What is going on with grin coin? I read some of the comments on here and they don't seem too bad, and the general cryptocurrency market is not doing bad right now but the grin coin price is down like 70% since it started trading on Poloniex.  Are they diluting, company selling coins on the market, or no buying interest? I bought some, bought more then bought more and all I did was lose Cry

The above spreadsheet looks out of date now.
The following spreadsheet should be more accurate.  Reward/block should be 60, not 50.

Why does it start from March 2018? Is that when the testnet launched? And it just became the mainnet afterwards?
Wondering this question too. However,  not found an answer to it so far.

It is simply going down because at the present time GRIN has one of the highest inflation in the market (I don't know if it is the highest); it will gradually decrease over time, until it is almost negligible after 30 years, but the objective fact remains that we have 86400 new Grins on the market every day, more than 31 million Grin every year, FOREVER.

All this in a relatively stationary / lateral market, with many "old" projects close to the release of Mainet or important partnerships, with "problems" relating to wallets to send and receive Grin ( completely different and more complicated than the previous Coins ), here is we can explain a slight and constant drop in the new currency!

Finally I believe that the "creators" of GRIN did not want the umpteenth coin to speculate and earn above, the umpteenth gold digital to be kept in the wallet without spending it, because tomorrow has a higher price (why spend today $ 1000 if tomorrow can worth $ 5,000 / 10,000?); I believe that the creators of GRIN wanted a new Coin minable, anonymous, fast, and above all with a light blockchain.

So let's say that today GRIN is not a store of value, it is not yet widespread as a means of payment and is not yet user friendly (it could become so in the future); on the other hand GRIN is today a new Coin with privacy, no address, with a new and innovative protocol (MimbleWimble and Couckoo Cycle), with a light blockchain, medium of exchange!

What you are saying is simply not true. Why are Beam and Bitgrin also going down when they have an emission schedule akin to Bitcoin? Why is XYZ shit coin also going down when it to has an emission schedule akin to Bitcoin? Why is Bitcoin itself going down? The reality is we are in a bear market and the likelihood is that even if Grin had Bitcoin's exact emission schedule price would still be down and moon boys would still be sad.

Grin is aimed at becoming a medium of exchange, however, it's not going to become a medium of exchange any time soon. It needs to become a store of value first- It needs to retain it's purchasing power before anyone accepts it as tender. The creators of Grin never designed it not to become a store of value, they just designed it not to become the BEST store of value.  It seems many don't understand this.

As a miner and buyer of Graft I prefer not to have the airdrop, nice call !

Now we all need to know what will happen to the coins? Will they get burned? Will they keep locked? Will they be dumped?

Anyone can answer these simple questions?

If the coins won't be airdroped, what use will they have??

Anyone here from official sources??

Can these questions be answered?

The tokens for the airdrop was intended to be funded from the DEV`s reserve token pool.
As these tokens will not be used for airdrop they will remain in the reserve pool.

Thanks

That is not entirely correct. There are up to 60 million unsold ICO funds already included in the Coin market cap(CMC) circulating supply number( ie as of right now 350,996,755 ).  If these tokes are held in a dev wallet, then is the Graft team going to update CMC on this?
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] GRAFT - Universal Payment Processing Network on: August 05, 2018, 08:28:32 AM
The worst part is that the Airdrop numbers they cam up with were total BS.

They did the following calculation in the announcement:

Example 3 : November 10-18 GRFT price avg 0.0000131 BTC (and the price hasn’t crossed 0.0000262 BTC before then), each ICO purchase of 1 GRFT will receive ONE additional GRFT via airdrop.

Now if we do the following calculations with todays value:
About 6M USD was invested in ICO ~ 22M Graft coins.
If the price halves as they said here, they will airdrop 22M coins. Now here is the problem. The price today is only 0.00000205. That is 12x that amount in coins. Which means an airdrop of 264M coins not 22M or 50M!. Now if the price goes down to around 120 satoshi, you can double that amount one more time to ~500M Graft. (480M) The price of 120 sat is not coincidental. This is what the price dropped to shortly after the release of the coin on tradeogre but before the pumps that happened.

So now the project has three options:

1. Wait and hope that the coin price will rise and the Airdrop will not happen. This is however a not likely scenario. The project laks fundamental marketing strategy and the coin is virtually not known anywhere.

