I had also thought it's Mt Gox because it rhymes with Fort Knox, and Mt because the currency is won by mining. I hope Mt Gox is as secure as Fort Knox.. It better be. When you think about, a well known structure, guarded by humans born with flaws, that can be easily destroyed, assaulted or besieged with the right amount of angry people who want gold when the dollar falls and other governments with unlimited funding and destructive weapons. Invest in bitcoin, the ideaology and the currency.

Just read an article on the Bitcoin Weekly, Love all of your work and read it very often, about a new software called Cryptocloud. the article interviewed the creator on cryptocloud and a few other topics. However it did not mention a release date as far as could tell.
I did a google search and found what seemed to be a similar software but could not find any information on it. Cryptocloud promises anonymity similar to the Tor network while also being very bitcoin friendly. If anyone has any more info on this topic please post because i am very very interested.

Well mapped out and developed very nicely. Visually pleasing with a much better interface. Fast!
Everything Mt.Gox should have been and will have to do in order to compete with Tradehill and the possibilities of any new exchanges that may come out. I know people are in the process of constructing them as we speak, erm, type.
Please help me out while helping yourself out! Referral code is: TH-R1269

How about a limerick?
There once was a girl from Des Moines Whose breasts were as fine as her loins. "I'll do tricks for dollars, Make all my guys holler, But I save my best stuff for Bitcoins!"
(Probably should've posted anonymously...)
this will be remembered for ages to come, only if bitcoin doesnt fail naturally.

i think sweft needs to dev his own ecurrency software however he wants. let him see how his ideas actually pan out in an open market and the real world before he calls out the devs of bitcoin because they didnt do something right. well it sure appears they are doin somethin right as we speak cause the price of bitcoin is soaring.
sweft, go get an education.

there is a limit on bitcoin to try and prevent the calamity that is overprinintg of fiat currency by a central source to pay off debts, pay for wars and buy prostitutes. Cap production, there is no oppurtunity for the inflation that occurs with fiat.
the proof of work problems are set up in a way way where the difficulty will increase exponentially, but there will never be an end to the proof of work difficulty, removing your so called deficit of hash, allowing a stable and secure network.

Bitcoin beginner here. Just siitin here late at night flippin through a couple of topics and had a couple of ideas i would like to share. this is also a plea to any hoarders who may be out there, this is a way that you could use the money you gain in these early stages of rising popular knowledge.
If you happen to come accros a new found wealth with your BTC that you had saved away before the initial price increase or any increases to come. invest/dev/startup an online business that sells only in bitcoin. At first cater to the BTC community, selling primarily hardware for mining groups, laptops, games... whatever you get it. this will begin a large increase in actual bitcoin trade for realworld items. Profit from price increase+profit from sales via bitcoin+bitcoin community profits as a whole.
This is the only scenario that i can see bitcoin truly succeeding. we need a few daring people to create a new market. Hell for all I know, if bitcoin truly takes off, these companies will be the first large enterprises that solely run using bitcoin.
