1  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Antminer S9 Not Powering On on: January 28, 2018, 03:41:26 PM
So if my PSU is defective, can I attempt to run 4 individual 600W PSU's (one for controller board and one for each hashboard) since I have them sitting around.

Or should I just replace the APW3++?

I've never run an S9 off 110V. No clue how others would pull it of off an APW3++.

Curious -- if it's not possible or recommended why is it even supported by the PSU?

Is the cooling fan for the PSU moving? And you've checked your breaker for the outlet?

Stupidly obvious I know, but 1st rule of troubleshooting; rule out the easy/obvious stuff Smiley

No fan / leds. No signs of life,,
Breaker all good, psu does turn - antminer does not.

Found this, be careful!

Tried this and sure enough, getting zero readings with both methods..

Now my question is if my PSU is defective or if the PSU will not provide power at all on a 110V outlet?

Getting 220V installed tmrw so we will see ...

It's true. S9's need 1340W more or less and as per Bitmain AP3W++ only deliver up to 1200W on 110V but 1600W on 220V.

This means my Unit is probably fine, just needs 220V?

Why do some users claim to run at 110V with apw3++?

Awesome man - thank you! Will check this right away..

Also someone in another thread just said that the S9 will not post at 110V with apw3++ without sufficient wattage .. is there any truth to this?

Hello, can you confirm this is true? Until I saw this I had assumed my unit was defective and was looking to put in for warranty. Have not yet tried on 220v, but on 110v with apw3++ my S9 is showing zero signs of life.

Is there power coming from the psu?

Is there a way to effectively test that? PSU powers on but I have not yet confirmed if it delivering power or not.

Yes , disconnected.

Just trying to power the controller board as described by bitmains troubleshooting guide.

Hello, have an S9 that is not powering on.

Using AP3W++ on 110V. ( 220V being installed next week. )

Even powering on without hashboards connected (following bitmains troubleshooting guide) there are no signs of life with the controller board..

This suggests a faulty controller board according to their guide.

Now do I order replacement controller board or am I missing something -- will the s9 refuse to show signs of life on 110V using ap3w++?

Thank you!
