Haven Protocol V3 Announcement Fork Date: 2:15 PM 14th June 2018 (NZDT/GMT +12) 2:15 AM 14th June 2018 (GMT) 10:15 PM 13th June 2018 (New York/GMT -4) 7:15 PM 13th June 2018 (California/GMT -7) Block Height: 89200 Wallet Downloads https://github.com/havenprotocol/haven/releases/tag/3.0.0Mining Software: -Yes you will have to update. Currently, we have been in contact with xmr-stak, srbminer and cast-xmr. I have a complied version of xmr-stak that will work with Cryptonight Haven and auto switch. xmr-stak - https://github.com/fireice-uk/xmr-stak/pull/1639cast-xmr - https://github.com/glph3k/cast_xmr/issues/4srbminer - DM'd us directly. We will announce when new mining software is available Whats included in this hardfork? CryptoNight Haven Algorithm - This is a tweak on the cryptonight heavy algorithm we are currently using that will once again make us incompatible with nicehash. This is important while we are a growing network to ensure cheap power can't be rented to dominate the network hash. Governance Fee - As voted by the community, a 5% governance fee will be added to the block reward. This fee will be used to pay for Listings, Lawyers and Developers to ramp up the project. Difficulty Algorithm Adjustments - Updates to the diff algorithm help ensure better block timings and security against attacks.(edited)

Well, every coin is different, and dev concentrate on what they think is right. If every coin provide the same, there is no reason to have many
Agree with you, thin. Every crypto investors should do their own researches about projects they interested in, find out essential stuffs about projects by themselves before deciding to invest money or not. There are lots of helpful tools in both the Internet and the forum. This is a difference between a successful coin and a failed one, launch it and the users who come to try to figure out how the code, wallet, etc works, there is almost no material on the internet about XHV, the documentation would help exactly in that, researches about XHV attracting new investors, but by your thinking, investors should be only professional developers who will find out all the coin features on their own because I doubt that a "normal user" will be able to do so, at least the vast majority. Well said. A lot of CN coins could do with improving this. Exactly, i develop some applications for other coins easily just by searching the official websites (forum, github), now from XHV I gave up, the little that I was able to develop was based on the Monero and Loki and the developers do not answer any queries regarding the bugs found. Zero support from the team Haven Protocol. Our current code, at least the parts that require documentation will line up with XMR. We cant keep track of all comments said everywhere so the best way to contact us is in the discord that we check regularly.

guys,
is the havenwallet.com supposed to be working now? trying to login using my private login key (=pass phrase of bunch of words) and it gives me an "Error connecting to the backend. Can't login." below the enter my account button.
would be kinda nice to see that a week worth of mining is actually there...
The official online wallet used to be managed by core devs, then it was handed off but is ultimately discontinued. The server costs needed to provide that service at the volume we had were astronomical. You can download an offical wallet and log in with your key there by selecting "Restore from seed": https://github.com/havenprotocol/haven/releases/tag/2.1.0

how can i solve this?
thnx
This is an old version. You will need to update to the latest 2.1.0 here: https://github.com/havenprotocol/haven/releases/tag/2.1.0

Haven implements a great idea in a clever way, but I have a few questions about how it is going to work in practice, mainly around the issue of TRUST, which is very important for this coin
- When retrieving from offshore, how will the exchanges be chosen to calculate the correct number of coins to mine? I can imagine that this coin is not exactly government-friendly, so what if it has been 6 months and all the original exchanges were shut down, and now there are some new exchanges?
- Presumably in answer to the above question there is some sort of registration system for incorporating new exchanges into the protocol. Who gets to decide which exchanges are bona fide exchanges to be incorporated and which not? There seems to be some issues of third party trust here, which blockchain is supposed to avoid. How will fraudulent or potentially fraudulent exchanges be handled? What about exchanges set up by governments explicitly to manipulate the price? Very likely if the coin is perceived as an actual threat - which it will be if it is successful.
- What if all the original exchanges were shut down and there are no more exchanges at all when funds are brought back? What would the fall-back position be to decide on the number of coins to mine? Or would all funds simply be irretrievable in that scenario?
- Cryptoasset prices can be very volatile. What about the delay between issuing the command to retrieve funds, and the completion of all the mining? The price could change in that time, perhaps significantly, especially if manipulated by governments (if considered an actual, real threat). Will the amount to be mined be continually updated throughout mining? Won't there be the danger of mining too much? Or too little? Does the coin holder simply take on some price risk here? I thought the coin was supposed to avoid that?
- How will the mining pools to be used decided on? Pools come into and go out of existence. Would the coin holder simply be able to decide which pools? Or will the protocol itself set up virtual pools on chain as the need arises?
For someone interested in sending a significant amount of money offshore, these are very live questions. Although the coin implements a really nice, clever idea, I think it will be hard to build a robust offshore storage system that people can really trust with significant quantities of funds.
When retrieving from offshore, how will the exchanges be chosen to calculate the correct number of coins to mine? I can imagine that this coin is not exactly government-friendly, so what if it has been 6 months and all the original exchanges were shut down, and now there are some new exchanges? The Haven decentralised orcale, which will determine the current price, will be updated to include the new exchanges. The current thinking is that this wont be apart of the Haven core code, so its not like we'd need to hardfork Haven just to add more exchanges. Presumably in answer to the above question there is some sort of registration system for incorporating new exchanges into the protocol. The devs will decide which exchange API to reference, same as how we update Haven Core, so we aren't going to reference those exchanges. We can also reference other pricing api's where Haven is listed. i.e. CoinMarketCap, CoinGecko, LiveCoinWatch, Blockfolio etc What if all the original exchanges were shut down and there are no more exchanges at all when funds are brought back? What would the fall-back position be to decide on the number of coins to mine? Or would all funds simply be irretrievable in that scenario? The protocol will just use the last known price (each block has the current price) although its pretty unlikley we'd lose all exchanges at once. We'd utilise decentralised exchanges which can't just be shut down. Cryptoasset prices can be very volatile. The new coins aren't mined, they are 'minted' instantly. This is treated just like a regular transaction so it will need to be in a block too and thus would take the same amount of time. How will the mining pools to be used decided on? Pools come into and go out of existence. Would the coin holder simply be able to decide which pools? Or will the protocol itself set up virtual pools on chain as the need arises?Addressed above, the new coins aren't mined so no need for a pool

