1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [B3] B3Coin | POS/POD | Self Moderated Thread on: November 01, 2019, 12:05:56 PM
Yes i have listened to the recent team meeting, and I can sense frustration in Habenero's voice maybe thats to do with the lack of funding which was mentioned in previous meetings. The project just doesn't seem have legs and theres a lack of clarity which I mentioned in my previous post. This just looks like a pet project with no roadmap no whitepaper just all talk no action which is shame. Since the team took over around January 2018 and now where in end of October lets say November by the time you read this thats 1 year and 10 months since this new team took over, with no whitepaper no roadmap. It's just a ghost coin right now everyones just forgotten about this project moved on. If the team are not 100 percent committed in kb3 please just do the right thing and leave this project and let it die because there is no advantages in working on a project when you have not achieved anything in it.

lol ... there is also no benefit for anyone holding the coin to the Team just moving on and letting it die.  If what you say is true, the results are the same, but if they can make something of B3 then everyone who held is rewarded, yes?  If they have the drive to work on this in their spare time, to me, that shows a passion and commitment beyond that of someone being paid to sit at a desk and pump out a product.  Sure, understandable why that product would come out sooner, but not sure that means that it is better ... in fact, while the ICO apparatchik MIGHT be excited and driven to create something new and special, the volunteer group is far more likely to due so, given equal skills ... but that is just my opinion.

If everyone has forgotten about this project, then I assume we aren't really having this conversation, but if we are, I am wondering why you haven't moved on, given your sentiments.  ... not saying you should or shouldn't be here ... everyone has to make their own decisions ... but just curious.

This coin has no substance, I have been monitoring its progress the past year, and the team are not very sociable and clear with the direction of the project. I would stay away from kb3 many hodlers got burnt holding it in the beginning of 2018 its a real shame how its ended like this.

While I agree that the Team has been playing their cards close to their chest, I believe if you listen to the community meeting recordings you will hear their reasons for doing that and are in the best interest of those who are holding B3.  As far as the direction of the project, though, what they are working on clearly stated (again, directly from Team leads Habaner0, Kdog, and Josh) are fixes to the node system, core updates to the wallet, and a DEX.  It is taking time for two reasons -  First, they are not just copying and pasting another project's code and labling it the B3 DEX ... they are working it from the bottom up. Second, they are doing it on a volunteer basis with no development funds ... this means everyone still needs to keep their day jobs and support themselves and their families while working on B3 in their spare time.  Of course this second reason is not ideal, but to me it shows a level of commitment to the project that is encouraging.

I grant you, this type of bootstrap venture is not for everyone, nor is it something anyone is suggesting you should go all in on, but for me my relatively small investment in B3 Coin has secured me a nice position that I am happy to hold for now.

I bought in 2017.  I would say those who feel they got burned in 2018 perhaps were not paying attention in High School history class and so did not understand what hyper inflation caused by 10,000% returns would mean.  They obviously bought the coin because of the hype brought about by that promotion period, and not because of any features of the coin or promise that they held ... because those features are still here and are still promising, and are the reason I held past the end of 10k%, past each and every problem point B3 has lived through, and occasionally buy more.

It may work ... it may not ... if you are looking for guarantees you are going to be searching for a long time.  Frankly, I thought we would be a whole lot further down the road to mass adoption by now, but governments are kicking and screaming enough that who knows if I'll see that in my lifetime.  No matter ... but in my opinion, B3 has not "ended" until there is no longer anyone working to make something of it.

Everyone has to make their own decisions ... but there you are.

Each time the sky "falls in" the present Team has kept a positive outlook and continued working, as far as I can see.  I think CoinExchange closing took everyone by surprise, and I believe the Team is looking for an exchange to fill the void (although B3 is still traded on CryptoBridge ... all be it under the name BIII due to the fact that when it got listed there they didn't accept numbers), but the main focus is of course building B3's own exchange, so ....

I lost a lot of money for this project.  I think the future of the coin will not go anywhere and serve nothing.  Things written in roadmap are not enforced and this is the worst.

