How i was SCAMMED by the AsicMinermarket.com

I placed an order on that site Order #5672 and after making the payment using bitcoin 0.12316524 btc (1000 usd) Txid: c3a9008905e78cb480a648f22c8ba2950c62c2187ad6065d1b77710be535e876 my order show up as Canceled.I wrote to the support but i havent received any response.
How that happened? Simplly when you make a bitcoin payment the amount of that order changes after you made the pay and say that never received initially payment and cancel the order as unpaied but the blockchain cannot be lied there appears all the money received and send.
For me that site is a SCAM have taken my money and never responded after and also no sending the miner that i ordered as a test purchased.

   Hey,

I think you can write off an 'investment' loss on your taxes :

For US tax purposes, “theft” generally means criminal appropriation of another’s property, including loss from swindling, false pretenses and guile (Revenue Ruling 2009-09). Generally, whether a theft occurred for tax purposes would be based on laws in the jurisdiction where the theft occurred and, and it occurred with criminal intent. A conviction is not required to determine a theft occurred (Revenue Ruling 2009-09).

You can also file a report with the FBI providing as much information known about the company or person(s) involved.

    [/b][/i]

If they use a bitcoin wallet, then they are likely traceable (DNA-type evidence)...

If indeed a scam took place, can you at least write this the loss on your taxes as a theft/fraud?
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Miner Giant B In Stock!! $8888 on: March 18, 2018, 02:24:15 PM
hey guys i have some units left. I was part of the first batch and I ordered myself, I've sold 7 of them and have 3 left.

If anyone is interested let me know. My price is cheaper than what if being offered here, because well I dont know how anyone justifies paying these guys 8888 for a miner that only costs 3600 from the first batch.

PM for price. Located in the US and shipping expedited with insurance.

Prefer US buyers since its easier, but open to international orders for the right price.

Would you please send the payment or return the coupons?

I sent you $1200 worth in bitmain coupons
Please be honest and either pay or send them back
Thanks

Did you try to buy a miner from him ?

I did and got scammed big time. He seems to be a trained scammer who talks big shits and gets you into paying first to secure the deal. Then gets to you constantly till you pay him fully and then ignores you to the bone. BEWARE of this fcuk!

I am lucky I didn't get trapped by him .   I sent him a message and he quoted me $5500 and asked me my location .   I told him I live in Texas , but was on the road in California and asked him if he was out west .    He never sent a second reply.    Unfortunately , this site is full of scammers.   There is a group of people who buy well established accounts for the purpose of scamming.   Btw ,  do the coupons allow cover an entire purchase or limited to $100 or so per order ?
He probably avoided you as you wanted a meetup deal which he can't provide since he doesn't have anything but scam to sell. In my case, I don't live in US, so case was different and he was able to convince me into paying first and then scammed me. That asshole claimed himself as Bill from Texas, hope if you can meet him up some day and beat the hell out of him for scamming honest people.

He could of told me he was from NJ or HI , but maybe he thought I already knew he told people the Texas story .  Most likely he is from outside the U.S.

Not knowing the gender of this user, I will not use the words he, him, she, or her.
I was actually taken for 4.45 BCH by this twit scammer.   This scammer was persistent in making sure the Bitcoin Cash was transfer via GDax exchange.
The name on this website is p90xinsanity.   The name they called themselves was Bill Gustosfan and their email address is billydaakidd7@gmail.com.
I refer to them as Billie Goat or Billy Goat  (the non-human, toilet trash) whenever I email them asking for a refund.

Their bitcoin cash wallet address was/is    1ENFW8yZr9Kc1NXLyWJLSntDDbhs8nSce9

What is interesting is there were two deposits to this wallet and that means someone else sent them BCH as well.

I'd be curious if someone else was taken advantage of by this goat.

This wallet was emptied on March 2nd, after p90xinsanity was 'shamed' on this website with a negative trust rating on March 1st.

If anyone knows how to identify the owner of  1ENFW8yZr9Kc1NXLyWJLSntDDbhs8nSce9   it would be appreciated.

If you'd like to send them some supportive emails for their Mental, Physical, Psychological issues, don't hesitate.   Email em'.