2. Buy up a shitload of coins to get the price up. This could very well happen, but here is the problem. Doing so is intentional market manipulation, if it ever were to get out shit would go down and i not only talking about the price of the coin.

3. Cancel the planned Airdrop. (Not likely)

Now the airdrop itself is the worst idea yet. Imagine if Facebook, after the IPO and after the stock went down, stated that they would reimburse with new stocks cause the market said it wasn't worth the price they were asking....that is just not how these things works. Also as an ICO investor you take a risk, you agree that you will invest in the project or company for profit or for ideology. This could get you filthy rich or you could loose everything, however this is a risk that you were willing to take. Basically GRAFT is screwing over the community with this move.

And yes i know you as an ICO investor would really like to have your investment back and safe, but think about it. If 500M Graft were released to the market at one go, what would you think would happen with the value? Current Sell orders at tradeogre are around 6M Graft and increasing, now imagine if that was 22x the amount or 200x the amount, Because yes, someone will hold, but some will also see this a great possibility to recoup their risks and investments.

And here is the sad part. I Actually think that GRAFT has some great ideas and a great product. The Veriphone partnership and the the payment systems are one of the leading things i have ever seen in the crypto community and way ahead of other projects that are out there. We were even thinking of implementing GRAFT in our own products. But with this, we see that there really is no strategy behind the decisions being taken, and its sad. If the airdrop happens and the SEC gets word of if, this coin value will plummet faster than a stone in water. And then we are talking risks.

As an investor
You know what i would do if i invested a large sum in graft? I would hold it, just up to November 8, then just starting to dump it all. The Graft project has basically give you all a free golden ticket here. Lets say i invested  250K graft. I hold it to just before the airdrop average date and dump it all. Maybe i'll make up about 5% of my initial investment, and the price goes further down.

But here comes the kicker: No matter how low the prices goes i will still recoup my investment. Of the 250K i invested Graft will kindly give me the remaining 95% that i "lost" on the value decrease.  How kind of them Smiley  And ofc i'll sell that amount as fast as i can to recoup even more, knowing that most of othe other investors will do the same and push the price further down. Now when the market quiets down again i can go in and get tonnes of coins at a ultra low price, if the project even lives that long (as i don't think will happen).

I didn't invest in the ICO and i don't regret it. However i did buy up a good chunk of graft which now is sold. Now i'm just waiting for the airdrop date Smiley

FYI the airdrop is capped to unsold ICO funds that are already included in the circulating supply. By my calculations, there is a maximum of 60 million unsold ICO funds currently in the circulating supply. Therefore the airdrop will be for no more than 60 million GRFT.

whats wrong with the windows wallet ?

24 hours and still no mined coins in my address.  It sucks to unline other coins you cant go to the blockchain explorer and see if the coins are in there

what can i do ?

got the windows wallet from here

https://graftpool.net/#/help/getting_started

Are you mining on graftpool.net. If so, then the issue is most likely with the pool, not the Graft wallet.  I would advise against ever using Graftpool.net, the owner is incompetent.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] GRAFT - Universal Payment Processing Network on: July 23, 2018, 03:44:19 AM
There are certain rumors about bankrupcy of Verifone and Graft abandoning the project since it is their biggest partner. I have seen question about bankrupcy on reddit and couple of more places, most of them were deleted / hidden. Interesting, 12 hours ago big dump started, like a million GRAFT was sold for basically nothing.

To clear things up, there are no rumors of Verifone going bankrupt. Earlier in the year, there were concerns about their net losses/ debt, however, in April it was announced that a private equity firm(Francisco Partners ) would acquire Veirfione for a total of 3.4 billion including debt. So the risk of them going bankrupt anytime soon is close to ZERO.

https://www.cnbc.com/2018/04/09/verifone-acquisition-announced-shares-surge.html

There are some comments on Reddit about a Verifone bankruptcy, these are clearly from someone who has no idea what they're talking about and was also unaware of the recent acquisition. It's a bit of a joke when you examine some of the posts- One of them even suggested that a struggling Verifone must be thankful for the Graft partnership like Graft was going to save them!  Posts on Reddit were probably moderated for good reason, because, they were total nonsense.

