1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] IPO of MaidSafe:  Entering the Future of the Decentralized Internet on: June 12, 2019, 06:22:45 AM
I was about to buy some Maidsafe as the price seems to have bottomed.  But just as I was about to, price fell to new lows.  I believe ICO price was 3430 Satoshis.  Price fell to an all time low yesterday at 2006 satoshis and is now at 2067.  With Bitcoins ever increasing in dollar price, it doesn't look like Maidsafe is able to keep up.  I believe most use dollars or other fiat currencies to trade Maidsafe, that is why it will never catch up.

cause this is a overhyped coin from like 2016 lol, and it (like many others) had some nice pnd hype action, but that's about it.  zero reason it should have any high price.  it's being 'developed' fucking forever only to show.....................nothing.  like most vapor alts for the last 3-4 years LOL.

Supposedly they will have something out in the next 2 months their leader and chief proclaimed on their forum a bit back. Lets see what happens  Grin , as long as I keep my expectations rock bottom it can only be positive hah.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EXCHANGE] Poloniex - Crypto Exchange with BTC/NXT on: July 11, 2017, 10:35:41 PM
Anyone verified their FinCEN MSB registration number lately?

I see in their TOS here:

10. BSA / FinCEN
Poloniex is registered with FinCEN as an MSB (Money Services Business), registration number 31000055869515. Poloniex may be required to file details of account activity to this organization from time to time.

Then you go make a search here:

https://www.fincen.gov/msb-registrant-search

Interesting their registration number does not yield any results. What is up with that?
3  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: [HELP]BTC deposit address generator on: January 04, 2017, 07:30:02 PM
Dev here, best way to do is use something like blockTrail on your website/application to generate addresses for your wallet with their API. If you have some cash and want a full explanation or sample codes or something integrated to your site lemme know(pm me) Smiley .

While relying on a third party for payment processing is probably okay in the majority of use cases, it's worth noting that a site that handles large amounts of money and for which availability is a concern–like the ones Neeo gave as an example–should implement it themselves rather than trusting a third party.

I agree with you on some level. The best thing about blocktrail is you can export your wallet from them (they can't access it directly since they lack your private keys) and then you can import your wallet elsewhere if you need to to use it again(if they went down for some odd reason). And yes if they dissappear you need to code your own RPC client code integration that can handle the wallet and post back and for with your site for new addresses/deposits and updates and so on.

Sorry for your loss.

Did you verify your bets? https://dicesites.com/nitrogendice/verifier If you want to understand the provably fair mechanism, you could read about it on my article: https://dicesites.com/provably-fair

Your screenshots definitely don't show anything. Losing 1 or 2 bets on 94% obviously happens all the time.

Back to back like that pretty much on a 94% after testing it before with lower value amounts. And no I did not generate the seed before hand so their site when I click verify tells me it can't verify it, which that's lame its implemented in a way that requires action on the user before hand and not a solution that can be verified all the time. I just don't believe nitro. I rather see the behavior of the site prove to be more like the %'s than some statement. My screenshots show a behavior of 94% winnings when I play lower amounts. 94 rolls out of 100 should hit at that level. Just won't be using this site anymore since this left a sour taste in my mouth. If I could go back in time and have my 6.67 I won fairly from sports and never see the stupid dice feature again I would because I don't believe it actually works fairly, I think something in the background affects high roll btc values.

Not that Nitro cares, but I recently won 6.67 btc in some sports betting after being down. So I went on DICE just to roll a few times and do a test of their algo's too. So i tested prior to my win with some super small amounts and the %'s of winning seemed to be right for what I had it set to. So as a test I decided to try big values and look at the instant behavior change lol. They claim provably fair on dice but I think something fishy occurred and they have background code that checks the btc values and forces losses more frequently.

Take a look and heed this warning users of Nitro, do not use their DICE feature:

Rolling with low values system behavior:

https://postimg.org/image/l8uwifv3d/ ,

Vs rolling with high value system behavior(close enough to the same win % chance rates):

https://postimg.org/image/blgu1a2mn/ ,

tested it pretty well but did not feel like burning any more precious btc into it.

I talked with others in the nitro chat and many said they found similar behavior where low values tended to win more frequently than attempting big coin rolls.