Update:

Cryptohardwares  has had their account suspended.

The Website had the look and feel of an authentic business.

Yet one curious feature, is that they always seemed to never run out of stock on items, but only had a couple of em' remaining.

They also had plenty of 'customer feedback' responses that gave them high marks for timely delivery and product quality.

They only dealt in cryptocurrencies and is unknown if they offered escrow intermediaries.

In any case, they appear to have been a shill company and are now history.

             Buyer beware...

Update: 02/18/18:
Their price has since come down to $5400/unit for the Giant B.

Not enough info / feedback to confirm if this site is legitimate.   They only accept Bitcoin, BitcoinCash, LiteCoin, and Dash.  They are located in Portugal (outside of U.S., if that matters).   Dunno is they provide escrow service.

If someone could figure out how to reprogram the FPGA's in the Baikal Giant B to mine other algorithms, this would be huge.  To be fair, the person could sell their firmware for a good price to other Giant-B owners.  This device is a monster in disguise for an expert FPGA programmer.
if he will find out/reprogram firmware - why he should sell it?
he'd buy more baikals and mine himself on new algos... lol

It's a good point -- so has anyone heard of an FPGA specialist doing solo mining?  Such a person could make thousands of dollars per day.  I used to program FPGA's in the early 2000's... however it is very complicated and time consuming, way harder than writing normal software.

Pictures of the two newest Baikal miners (ie.  Giant X10 and the Giant B) seem to be relatively the same.

Is there anything preventing using the IMG file (provided by the Baikal support page) and having a 'working GiantX10 or Giant B miner with just a IMG file swap?

If not, what is different about them?

Will damage occur to the device is this is attempted?

If someone was able to reprogram the FPGA chips with new algorithms, how would they sell it?

Once it's released, it will become public domain.

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Giant-B on: February 13, 2018, 11:19:46 PM

I don't think this unit uses FPGA chips, instead they're using ASIC chips, which cannot be reprogrammed.

12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Giant-B on: February 13, 2018, 04:07:50 AM

I don't see any updates for the Baikal Giant B miner on their Support Page.

You can always email Baikal and explain your situation.   They will likely respond as they are not busy with new product releases at the moment.

             Hey DanX88
Did you try and purchase a Giant B miner from this person?  (Male, female, humanoid, troll, dweeb, toilet trash, etc...)

Did they give you the run-around with delays in receiving the bitcoin?

Did they demand more money after your initial payment?

Did they threaten you with court for failure to pay additional money?

Did you use their alternative website selling page  Selly or did you deal with this person through personal emails?

I myself, attempted to purchase one for $6400 back on January 31th.

I am still trying to contact him through emails here and at his gmail account:  billydaakidd7@gmail.com

I 'foolishly' still hope they are ethical and trustworthy and send the miner or refund my bitcoin.

Did you happen to get any personal information such as their name, address, phone number anything more concrete to contact them?

Unfortunately, I have lots of questions regarding this person and their methods of 'scamming' their victims...

Yep.   Buyer beware.   I guess i'll be another one for the books.   Had plenty of email only correspondence with this person.

               Here is an example:

Hey Bubba,

There was some trouble syncing the wallet so I have reached out to coinbase. But rest assured I will take care of this and we should be good to go. Just waiting to hear back from them.

I will update you when it gets resolved.

Thanks!

Sometimes this happens, its not a concern. Things normally get functional in 1 or 2 days.

If you have any other questions feel free to message me

     Hello,

Its been more than 48 hours since the payment has taken submitted.  How much longer do you suppose this will take?

Is there a way for me to check the completion of this BCH transaction with the Wallet address you provided?

      Thanks.

Hello,

They are still having issues, but they told me they are working on it.

I'm going to ship out the unit today, and just wait it out myself so you dont have to get dinged for this. Should get to you on Tuesday I believe.

Cheers

Hey Bubba,

The miner has been shipped and should get to you by Tuesday. I will update you with the tracking by Monday night as I'm currently traveling.

       Hello,

If you have the time, could you forward the tracking number and shipper info please.

        Thank you.

Hello Bubba,

I had to recall the shipment with the crash in crypto prices. Taking into account the delay and issues, I only got a portion of the money now.

