1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / [ANN] [FHC] FiveHundredCoins - An honest attempt at a terrible altcoin. on: March 03, 2015, 05:24:43 AM
Meet FiveHundredCoins, an altcoin printed straight off of CoinCreator with just 500 coins, using their free service. This means no unique Merkel root or Genesis block, which may cause problems for reasons I don't know. And yes, it still uses the CoinCreator logo.

Anyway, I'm not going to bluff about this altcoin attempt, it is shit and I urge you to only download it if you really want to. It will most likely never sell for any amount, and will most likely fail within hours, but I at least wanted to say "I made a coin!" even though I never physically made one. heh

Wallet links will go directly to CoinCreator, because why not? I don't have a website to put them on, so we'll have to make do with what we have. Why did I say we? I'm probably talking to myself because everyone's been scared off by the horrifying terribleness of the coin. Tongue

Windows Wallet - Only for Windows, because Linux is not compiled with CoinCreator. No source either, CoinCreator doesn't give it for free. Yes, I know I'm violating GPL, I'm just gonna casually get taken down, to be honest. Algorithm is SHA256, go ahead and ASIC this to death, I don't care. Tongue

Instructions:

To Run: Download, Extract, Run
To CPU Mine using Wallet: Type "setgenerate true" (no quotes) into console, type "getmininginfo" into same console to get mining info (duh?)
To ASIC Mine: I don't know, figure it out yourself. Tongue

Alright, so I've decided to reboot this, with an edit to the OP, and I'm about to start writing a story now. I figured I should write a lot of stories so people can learn my writing style, and then promote them and get people to come, instead of hoping they'll stumble onto it.

If you want to leave feedback, do so, I'll probably edit or post back when I'm done.

EDIT: Just a repost of an old short story I found unpublished on my hard drive, I'll see if I can get a new story written soon. [Link]

http://edeniancredit.xcp.pw - http://kingdomofedenia.webs.com/ (a micro-nation - unfortunatly disolved)

You're kidding me? You found my old micronation?

Hahah, nice. I have a new one now though at http://vyktorydollar.xcp.pw which leads to http://vyktory.webs.com. We even have a MicroWiki page at http://mw.micronation.org/wiki/Commonwealth_of_Vyktory

Also, that Edenian Credit asset died as I was the victim of an XSS exploit that took my coins. The Edenius replaced it, then Edenia died. heh
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarketCap.com - Market Cap Rankings of All Cryptocurrencies! on: November 30, 2014, 08:15:07 AM
please consider changing coinmarketcap.com default view to this: http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/views/filter-non-mineable-and-premined/

that way: IPO and premined coins will be filtered which they are shit.

thanks.

As far as i know coinmarketcap is a general marketcap for all coins unless you name it miningcoinmarketcap.

This I agree with.

Premined I can agree with, but the non-mineable I disagree with, because some of those are proof-of-burn, and thus are IPO-less. Counterparty being a prime example. There's proof-of-stake as well, which aren't as good as PoB, but still aren't exactly IPOd. NXT being an example of that.

Hey, I'm wondering if you can get around to adding my Counterparty asset, JaroknCoin.

BTCTalk thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=847507.0
Explorer: http://blockscan.com/assetInfo.aspx?q=JAROKNCOIN
Website: http://jarokn.deviantart.com

It's only trading on the Counterwallet DEx at the moment, but it's on BTer voting and I've applied with Poloniex.

I sent a submission form a little while back but have heard nothing.

Just a quick update on the status of my writing and the token itself.

We have gotten onto Bter voting and am awaiting an email from both Poloniex and CoinMarketCap about listing there.

Me and a few of my friends have also organized the first DEx trade of JaroknCoin, just to set a price, which is the same as on the DeviantART commissions. It hasn't confirmed yet, but it will soon.

I've been tied up with school as of late, but am intending to do some writing later on, and I'll be taking on commissions now, if any giveaway participants want one.

I intend to give out the 0.5 XCP gained in the DEx trade as JaroknCoin's first dividend, just to test that system.

Anyway, that's all I have time to say at the moment, I'm writing this on my school lunch break. I've gotta get back to studying.

Stay awesome!

Do you guys mind if I link to the announcement thread new asset I've built on Counterparty?

Basically, I'm an author who is making their own token for people to buy commissions with and receive a distributed share of the commission revenue.

It's called JaroknCoin.

More details at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=847507.0.

JaroknCoin (JRKC) - The Coin of an Author

DeviantArt - Giveaway - Commissions - Facebook

JaroknCoin is a semi-decentralized content token based on Counterparty, akin to (and inspired by) TatianaCoin, although the approach taken is very different. JaroknCoin represents a stake in the authoring success and content created by myself, JAmes-RObert KNight (JAROKN capitalised in name for emphasis). JaroknCoin may buy commissions of shortstories, poems and other written works, while they also represent a stake in both the financial success (via dividend-like payouts) and the collective Intellectual Property, which by the way, is Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike licensed.

