I've pretty much locked down my system and have taken my wallets offline. Your very own system being compromised is likely and sometimes won't get noticed until it's too late. Security is a big concern and it is good to see these topics brought up.

Do you have any good reason to believe that the crypto market is going to grow this year? Do you think we may end up in all red? I do not see the growth and happy investing of last years.
I think as the technology advances so does the potential of market manipulation. However, I do take comfort in knowing the space will continue to grow and we are in a very early stage. If it doesn't go on a bullish run this year, fine by me.

EtherDelta is probably one of the more cumbersome exchanges I've ever used. Are you able to exchange via GDAX?

Yeah, definitely not a scam right? ![Grin](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/grin.gif)

I'm always torn between the two. Half of me wants to try day trading and once I go in, my other half tells me to just hold and put in new money. In the long run, I end up holding and cost averaging

Possibly, but I strongly feel the adoption is the issue here. The stock market is full of people trying to earn money through various methods of investing strictly for profit. I do think it adds to the volatility of cryptoassets though, but at the same time this is what draws in investors.

Hi guys, I was just wondering why so many haters and spammers are getting away with so much abuse and off topic garbage. Im a member of many forums of all different subjects, and I see these kind of people get banned all the time, but not on here, why ? They seem to spam just to up there post count, and most seem to have gained some merits, and are advertising in their signatures. Am I the only one that thinks its wrong ? Rick
Though there is some moderation, It's a free forum. Everyone can do anything they like and the quality depends on the preference of the viewer. In my opinion, your post is a spam which advocates against the free speech, decentralization, human rights and democracy. Oh come on, please get off the high righteous horse. Not everything in life is subjective and if it was, it's easy to take side of those rebelling against the norm and be perceived as a hero. There is a reason why the term "spam" exists and to consider that a violation of free speech or human rights? Let's not play devil's advocate...sorry for the spam post!

Nobody truly knows. In my opinion, I don't think the biggest problem is with the technology of cryptoassets but rather the adoption. Until more people realize it's potential, then I expect it to stay stagnant.

My biggest disappontment is Tierion (TNT). Well-established company that successfully launched mainnet, and it is a main competitor to better known Factom (FCT) - you can go through a comparison in this Reddit thread. Moreover, they implemented kind of maternode system which usually tends to be a factor of fundamental price increase. They have even some real business use-cases (for example Microsoft). However, the price has declined for majority of the last two quarters except the bullish race that affected all coins. Price remains under ICO quote and I am still holding .. Yes, I agree. With solid partnerships with Microsoft and Phillips I thought they'd gain some traction but it's been pretty stale for quite some time. I have a small position with them I'm holding but am considering selling some off.

Mine has to be AChain (ACT), hasn't gotten much publicity but definitely a solid team and already successful DApps and POC

If you're basing your decision by the responses on this forum, then no.

If the review was strictly for that and nothing else, I think that is pretty ignorant of somebody. I'm in the US and find it quite disrespectful when I see teenagers or even adults making fun of the way somebody speaks. It's a self centered mentality...

My tactic so far is simply holding and doing additional research on what I currently hold. Perhaps I could consolidate, buy more, transfer, etc?

I think understanding the intention of the project and what problem it will solve will help. Along with that is the team, community, whitepaper, roadmap, and potential of adoption. There are things to consider as well but that's all I can think of for now. Good luck!

Still a rookie myself. After a few months I've realized I need to consolidate into the more solid assets. Don't look for the jackpot yet and be patient is just my 2 cents

We're just at the early point of cryptoassets. As for exactly when to invest, that's up to you to decide

I'm a bit torn in between big companies developing their own cryptocurrency rather than utilizing what is in existence. If this holds true and moves forward, I wonder what it means for altcoins in general?

|

Right on, I ended up cost averaging on the way down thinking I'm buying at the bottom of the dip. Nope, a bit of patience will help I suppose

Probably doing a lot of your own reading among forums like this, reddit, youtube. Plethora of information out there but it doesn't hurt to pick up a book or two on it as well since they are structured rather than you bouncing all over the place.

Yes, the Chinese New Year is certainly something very much anticipated, because it is said that in the Chinese new year bitcoin will cost a penny, because the Chinese will cash their money to celebrate the new year.
I certainly hope you're kidding about Bitcoin only costing a penny due to Chinese New Years. I never heard anything more ridiculous than that