I may have gotten my 6.67 btc ripped from me but you don't have to! Play only sports where you know 100% whats going on in the background because I don't trust Nitro anymore.

Thanks,

In the end I am satisfied with it all since I won I suppose. I will just be sure to pick right before a match next time and not get angry about how they limit bets to so little so early on per choice like 1 btc max on -5.5 ect...

10  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Bitcoin QT blockchain download starts and stops on: August 22, 2014, 01:54:11 PM
So I am running Lubuntu and trying to get a fresh install of bitcoin-qt wallet to download the blockchain. It seems it will download the blockchain for about 30 minutes usually and then just stop. To make it continue I have to close the wallet and restart it and same thing will happen again a little later, its really frustrating. Anyone have any suggestions as to whats causing this?

Thanks.

2. Domain + SSL cert
3. Hosting
4. External hardware needed to run the site
5. The funding for Source Guardian License.

Well if no one will step up and do something we could be in for a rude awakening. Where are the bitcoin pirates with their DDOS botnets to take this pool down a notch  Tongue ....

DDOS attackers are pure scum. Such an attack would cost other bit coin miners lost revenue. Are you going to pay them back?

I see few options if we actually reach 50%+ .... Bitcoins will be worthless if double spending occurs. Network compromised ruins this system.

They would destroy their own company and wealth to do it. Why in the world would they toss away tons of revenue to double spend a few coins?

This is a valid point, but some people destroy simply because they can. Do we have any idea who the actual owners are? From what I have heard no one knows who is pulling the strings, and that is a dangerous game when we give a loaded gun to someone who is anonymous.

16  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: **Breaking news** Satoshi Nakamotos identity revealed on: March 06, 2014, 06:24:36 PM
If it really is him, he might as well come back to the forum and join the Bitcoin scene once more. The community could use his intelligence as well as he could use our support since he will be getting a good deal of attention now. It was his idea, he should stick with it to some extent in the same way Bill Gates keeps up with Microsoft.

18  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: [WTS] Pre-ordered Black Arrow Prospero X-3 batch 1 on: January 06, 2014, 02:29:53 AM
Well if you end up not shipping to your address you wont be paying those customs lol, I am partly interested but 10 btc is a bit insane especially since I expect btc to hit 2k per coin within the next 2 months easily. I have the ability to use this rig at a college dorm room with extremely high speed ethernet and electricity completly free so maybe we can work out some sort of deal.

20  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Black Arrow announces 28nm 100Ghash Bitcoin ASIC from $1.49/Ghash on: December 24, 2013, 07:07:31 AM
Yea blackarrow has been really bad letting people know were batches were.  First they said batch 1 was closed, and were going into batch 2.  Now there saying that batch 1 is open, but hey were shipping your units march 10, instead of February 24.  It's pretty pathetic actually, to see this company with a good product, to have such terrible customer service.  Instead of just hiring people for 2 dollars an hour, they would rather try and do it themselves, and at the end of the day it's just costing them some serious $ signs

That's not what they said, they repeatedly said batch1 is set for original ship date, batch 2 is march ship date. If you followed this thread the last few days you'd know that so i assume this is a troll post.

Batch 1 is when we get all of the ASICs created.

Batch 1 will be shipped starting Feb 24th 2014. Because of the number of orders, if you buy now, your order will be shipped after March 10th 2014.

This date change is less about what batch you're in and more about when you can expect your product to ship. This date change is done as a courtesy.

We can't ship all orders on Feb 24th. That's just not realistic.

Whats wrong with shipping all batch 1 units in one day Tongue ? Source multiple shipping companies and plenty of tractor trailers and should be good to go Smiley . Only thing thats really stopping me from purchasing atm is the fact I would be stuck with a date that will cause profitability to be hard starting at march 10th.

Oh, for the love of Mike....

Anyone, even the likes of Amazon get swamped sometimes. It's a function of number orders versus product available/personnel/facilities.

Yeah I was just being sarcastic/butthurt about it all so I posted that just interested to see what people would say xD. I completly see why it probably couldn't be shipped all in an entire day. But a 14 day gap seems a bit stretched between shipping dates for a normal company in usual circumstances eh? By having a batch ready, does that mean they are all boxed and labeled ready for shipping or does having a batch ready just mean produced units ready for selling(still needs boxing/labeling)?
