1  Economy / Services / Re: WANTED: Dev to port bitcore for Dash-based coin on: March 21, 2018, 10:54:04 PM
Forgot to mention: It's fine to take this in stages - i.e., port bitcore library first; then bitcore node; then add insight; finally, add copay - it doesn't have to be a monolithic effort.
2  Economy / Services / WANTED: Dev to port bitcore for Dash-based coin on: March 21, 2018, 07:12:29 PM
Do you have experience adapting bitcore for alternative cryptocurrencies? Or, do you have experience developing with bitcore and a high confidence that you could adapt it for use with a Dash-based coin?

I would like to have bitcore ported for use with my Dash-based coin (technically you'd probably start with the source for the Dash version of bitcore). I want insight (block explorer) and CoPay (wallet) running in addition to a bitcore node.

Please PM or reply here if you have the ability to do this.
3  Economy / Services / Can you modify Electrum for my altcoin? on: March 13, 2018, 05:25:55 AM
If you know Electrum well, please PM me. I would like to hire you to create an Electrum wallet for my altcoin. I will provide all the details you need.
4  Bitcoin / Project Development / I'm offering 1 BTC (!) for top Dash contributor's consultation on: March 05, 2018, 06:26:09 AM
Are you...

1) Among the top contributors to the Dash source?
https://github.com/dashpay/dash/graphs/contributors

2) Interested in consulting on an alternative project based on Dash?

3) Available starting now?

Then 1 bitcoin (or the equivalent in Dash, if you prefer) can be yours to compensate you for a week of your time reviewing, advising, developing, debugging and generally helping out with our experimental effort based on Dash 12.2.

Please PM me with your GitHub username if you qualify, are interested, and have the time to help. NOTE: You must agree to using Bitrated as escrow.
5  Economy / Services / Security review for new altcoin on: February 21, 2018, 10:40:44 PM
Looking for a blockchain/cryptocurrency expert - particularly an expert in Dash. I would like somebody to perform a code review of a new altcoin based on Dash (v0.12.2.x), paying specific attention to difficulty algo, subsidy reward scaling, etc.

PM me if you are available and have the requisite skills.
6  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / SegWit compatibility on: February 02, 2018, 08:59:07 PM
As I understand it, SegWit is a soft fork since it doesn't change the block size - just the format of a block. If that's so, how is compatibility maintained? Let's say you have old mining and wallet software that has not been modified to support SegWit. What happens when those things encounter a SegWit-formatted block? It seems like they just wouldn't know what to do with it. Is that true?
7  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Understanding Lightning Network in practice on: February 02, 2018, 08:51:15 PM
I'm trying to understand how Lightning Network will work in practice. As I understand it, there are three benefits: (1) Fast transactions; (2) reduced transaction fees (enabling micro-transactions); and, (3) reduced impact on the blockchain since there are fewer actual blockchain transactions. Please let me know if I'm missing something there.

My question is this: Isn't it the case that LN only works well if there are lots of transactions in a channel? That is, if Alice sends 0.00001 BTC to Carol via Bob, and that's the only transaction in that channel in, say, a month, then benefits #2 & #3 above don't really apply since you effectively have a 1-to-1 relationship between a LN transaction and a blockchain transaction. Is that correct?
