1  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Boot problems w an S3 miner on: May 29, 2019, 03:34:09 AM
Problem solved! I changed the miner over the DHCP.  My neighbor was able to fire up the miner just fine.

Now to get him to pay be up w a 6 pack of beer!!!

Thanks to all forum friends for the help.

192.168.1.99 [typo].

[...]

I'll look into that.  Still, I was able to find the miner on his network using 192.168.1.99 on my Smartphone using his wifi.

We hit the reset button on the front plate and it reset to 198.162.1.99 via default, and miner config is set for factory set antminer pools.  I was able to login to the miner using my cell phone logged into the WiFi in both locations.  I mines on my cable system. but not on his ATT setup.
4  Bitcoin / Mining support / Boot problems w an S3 miner on: May 28, 2019, 01:54:08 AM
Well, I'm an 18 month newbie in crypto, and I got started first with USB miners, then a few Butterfly Labs 700Gh miners, then moved on to various Antminers.

What a learning curve.

So I have a lot of 'retired' miners (and PSUs).  I sold an S3 to a neighbor, and he can't get it running.  Everytime he brings it back to my network, the miner boots fine an runs @ full hash rate.  At his house, the miner boots (access via 192.168.1.99) but the red light stays on, and refuses to fully boot and mine.  It show 0-0-0 in mining status, yet you can access other features (reboot, other menu items) as expected.

My ISP is Charter (local cable) Internet.  His ISP is ATT.

This is a mystery where I need Geek friends.  Suggestions to get this S3 (and future upgrades) up and running are welcome.

the pool have problems... ten days now it's down..

Looking for alternative Digi mining sites until Blocks Factory fixes the issue.  Hate it too, because their interface was very functional, compared to other mining pools.

www.multipool.us

I only use scrypt with this one, no idea about sha. It merge mines with doge and via

miningpoolhub

I use this for groestl and skein.

I moved from blocksfactory after the first stuff up a few years ago and these have been the best alternatives I can find

I'll check that out.  I only have sha miners.

The site is down again.  The latest block has 58 hours on it.  My miners show 'dead' for the stratum address.

It took over a week last time before the site came back up.

Time to move my miners to another pool.  Slushpool is mining good BTC now.

All of the pools are down, no official word from anyone, lucky me i cashed out and they only owe me 130 coins... I had like 9k in there that i got out minutes before the scrypt shutdown... It was a really good running pool...

Agreed.  It was a good running pool.  What I liked is that it is similar to Slushpool.  You could track the health of your miners.

Lesson learned, and is repeated over and over and over:

NEVER store coins in a pool. Make the minimums and withdraw to your wallet.

Looking for an alternative?  Try eobot.  I have been mining that site for 8 months now (referral link) https://www.eobot.com/user/1789812

Dose anyone know if the sever for block factory is going to come back up or not

I'm now getting 502 Bad Gateway error.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Pools (Altcoins) / Re: The Blocks Factory - Multicoin pool on: November 12, 2018, 03:06:08 PM
Theblocksfactory is *KEEPING* my hashrate.  You cannot cash out, you cannot get the pool to acknowledge your connected miners and there is nobody to contact!  Guys - this is an exit scam.  They are literally fleecing everyone's DGB.  Get out of blocksfactory NOW.

The site is down.  All of my miners show the Stratum address as DEAD.

Look at the last working block.  I has not been resolved for over 36 hours.

I have moved to other mining sites and will come back to TheBlocksFactory when the problems are resolved.

I have 4 BFL Monarch miners (750Gh).  Two of them are performing @ 95% (hashrate/poolrate) and the other two have problems. One is @ 360Gh (94%) (hashrate/poolrate), and the other is pushing 950Gh, but on slushpool, it's only showing 315Gh (32%).  It does not matter which computer I'm using the cgminer software.

'puter: Win 7 Desktop & Win8.3 laptop
software: CGMiner 4.10.0
Pool: SlushPool

How do I go about diagnosing the problem?

TIA

Seems one is running on less chips since some might be dead and the other seems faulty and throwing errors like crazy since you may see high hashing but the pool tells the tale that most of it is bull

Agreed (possible dead chips).

I don't see generated errors on the miner pushing 900Gh (32% return on slush).

What next?

Correction .... there are errors, but they come in 'clumps'.  I would expect more for a 600Gh difference, but it's not there. Does CGMiner generate a .log file?

Silly questions from a newbie miner.

I think slushpool if you are comparing your present hashrate to their dashboard its not inaccurate but base on what i heard its not affecting your earnings..
If you still not satisfied better to ask slushpool in their official thread they can gives you more insight about your issue..
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1976.22660

If you really wanted to earn higher  i suggest to go kano pool and the pool fee is 0.9% which is great.. they pay higher than other pool base on what i experienced..
Check it here https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=789369.0

Thanks!

I'll look into kano after my first payout from slush.  Only have been a member for a couple of weeks.

I'll ask on that other thread.  It's just that obviously I have problems w two miners and want to know how to troubleshoot them.