Hmmm ... I think crypto is still in its infancy, and knowing what the future 5 or 10 years ahead will hold is impossible.  I think that this Team, while lacking the resources to proceed quickly, are never the less proceeding in developing this coin, and are doing so in a sensible manner given their circumstances.  I also think that there are many needs yet to be served in the blossoming cryptosphere, and B3 Coin could very well be one of them, and so, while I see the money I put into B3 Coin as a risk, I know that no investment with a guarantee offers very much reward.

I am sorry that you lost a lot of money (which I am taking to mean that you sold, because, of course, you don't lose anything until you cash out), but those are the risks anyone takes when investing.  For my part, I am staying in and seeing where the B3 Team can take this thing.

I wish you luck in your future ventures.

Dev team consider partnering with CryptoHashTank POS/MN Service as listing is free

I will make sure the developers notice this suggestion, but after the way StakeUnited closed its pools with only 2 weeks notice and swallowed all coins not withdrawn by then, I am not sure they are going to change their stance on discouraging B3 Coin holders from 3rd party staking pools ... and with the nature of fundamental nodes and the fact that the principal investment is destroyed in the creation, I am not sure a pool catering to traditional master nodes would work in an individuals best interest.

Any news here? I am not on discord is coin alive?

The Team is still heads down working on an FN revamp, core wallet updates, and of course, the DEX.  Habaner0, Kdog and Josh can still be seen on the Discord.

It has to be remembered that work proceeds on a volunteer, unpaid basis, so everyone has to maintain their "day jobs" and can't devote their full attention to this project, but all repeatedly maintain that they remain committed to making something special.

Hey, ... I mentioned StakeUnited recently as the only site I was aware of that ran B3 staking pools ... well .....

B3COIN COMMUNITY AWARENESS ANNOUNCEMENT - StakeUnited IS CLOSING ON 1/9/2019 @ 6am EST

It has come to the team's attention that StakeUnited (a third party staking/masternode pool service provider) will be ending their services on January 9, 2019 @ 6am EST.

It is important to note and remind our community that we don't endorse or affiliate with any third party staking services.  With that said, we understand that there may be members of our community that could be utilizing their services and we would like to give our community this update.

If you are an individual who is using StakeUnited, it is up to you to conduct your own due diligence in order to withdraw your coins from their platform. Our team is not in direct communication with their team in regards to this matter and cannot provide any assistance into the withdrawal of your B3Coins.

This should be yet another reminder to keep your own coins under your control, not in exchanges or in third party pools.

If you would like to learn more about staking coins in your own wallet, that information can be found in the #wallet-faq-guides channel - B3 discord (https://discord.gg/59EVBVR).

Gentlemen in the team, please tell at what stage of B3 development we are?

Although a bit of information, please.

Hello -- We remain heads down working on:  core update, node update, dex.

Thank you!

Hello,

Are you pushing the update to the github?

Thanks You!

Hey Sam, no one seems to have answered your question, so I'll have a go based on what has been said on the #community-meetings channel on the B3 discord -

At present, most of the work is proceeding on a private github server.  The reasons for this are as follows:

It should be pretty well known by anyone who has looked into B3 Coin that there are no development funds.  The BCT announcement clearly said at the very beginning the project was “Anti-Instamine, No Pre-mine, No ICO, No IPO” …. That means no funds for the team behind the coin and no development funds.  The only attempt to rectify that was by this Team, but was blocked by someone we all thought we could trust … not going to talk about that except to illustrate that even with that major setback – this Team continues to work away at a volunteer’s pace.  This makes us the little guys … the underdog.  How can we compete with a Bitfinex, or another well-funded project?  By keeping our cards close to our chests.  If Kdog pushes code for innovative features to the public Github, what is to keep better funded projects who are going to get their DEX to market before us from saying “oh, nice” and taking that feature into their DEX?  Likewise, saying in the discord that the DEX will have “X”, which will set us apart from the crowd, or releasing screenshots, quite possibly could encourage others to work those features into their product.  It doesn’t make any sense, and honestly, keeping quiet about the development is the only smart move.

I guess it is POS. so could some one tell me please whats the staking rate of B3 coin and  from which pool I can do staking...