Please send me 1000 dollars more to compensate for the crash in the market, as the miner is worth more than what you originally paid. Payable to the same wallet address.

Thank you.

        Hello,

How about I sent it to you another way.     Taking into account the Crypto-delays that are out of OUR control....

The markets may crater some more and then what.    You'll extort more money.

It was your choice to use Crypto   (not mine)....

So what happens is this occurs again Huh?

I understand your concern.

After todays senate hearing it seems that they have finally stabilized.

Please send 1 BCH to the address. And that should be the end of it.

Thank you.

          Hello,

The best way to settle this is to just refund by BCH that I sent you.

    Hello,

I'll just take the refund.    Its a smaller price to pay than to get the run-around.

As you said, there are plenty of buyers out there who want this Giant B miner.    So have at it.

          Good luck.

How about we both compromise and do 500?

            Hello,

                   I understand your position.

Yet I saw your Selly.gg price history as follows:

                           Originally priced at  $6400.

                           Price raised to         $7400.

Price lowered to       $6400  (I assume after I purchased my Giant B miner.)

Price lowered to       $5400  (soon after I had purchased my Giant B miner.)

Price lowered to       $4700  (supposedly to sell the last one you had in stock.)

You SOLD your last one @ $4700.

The price of BCH on February 5 reached a value of $1147  or   4.5 BCH * $1147 = $5161 usd.

So you still come out ahead  $4700 was the last price it sold at versus the value of BCH on 2/5/2018 of $5161.

or   $461 above the $4700 you were asking for.

I think there might of been some misunderstandings.

I get where you are coming from and just wanted to let you know 1 bch will resolve these issues.

Keep in mind that the Giant B is still a month away from being delivered by Baikal and so you are still saving alot of money.

If I refund you now you will just have lost money and not gotten a product, one bch will put this issue to bed. It consumes so little energy that its a money maker no matter what happens to the price of coins because at the end of the day it will remain profitable.

Thanks.

The reason I had to adjust the price was because some people wanted to pay in Decred and that was not an option.

So we had to arrange an alternative form of payment minus their payment in Decred, and thats why you see the price fluctuate so much.

           Hello,

So what are you going to do?

Refund my BCH I sent to your wallet?    Or fulfill your sellers responsibility and common sense of trust between two parties and send the Giant B miner?

I don't know whats going on over there to hold my BCH or Miner hostage?

Lets get this done and over with once and for all ...

            Hello,

Personally,  I feel I paid you fair and square the amount WE agreed upon.    Your firm commitment to Crypto in lieu of any other means of payment was of your choosing.

Had you chosen (for example) usd, we would not be having this discussion.

Again, thanks for all of you assistance in navigating the crypto buying and wallet transferring sessions, and the info regarding the Giant B miner was very helpful.

Therefore, I would like to close this transaction with a simple refund or delivery of the product you promised (at the price I paid you for it).

I've been awfully nice in all of this. We can put this all behind us and to rest if you just make things right and send the bch.

Thanks

             Hello,

Why are you requesting more BCH.     Just refund me what I deposited to your BCH wallet.

         Hello,

I've decided to send to the $1000 final payment.    However, I do not want to chance it with BCH again (for out sake).

Instead I will only send a USPS money order in the amount of $1000.00 using Certified Mail, Registered Mail and Signature Guarantee options. AND NO P.O. BOX.

I DO NOT WANT TO HEAR YOUR EXCUSES THAT YOU DID NOT RECEIVE THE MONEY.    THIS HAS TO END.

Or,  you can REFUND the money.   Be a man and not a little boy and live up to your agreement.

       Cheers..

Lesson learned....don't buy from anyone who does not provide a real name, address, phone number (who can be sure, anyways...)  Or buy from an authorized seller only.

                Hello,

I purchased a Giant B miner but seller is playing games with not sending it.
So I don't have first hand experience with the miner, however, you can verify the Stratum address is correct with the following addresses:

Connect to NiceHash Stratum Server
Europe - Amsterdam (NiceHash)

19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Baikal Giant-B on: February 07, 2018, 12:46:07 AM
Hi everyone,

I am new in the mining business. Hopefully, I did not enter at the worse time possible.