I initially started this coin back in November 2014 and made many beginner's mistakes, such as selling some JRKC while a giveaway was going on, (although the people involved were interested in purchasing more), or accidentally mucking up a dividend even worse when the feature bugged out. After a fair amount of time went by with next to no feedback apart from giveaway entries, I silently put the project on hiatus, after many issues happened with my life in general.

I am now back and ready to write more stories, and want people to join The Jarokn Club (A nickname for my community). I hope to be able to learn more about crypto and offer more stuff other than just writing. Did you know I was once a musician? I'm even on iTunes, and I could sell my music if people wished.

All in all, I'm willing to create a community around my stories, my music, whatever people want, I have few rules on commissions (most common sense) and I will endeavour to deliver on them as soon as I can, so enjoy and STAY AWESOME!

Original Post

I already wrote most of the introduction on a thread at Let's Talk Bitcoin, so I'll put a slightly edited version of that in a quote below.

Quote
Hey all, I've been a casual follower of the Bitcoin space since around 2012 but really got into it around 2013 when Counterwallet was released, since then I've been very interested in Bitcoin 2.0 and have since acquired an EARLY token, and various orher things.

I am a hobbyist author, however, most of my writing is either lost to the ages or on NationStates (A nation building game) as Role Plays. So I thought I'd consider making more writing and publicizing it, but where, and how was the main question.

I mulled it over for a while, and had DeviantART earmarked for a while, but was wondering how to monetize it, while also fostering a thriving and happy community. I've always believed in Creative Commons and copyleft, as well as giving a share of my earnings back to the community, and wasn't sure how, until it hit me. Counterparty has dividend features, and can be used as a currency!

So I decided to issue 1 billion JaroknCoin (JRKC), and sign up for DeviantART under the name Jarokn. I have used this nickname since I was about 12 in various places, most since long forgotten. I know that not many others use it, although it is taken on Facebook and Twitter, but I can use something else on those, and I already do.

So, anyway, rather than attempting to explain it all here, I made two posts on DeviantART. One for my commission and request rules and prices, and one for JaroknCoin itself. The links are at the bottom of this post.

For those wanting a quick summary, basically, the tokens are used to buy commissions and receive a distributed 10% share of every commission purchase. Eventually, I want to have an access token here for a forum and society.

Anyway, I'm in the process of working on some writing examples, in the meantime, I have links.

Commissions and Requests Info: http://jarokn.deviantart.com/journal/Commissions-and-Requests-Info-491936090

I have a giveaway going at http://jarokn.deviantart.com/journal/JaroknCoin-Early-Bird-Giveaway-492314817 which is for the early birds that get in quick, and there is also two sell orders with 100m JRKC on the DEX, one for 10 XCP and one for 50,000 LTBCOIN. The LTBCOIN will go towards a token society on Let's Talk Bitcoin, so people can chat in a tokenholders forum, and the XCP will be reserved for a logo creation bounty.

So, that's basically it. I have a few examples of my writing on the above linked DeviantART page, and I'm uploading a few of the songs I've written back when I was a musician as I speak, so hopefully it all works out well.

For comparison my email response, word for word:

Quote
1. It looks like you are using Chrome? What version.
About page says Version 34.0.1847.116 m

2. What Chrome plugins do you have installed?
NationStates++, AdBlock Plus, Google Docs and Web of Trust

3. Was the BTC stolen from your old wallet balance, or your new wallet balance?
New wallet, as I did not have enough BTC balance to transfer from old wallet.

4. Did you generate the passphrase for your new wallet at the new wallet site, or did you just reuse your old wallet passphrase?
I generated a new wallet passphrase.

5. If stolen from your new wallet balance, how soon after you transferred the BTC over did they disappear?
Around 6 to 8 hours later.

6. Did you ever access the wallet on another machine?
No.

7. Are you running antivirus? Is it up to date? AVG Free, up to date.

8. Please download and install: http://www.zemana.com/product/antilogger-free/overview/ Once installed, let us know if it finds anything.
It found nothing, but thanks for the good software. Smiley

9. Did you click on any "odd" or risky links in the last few days?
No, I always try and keep away from that sort of thing.

10. Have you copied your private key to your clipboard ever?
Once, and that was into a Word Document to print out as a Paper Wallet. As soon as I had pasted, I wrote gibberish and copied that.

11. Any other details??? As for the transaction, I only own the address I have listed in the email, none of the others are mine.

Seems we are partly similar on Question 1 and 9, the same on 4, 5, 10 and 11 and different on the rest. I'm not sure what to make of the whole Ubuntu thing, I believe that's up to the devs to figure out. (Questions quoted are from danielpbarron's post)

Thank you for the email, it took me about 10 minutes to find it, as it was on my web client in spam, and Outlook doesn't download that folder. You will be happy to know that I have replied and support the development team in this stressful time.

Thank you for coming forward; this will help us greatly in figuring out what happened.

No problem, I wanna get to the bottom of this as much as you do. There is a fair amount of money at stake here, and we need to make sure it's stable and secure.