I would not describe 1 million graft being sold as a "big dump" when the mining emission per day is close to 1 million and the circulating supply over 300 million. I don't see how it's interesting either when the rumor of Verifone bankruptcy turned out to false( Verifone was acquired by a private equity firm)  and it was also a rumor that was started many months ago. Someone was just clutching at straws trying to justify a recent short-term price movement, bringing the rumor back up, unaware of the acquisition. People always try and rationalize short-term price movements, when often there is no rationale behind them. People are irrational by nature and buy/sell for their own personal reasons.

It should also be noted that Verifone is not Graft's only option. There are various integration options like Incognito( which Graft is currently working on) and Poynt.  There is also a whole industry built around merchant payment solutions, so there are multi avenues to pursue here. Even a private developer could decide to integrate the Graft POS app into generic Andriod based hardware terminals and sell them as a simple turnkey solution with similar functionality to the likes of Pundix- Anyone in the community could do this.  Remember that the Graft POS app with RTA will function on most Android devices- Using a traditional POS terminal( eg a Verifone terminal) is not a requirement, it's just an option.

Example of a generic android POS terminal: https://www.aliexpress.com/item/ZKC-PC901-Android-pos-terminal-with-free-SDK-support-3G-WIFI-Bluetooth-NFC-and-RFID-reader/32860910446.html?spm=2114.search0104.3.144.75cc2f22roW4Kp&ws_ab_test=searchweb0_0,searchweb201602_3_10152_10151_10065_10344_10068_5722815_10342_10547_10343_10340_5722915_10548_10341_5722615_10696_10084_10083_10618_10307_5722715_10059_306_100031_10103_10624_10623_10622_5722515_10621_10620,searchweb201603_6,ppcSwitch_5&algo_expid=c200a489-0c17-4912-bba1-4ce1a41ed0e9-23&algo_pvid=c200a489-0c17-4912-bba1-4ce1a41ed0e9&priceBeautifyAB=0

We want a method to allow new/experienced Cryptocurrency members to get involved, One of the most troublesome tasks is transferring your cryptocurrency to fiat and with new restrictions occuring on a daily basis. PrivatePay wants
to step in and remove the restrictions and difficulties. We strive to be User Friendly and providing applications that the not so tech savvy can use, Blockchain technology is wonderful and we believe that it can blossom
in the day to day life in the real world.

USE CASE
Jilian spends a lot of time mining PrivatePay and she's accumulated a large amount of coins, However... She is not that familiar with exchanging them to fiat and see's a lot of nasty fee's along the way. She decides to purchase a debit card from PrivatePay
which links to her address, Once setup she goes to the nearest ATM and withdraws her XPP directly from the machine and walks away happy. Later that month she notices her rent bill has bounced and decides to setup a direct debit with the in-house PrivatePay banking application.
When the bill is due to come out PrivatePay takes care of everything and her landlord is smiling once again.

WHY PRIVATEPAY
We are a talented team that have experience in all areas and the ability to drive this coin to be something wonderful. We strongly believe that community matters and we are always open to suggestions and opinions, We've sat and
watched many coins fail due to developers or the team not communicating with their clients - We will ensure this will not happen as we want to build our community with a positive vibe.

Where is the whitepaper?

"We have partnered with a company that offers a revolutionary service within the Cryptocurrency industry. They provide us with the ability to use Debit Cards, these cards link transactions directly into our blockchain.

XPP will be taken from your deposit balance and automatically sent to the 3rd Party API. You balance will then be sold instantly credited to your debit card. This method allows the user to instantly access funds via an ATM Machine and withdraw your funds or spend directly in a store"

Who are you partnered with? Please explain how this "revolutionary service" works and why we shouldn't just invest in this company that offers the "revolutionary service" instead of PrivatePay.

Who will be issuing the debit cards?  We know from other projects they can't be Visa/MC cards because they roadblock crypto transactions on their network. Hence all the issues with Litepay and TenX

10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Tokens (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][ICO] GRAFT - Universal Payment Processing Network on: May 22, 2018, 08:42:50 AM

That's pretty cool. So not only are Verifone acknowledging that Graft is going to be on their POS terminals. They are linking users directly to the graft website where they announced the Verifone verification and are also referring to it as "our announcement". Wow. Things are really starting to look good Graft. What a sleeper.

Crazy to think their market cap is still only 9 million when some other competitors have over 500 million in market cap, yet graft is the only one who has any genuine relationship with an industry giant in terms of POS terminals( eg Verifone). It's going to be so much easier for Graft to achieve any sort of mass adoption.

