 ?

Thanks