I just received my Baikal giant b last week, I manage to set it up and it worked for 3 days before it starts showing this sign  Huh Huh
No devices running

I looked everywhere in this forum for a solution but no luck, I tried emailing Baikal support and skyping, no luck too.

Here is a screenshot
https://www.dropbox.com/s/801pfligdd79im3/22630fa9-2cd2-4c72-bc55-ab218f1a9877.jpg?raw=1

Will updating the orange pi help?
I will appreciate any tips or suggestions
Thanks

Did you complete the settings page setup (miners)? Is your fan running? If you had it running and didn't hear anything (the fan is really loud) you might have over heated the boards/chips and fried the unit. The Pi would still function since its separate.

If I remember correctly, there was a thread somewhere that discussed how to troubleshoot the Baikal Giant-B from the command line. It was really helpful and went through all the error codes. I would search for that thread. If I find it I will update my response.

The fan is running perfectly, I always check the temp plus the room temp is cold 24/7, it was mining with under 40 degrees.
Yeah how to use the command line? I tried admin, baikal, my user name,, nothing works!

This is a repost from the Baikal X10 (which is similar to the Baikal Giant B):

       Hopefully this helps...

Just received my Giant B on Friday.  After plugging it in and pointing it to nicehash it's not working.  The red lights show up but no blue lights.  It connects to the pools but doesn't do any work.  Has anyone else had this problem?  Has anyone solved this problem?  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Update:  Fixed the problem.  The support staff at asicminermarket.com sent me the following instructions:

anyone having troubles with their Giant X10 or B, could you try logging into it (default user:pass is baikal:baikal) and running this command:

Code:
lsusb | grep 0483

This command will list the USB devices attached to the OrangePi and then filter those results to only show lines with "0483" (STMicroelectronics' USB vendor ID). The expected result is this (where things should be working properly):

Code:
Bus 007 Device 003: ID 0483:5740 STMicroelectronics STM32F407

But if you get this:

Code:
Bus 007 Device 002: ID 0483:df11 STMicroelectronics STM Device in DFU Mode

Then the STM32 microcontroller may need to be reset (it is stuck in firmware download mode). If this is the case, issue these two commands:

Code:
echo 0 > /sys/class/gpio_sw/PA10/data
echo 1 > /sys/class/gpio_sw/PA10/data

The first command sets the PA10 pin to 0 (off) on the OrangePi, which is connected to the STM32's reset pin, which in turn holds it in a reset state (it needs to be at 0v to reset). The second command de-asserts (sets to 1 in this case) the reset pin allowing the STM32 to begin normal operations. These steps fixed the issue with a Giant X10 I looked at. These commands may need to be run again after reboot, so you may want to write a script in your favorite language to do this at boot or to do a periodic check.

If you get "permission denied" (or something like that, I don't remember the exact message ATM) when trying those commands, try this first:

Code:
su
(then type "baikal" again for the password to elevate your terminal to root level)
Or simply log in as root:baikal instead.

Worked for me and I hope it helps other.

Giant B received today as part of group buy from itop with another member on this forum. It's a little noisy for where I was hoping to run it, will consider selling for 0.9 btc + shipping fees. pm me if interested.

                        Hello,

Why not use passive cooling.        Cheesy Cheesy        NOISELESS BIT MINING     Cheesy Cheesy

                                     1.   Get a plastic tub with a lid that is at least twice or 3x as large as the Giant B miner.

                                     2.   Put the Giant B miner in the tub.

                                     3.   Fill the tub with Mineral Oil (which is electrically non-conductive) .

                                     4.   The Giant B miner will only generate heat, and No Noise.

                                     5.   Don't bother putting the power supply in the Mineral Oil.

                                     6.   You may have to run a small fountain pump in the Mineral Oil to circulate the fluid around the Tub.

                                     7.   You may have to run a small fan (quiet, not necessarily fast and noisy) across the top of the Mineral Oil to remove the heat.

                                     8.   The plastic tub will radiate a lot of heat around its perimeter.  Which the external fan (Step #7) will wick away.