VERIFONE CERTIFICATION STATUS UPDATE

After working closely with the Verifone team over the last six months on developing and certifying GRAFT Network integration using Verifone’s brand new Connect application platform, we’re proud to announce passing of the main phase of the rigorous certification process as of the end of last week, making GRAFT one of the first applications on the platform, and first one to enable cryptocurrency payments using Verifone’s interactive series payment terminals.

The integration app is running on the RTA Testnet, so not yet compatible with the Mainnet (pending Full supernode release) and some of the configuration options are pending Verifone platfofrm updates, however the merchants and other eco-system participants can start testing things out, in preparation for the Mainnet launch.

Overall, we’re very happy to be partnering with Verifone, excited about the push into enabling altternative method of payment and other interactive application on their formidable new terminal platforms.

The payment terminal space is quickly emerging and going through a transformation of its own, both on the device level with a “Single Unit” (POS/Terminal) conversion, and on the software level with application platforms, opening up greater possibilities for innovation!

https://www.graft.network/2018/05/07/verifone-certification-update/
great news, btw what countries are verifone operating? Think it`s EU or..?
Think i need to change my mind on this project, but cannot buy more as dont trust too much for current exchanges available.

"Verifone is one of the world’s largest POS terminal vendors and a leading provider of payment and commerce solutions. We operate in more than 150 countries and employ nearly 6,000 people globally."

https://www.verifone.com/en/us/about

Verifone is HUGE, if you go to some local stores in your own country and check what their payment terminals are, there's a good chance alot of them will be Verifone terminals.

No other Crypto has integrated their payment network in a Verifone terminal app. Once Graft's RTA/ supernodes are live on Mainnet then it will be possible for a merchant to accept a payment in Crypto, and then for that payment to be settled in their native fiat currency, bypassing traditional payment network/ gateways.

This is really big news, hopefully, Graft stays under the radar for a bit longer so I have the chance to buy more at these low prices  Grin

According to the market specs (which i disagree with and can't help but wonder why the numbers aren't more flush and manageable) it would require over a billion dollars invested to the market to achieve a dollar standard per share. Thats a lot of high level investment. i simply don't see the preparedness of this project to accept or call in that much cash yet. if we get a spike, i couldn't say if it would run past 10 cents or how long it could sit around 25 cents before everyone who's been waiting since day one runs off to divest elsewhere. keep all of that in mind. i see the application, but we're still waiting for a firm foothold on the concept and the application that underlies the innovation.

No, it would not require a billion dollars invested to achieve a dollar $1 USD price tag.

Current coin price is 0.018 USD. From CMC, the circulating supply is around 168 million, so the current market cap is =  to 3 Million USD.

$1/ 0.018= 55.5
3 Million x 55.5= $166 Million.

So at the price of $1USD the current Graft market cap would be around 166 million, not 1 Billion.

Congrats to all ICO "investors". Price went through 200 sat, short term target is 100 satoshi and probably 0.
Never buy russian ICO. It's always a money grab, then scammers will blatantly run or continue feeding you with bullshit like "we want to make a product done". The product is always a bullshit and no one really interested in it and of course "product" does not cost the amount of money raised and never will even if it will be trading on NASDAQ or NYSE. All ICO "investor" want is a hype and pump, it will never happen with russian ICO. They are just not capable and not interested in bribing a bucket shop like binance or even cryptopia (lol). The tradeogre was probably a trick in order to kill it and render DOA. It's like getting rid of evidence. If they run it's a crime, failed project is a failed project, basically less years in a jail in worst case.

Also, I heard they are going to pour extra shitcoins on ICO suckers if this crap will not pump to ICO price this year. It will indeed hurt not only ICO morons, but also it will hurt those who think this coin is cheap at current price (> 90% discount from ICO).

But it wasn't even a Russian ICO. It was run out of the US. Both the founders also live in the US, were educated in the US and have extensive professional backgrounds working for US companies.

EXACTLY. U.S.A education is some of the worst in the entire developed world. It explains why none of the numbers really add up properly. The product exists, but it's barely online and the market was built on numbers that make little sense to the public.

Lol. So now the problem is not that it was a "Russian ICO"( which it wasn't), but the problem is the founders were educated in the US. What total nonsense.

I tested yesterday the 1.4.2 version (I didn't see the 1.4.3 before go to work). Ya, it's faster! The tunning is a bit different from 1.3.x, but with some intensity play everything is better than expected.