As I don't have offline wallet . So I am looking online  staking pooling ....

Any response would be appreciated..

The current staking rate (which will be in effect for 6-7 years I believe at present block rate) is 20% annual.  That is shared with the node holders, so the effective rate is 8% annual.  As far as a staking pool, I know StakeUnited used to support B3 (kB3), and I think there are others, but I know the Team is hesitant to endorse sending your coins somewhere you don't hold the private keys for an extended period.  Not saying any particular group is untrustworthy, but giving someone complete control over your money is a great way of losing it.

Your wallet generates left addresses that do not receive money from the exchange.
How can I get my money back?

My suspicion is that your wallet is on the wrong chain, which should be an easy fix but will need to know a bit more and will probably require some dialog ... so, in my opinion - you should go to the discord, wallet help channel (https://discord.gg/umES69M) and when there, tell them your problem, the wallet version (if you are not on v3.1.2.2.that is your first problem), and maybe follow these steps to check if you are on the correct chain:

1)      Go to https://chainz.cryptoid.info/b3/ and find the most recent block.  Click on that block number.  The next page will list a block hash.
2)      In your wallet, go to Help Menu ->Debug Window->Console Tab
3)      Type in getblockhash  followed by the block number you looked up on crypto id
4)      Confirm the hash on the wallet console matches the hash from the web page.
5)      If they match … you are on the correct chain.  If they don’t you are not ….

So at block 149227 now, this will be at 20% for a couple years still.

  80,001 -  110,000  = 100%
   110,001 - 1,000,000 = 20%
 1,000,001 -  infinity  = 5%

several years, yes .... remember, though that you share staking rewards with the FNs, 60-40 ... so the staker gets 8% not counting compounding.

Oh, so the people running the masternodes get part of what the stakers are getting?  why not just say the stakers get 8%.

not sure how that system came into being, but I have seen it in other coins as well .... maybe because the blocks in the blockchain originate with the stakers (in PoS coins) while the nodes function to stabilize the blockchain.  Also, maybe because in most coins the blockchain is set up and initially released with the reward structure, and then the masternodes are added later ... which is what happened in this case.

Hey. Does this project work at all? I was interested in his description.

Well, the DEX doesn't work yet as it is still in development, but Proof of Disintegration has been implemented for quite a while now, in the creation of Fundamental Nodes (like a Master Node, except the fee for creation is completely removed from the blockchain through PoD), and works exactly as described.  As new aspects of the coin are rolled out, PoD will be implemented more.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [B3] B3Coin | POS/POD | Self Moderated Thread on: August 10, 2018, 07:05:08 PM
Why do you believe this project is a scam? because the price went down?
If you bought B3 before it was renamed to kB3, you have maybe lose the same amount or more as people who bought in December.
As 1000 B3Coin = 1 kB3 which is now 1 B3Coin...
They did it after the fall of the price as the coin was POS with a reward of 10000% per year...
We can't see the graph of the original price of B3. But it fells from something like 1000 satochis to near 1 satochi...
Getting more rewards doesn't help a coin. Don't buy a coin which promise you a lot of rewards, as the price might adapt with the number of coins.
It is like BitConnect which promised a lot of interest.
I still have thoses coins which are worthless now. I bought them at 23 satochi. Maybe i invested 0.001 BTC, but now they are worth with the interest only 0.0002 BTC. I can't imagine the loss for people who bought at 1000 satochis the original coin.
I don't sell them in hope that it increase in price, but i don't know if it is going to be possible to recuperate the loss.

Funny, I always thought a scam was people taking your money and running ... not you buying something from a third party (not from the devs, btw ... there never was an ICO so you bought from people who either mined the coin during the PoW phase, acquired it from PoS, or bought it on the open market), and then having the price go down.  The second scenario isn't a scam ... at worst it is a poor investment, and I don't think it is even that, in this case ... I'll explain why in a second.