I've stopped receiving coins to my wallet and the deamon shows the following errors, any pointers on how to trouble shoot? 2018-05-06 22:57:05.069 [RPC0] ERROR cn src/cryptonote_basic/cryptonote_format_utils.cpp:133 Failed to parse transaction from blob 2018-05-06 22:57:05.085 [RPC0] ERROR daemon.rpc src/rpc/core_rpc_server.cpp:169 Failed to parse and validate tx from blob 2018-05-06 22:57:19.116 [RPC0] ERROR cn src/cryptonote_basic/cryptonote_format_utils.cpp:133 Failed to parse transaction from blob 2018-05-06 22:57:19.116 [RPC0] ERROR daemon.rpc src/rpc/core_rpc_server.cpp:169 Failed to parse and validate tx from blob 2018-05-06 22:57:31.068 [RPC1] ERROR cn src/cryptonote_basic/cryptonote_format_utils.cpp:133 Failed to parse transaction from blob 2018-05-06 22:57:31.068 [RPC1] ERROR daemon.rpc src/rpc/core_rpc_server.cpp:169 Failed to parse and validate tx from blob There is reference here to the error and mention of the Monero fork https://monero.stackexchange.com/questions/7254/failed-to-parse-transaction-from-blob-failed-to-validate-transaction-from-daemo however these errors came from the most recent 2.1.0 version wallet from here https://github.com/havenprotocol/haven/releasesStart by typing flush_txpool in your daemon. Restart it and see if error continues. If that doesn't work you may have to clear chain and resync. You could also always use one of the remote nodes: eu-remote.havenprotocol.com OR us-remote.havenprotocol.com For both use port 17750.

Why was the Haven online wallet removed from the website? The Windows GUI wallet doesn't work as I am not able to send coins out and syncing the wallet to the blockchain locally is such a pain. When will you re-instate the online wallet?
What issue are you having with the windows wallet? You can always use a remote node to avoid having to download the blockchain. our remote nodes are eu-remote.havenprotocol.com OR us-remote.havenprotocol.com For both use port 17750.

[P2P7] ERROR blockchain src/cryptonote_core/blockchain.cpp:3181 !!!!!!!!! difficulty overhead !!!!!!!!!
on ubuntu cli wallet..
Everyone that had the sync error you are probably running version 2.0.0 You should update to 2.1.0 and syncing will continue as normal. https://github.com/havenprotocol/haven/releases/tag/2.1.0

How do I connect to the wallet? I'm having issues starting the daemon and when I put in a remote node and press connect, nothing happens
Try starting havend.exe manually, if it isn't there your antivirus probably deleted and you will need to redownload. The remote node address is remote.havenprotocol.com port: 17750

hello.! are you gonna fix the problem with the online wallet? i put this address to mining haven. i must change it?
I need my money for electricity!!?? When the wallet will start working?? Are we robbed? The web wallet is a down for server upgrades and fixes. You should download an actual Haven wallet as is always recommended. I know what I have to do.... The wallet did not work properly a week before you turned it off. Ten days have passed. Where is my money? Any news about the wallet? When we will be able to pick up our coins from the wallet? Please answer to me. This is not normal and this situation is very weird. The web wallet has been handed off to be run by another developer now as it became unviable to manage with the increased network load as you mentioned there were frequent crashes. The web wallet should never be used alone. You should download a local wallet from the website.

Web wallet is down?
Yep. And when I downloaded the 2.0.1 wallet and select restore and use the seed phrase from the online wallet.... at that point the windows gui wallet does then contain the address that my online wallet had BUT balance shows zero despite syncing all day, and my online balance should not have been zero (cryptoknight shows payments to that address) You won't see a balance until you are fully synced. If you are fully synced and still can't see your balance try clearing the cache by heading to settings page and clicking wallet creation height. Make sure its on 0 and then hit save.
