3  Bitcoin / Group buys / Re: [OPEN - HOT] EU 3X SP-30 6 TH/s shares @ 0.08 = 60 GH/s 102/102 available NOW! on: June 10, 2014, 06:16:51 PM
Anyone that is considering buying in, be sure to look at the shit show that is his other group buy.. Poor communication, repeatedly diluted existing shares, and long delays. And to top it off its still not hashing.

Regarding the link, as I understand the situation, the delay/problems are from KNC. When entering a GB, this is the risk you take = the blame can not be transferred on to the Gb starter.

I certainly understand the source of the delay, that's not my complaint. My concern is about how the delay was handled. A decent groupbuy leader would give updates more than quarterly.

@rudyo  Why do you think he's screwed?  The machines were paid for a while ago, so the BTC/$ rate was locked in and now KnC owns all the exchange rate risk....

Also my payout address is correct.

Respectfully disagree with the part about digital currency not having an intrinsic value.  Fraud and transaction costs are a huge dollar amount to financial service companies, and online transactions are particularly risky in this regard.  Look at a 10K or quarterly SEC filing for any financial service company that issues credit or debit cards.  For one largish firm that I just checked fraud losses were on the order of $200MM a year.  These costs are passed through to merchants and consumers through interchange charges.  To the extent that digital coins can reduce these costs, they're hugely valuable.

The only concern I have is adoption by merchants, which will require lower volatility in the exchange rate or the ability to instantly convert BTC to $.  Merchants hate shouldering all the exchange rate risk.

This GB looks good, and is priced nice, but is anyone concerned over the future difficulty?  I have just about clicked the button to order, but this keeps me from doing it.

http://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/difficulty

http://bitcoinwisdom.com/bitcoin/calculator

We know with all the machines coming on the market that the difficulty will continue to increase to offset all that hashing power and keep the block time at 10 minutes.

The one caveat is the future BTC price.

I don't mean to throw water on this party, but how is everyone justifying this one?

on dec of 2012 coins were 10 bucks.  they are 840 in dec of 2013 .    A lot of money from lots of people is getting tossed at the world of digital coins. this may be the next dot com craze.

there actually is value to coins real true value in the sense of a practical use. 'home heating'  check out the money spent heating homes worldwide it is big bucks.

right now I am running a hd7970 mining litecoins.  it uses 240 watts of power to earn about 7 dollars a day. for dec-april it will help to heat my home and make money doing it. A lump of gold would just sit in a box doing nothing at all.

Don't handle it by PM.. These are common questions that anyone seriously considering sending you money will ask.

I'm interested in picking up some shares, but wanted to understand the expected delivery date a little better.  I've seen Jan 2014 as the date for preordered units, which are sold out.  Any idea how much longer past that new orders would be delivered?
14  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BitMinter.com * Optional Custom Miner, PPLNS, Merged mining, Newbie-Friendly! * on: November 30, 2013, 04:55:23 PM
I've been using bitminter for a few weeks with a couple of block eruptors and a blue fury.  I've noticed my client shows a hash rate around 2.8 to 2.9 ghs while in the pool stats page it shows I'm hashing at 2.1 ghs.  Why the difference in hash rate?

The blue fury also shows a ton of miscalculations.  Is that related? I'm not sure if it's a hardware problem or a reporting issue.

Got my BEs and my BF running on the same USB hub.  Tried running the beta of the client from an earlier post in this thread.  It seems to be very particular about which ASIC is plugged into which port in the hub, I think that may be the result of the way I installed the drivers.
18  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BitMinter.com * Optional Custom Miner, PPLNS, Merged mining, Newbie-Friendly! * on: November 26, 2013, 04:52:20 PM
I've tried unplugging it and resetting it, but always the same timeout error.  I tried flashing the firmware per the blue fury support thread and then reinstalling the drivers but nothing there either.  Guess I'm doing something wrong
19  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BitMinter.com * Optional Custom Miner, PPLNS, Merged mining, Newbie-Friendly! * on: November 26, 2013, 04:25:07 PM
The beta client was a no go also.  I get a time-out error when it probes the port with the blue fury.  Guess I'll switch to BFGminer, too bad because I really like the integrated pool/mining client.
20  Bitcoin / Mining software (miners) / Re: BitMinter.com * Optional Custom Miner, PPLNS, Merged mining, Newbie-Friendly! * on: November 26, 2013, 04:17:22 PM
I've enjoyed using bitminter so far with a couple of block eruptors, but now I've got a noob question.  I just got a blue fury asic and installed the appropriate drivers, but it isnt being recognized by the bitminter client.  Is there a way to get it to recognize the new device or do I need to switch to bfgminer/cgminer and give them the appropriate pool info?