Like you said, buying a coin that has a 10,000% staking reward is a gamble.  If you are looking to make a fast return, you can, if you sell at the right time.  Devs who implement such a reward scheme could be looking to cash out their coins during the hype/pump of the high reward period ... that is not what happened here, as the main creator/dev is still around and still working on the coin ... and like I said, there never was an ICO ... no pre-mine ... no insta-mine  ... so he never had any vast number of coins to dump.  He implemented the high reward period to build the supply and allow everyone the ability to acquire, with the knowledge that there would be a hyper inflation period that followed (perhaps not to this extent ... the staking pools were not anticipated, and were more successful than anyone imagined).  While the bear market that all crypto is in is seriously pushing things perhaps further than anticipated, this period was foreseen as a continuation of the acquisition phase of this coin, while the plan to reduce the supply and increase the price was put into effect though the completely unique system known as Proof of Disintegration (PoD).  This completely removes the coins involved from the blockchain (not locking them away but leaving them in the system as in Proof of Burn), and is being used during the creation of fundamental nodes.  As this is implemented in more aspects of the B3 Coin ecosystem, this coin will become a "Supply Disintegration Machine" to quote one of the Project Leads ... and along with the DEX that is in the works, should build demand and increase the price of the coin.

There are no guarantees in this kind of investment, but there is a plan, and I personally think the plan is a good one, which is why I am holding my B3 Coin.  You can hear all about the plans and what the Team is doing to get there by listening to the community meeting recordings (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4r1kfFZ6rezVwAWj0mnaXA), or even by attending the community meetings live on the discord (https://discord.gg/aZkBvRw) where you can hear Habaner0 and Kdog tell you what they are doing live and ask them whatever questions you may have.

Then, if you don't think it is worth holding, you should probably take what you can and get out, but what you shouldn't do is come in here to a public forum and bad mouth a coin you are hoping to see go up in value ... that just doesn't make any sense and is not in your best interest, or mine.

Is this coin alive?
How to calculate the percentage of PoS?

The coin is alive.  There are recordings of the bi-weekly community meetings on the discord (https://discord.gg/aZkBvRw) as well as posted on Jim Hopper's YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC4r1kfFZ6rezVwAWj0mnaXA) where you can catch up on what the Team is doing.

As far as the staking rate, at present the rate is 20% annual, which is shared (60/40) with the FNs ... so the effective rate without compounding is 8% annual.  If you have any questions on how to stake, you can find info on the discord - wallet FAQ channel.

hello,

I´m with B3 since the early days. Last months I was abroad and lost track. It is great to see that there is that much development at the moment.
Thx for that

I still have my old wallet of the end of 2017. This coins are still valid? was there some swap?

THX

You should update the wallet.  Always a good idea with all crypto is to keep the most current wallet, but especially with developing coins as changes in the wallet code can leave you on dead chains if you don't update.

No actual swap, just a notation thing, like IOTA did.  Most everywhere you look, and all the exchanges are now showing B3 coin as kB3 - which is a block of 1000 B3.  When you get the new wallet, you will be able to set the display (settings - options - display) to show either B3 or kB3, whichever you like, but again - remember CMC and blockchain explorer and all the exchanges are displaying in kB3 now.

To update your wallet -

1)      Backup your old wallet.
2)      Download the version appropriate to your operating system (https://github.com/B3-Coin/B3-CoinV2/releases/latest).
3)      Close your old wallet.
4)      Go to your B3-CoinV2 folder.  (depending on your operating system) –
     a)     Windows - type %appdata% in Search Box (bottom left side of your screen - next to windows logo)
     b)     Mac - On the Finder Tab, go to the Menu Bar (Top Left of your MAC Screen) and click on the Go menu.   Open the Go to Folder menu (short command – cmd+shift+G) and type in ~/Library/Application Support/B3-CoinV2
     c)      Linux - (~/.B3-CoinV2/)
5)      Delete all files EXCEPT your wallet.dat file
6)      Run the file you just downloaded in step 2
7)      Launch your new wallet and let it sync (this could take some time).

Don’t forget to update any shortcuts you have to your old wallet.

Note for FN Wallets - Please ensure you run fundamentalnode start to start your FN after wallet syncs

... as always, you can get help on the Discord - Wallet-Help channel ... https://discord.gg/umES69M

Good luck in your crypto adventures!