Graft is setup to list on Stocks.exchange within the next couple of weeks.  Not a great exchange, but a step up from TradeOgre. Around 6 months until Graft is listed on Binance.

I thought You arrange something more reputable than Stocks.Exchange . I think that this project deserve to be more visible and adopted. Binance in six months? SIX months in crypto is like decade in real world...

At this stage, it's quite clear that the team is investing all their time/ and funding into the development of the core project( Implementing Real-time Authorizations/ Supernodes),  not into marketing/ advertising( like so many others). They also don't want to go forking out big $ to prematurely list on a top-tier exchange when the core development side is not handled yet.

Stocks.Exchange isn't a great listing, it's more of a short term fix. However, there is a negligible listing cost and it's a step up from TradeOgre( Total Exchange volume is larger, spreads are tighter).  It's also better than just having Graft listed on single( questionable) exchange.

Graft is an innovative project and is very much under the radar at the moment. This is largely because has been zero hype from the team- They are all about development and creating a real product/ solution. They also struggle to articulate what they are actually trying to implement.

Graft is essentially creating new payment gateway at POS( point of sale), that has the option to, but does not require the use of a traditional CC gateway/ processor, or the use of a debit/ credit card( It can all be done in real time via APPs).  It's also quite different from other Cryptonote/ Cryptonight forks, or Payment solutions( Tenx/ litepay etc). Graft is implementing a decoupled PoW/ PoS, with supernodes that profit from real-time authorization( transactions at POS)- This is a large/ challenging development task.  They are integrating their own decentralized payment network/ ecosystem into a traditional POS terminal app for the likes of Verifone & Incognito merchant terminals. In doing so they have the option to bypass the traditional CC gateway and use their own API(DAPI) to process transactions via(RTA) through the Graft network/ ecosystem.  This means they won't get knocked back by card issuers like other competitors Litepay/ Tenx etc( in fact they were never really true competitors) , because, unlike them, Graft is not relying on credit card/debit cards or a traditional gateway/ processors to facilitate transactions.

Has anyone read the book "Blue Ocean Strategy" ? Graft is creating a Blue ocean.

We are woking with other exchanges , some small some big .
Many have backlog which can take up to SIX months to get listed.

Graft team current priority is to bring the product and network to operational state , thus releasing the RTA/Super-nodes following by payment terminals and service brokers.
Please note we are actively working on additional exchange listing to support the payment network and the ecosystem/product.

It is great to have an authorized person here what can respond really fast. Bu, Your answers had direct impact to GRAFT price. If You said that You will be listed in SIX months, and that Exchange is not a priority the price suffer. Look the price drop at Tradeogre, 235 satoshies.
There is a lot of Graft investors who keep their Grafts for supernodes. But why they open a supernode if the income will be very low...
Thank You for participating.

We do have CLI wallet  which you can download and compile .
Is the problem that you do not wish to compile ? If so use GUI wallet.

am try find info how to make wallet for windows, no matter GUI or CLI... spend ~20 min before find where and how...
am understand that no time... ICO.. alpha, mobile wallet and etc...
You need add more clear link not for MAKE YOURSELF if you need, but precompiled for x32 \ x64 and etc

I apologize but i have hard time understanding the ask/question  .
Let me rephrase to make sure i got you correctly ;

You are asking for a precompiled CLI wallet for Windows/Linux ?

how it work:
1. open web Graft
2. open download wallet
3. click link for windows CLI and\or GUI wallet

how for now:
1. open web Graft
2. open download wallet
3. MAKE YOURSELF over VM \ BOX \ compile and other things which lost much time
4. try to find maybe am not careful checking\finding - nothing on web
5. try find on github ... find source for graft-wallet-generator - no solution
6. try find any info on reddit, find complete link for windows wallet from noname (not know what inside virus\crypt\backdoor or etc)
7. make third try to find any complete wallet from Graft team (now even not remember.. find on some BLOG short link to compiled CLI wallet)

lost much time(and i think not only am)... and is not good things....

All.

The team is working to have a published compiled client (Ubuntu & Windows ).
Once we complete the clients will be available to download directly from our main website.

Thanks

Great. Should not be hard for a developer to do. I have not compiled a cli wallet before but used many from different coins which I prefer.

Current UNOFFICIAL wallet which was compiled by one of our community members.

Just compile the dam wallet and make it official. It's a 5min task for one of your ex Monero devs.
