The DNS server does not record any logs
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LTC][Pool][PPLNS][STRATUM] - ltc.kattare.com - burnside's Mining Pool on: December 09, 2013, 11:49:09 PM
I just logged in and noticed that the transaction fee is now 0.1 LTC!!! I thought 0.05 was pretty expensive but this is ridiculous! At the current value of LTC it costs me > $3 USD just to get my coins out of the pool. This combined with the unreliability of the web site may mean it's time to find another pool.  Undecided
3  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie restrictions.. on: December 09, 2013, 11:34:38 PM
I've been on the board 4 hours and 14 minutes and have 6 posts, and I still can't post anywhere but the newbies section. This has to be the most restrictive forum I've ever been on and I'm about to give up and go elsewhere if I don't get the restrictions lifted soon. I understand the need to keep spammers out, but this is ridiculous!
4  Other / Beginners & Help / New USA namecoin DNS server on: December 04, 2013, 02:45:42 AM
Hi all,

I would like to announce my new USA/New York namecoin DNS server. Set your DNS settings on your computer or router to enable access to .bit websites.

You can find out more info at coinname.org
5  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Burnside's Litecoin Pool Website Down on: December 04, 2013, 02:26:42 AM
I've been mining with them for almost a year and website outages seem to be pretty common. The mining servers usually stay up though. I've been trying to get into the site all day today as well. 24 hours seems a bit excessive.
6  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is BTC-e scamming you? on: December 04, 2013, 02:18:55 AM
BTC-e is shady in other ways as well. A few weeks ago they announced they were going to de-list TRC and FTC because of low volume, which naturally caused a panic sell-off. Within two hours they backpedaled on FTC and said they made a mistake and they weren't going to de-list FTC. Lots of people lost lots of money over that one. They have since backpedaled on TRC as well. A bad part about the whole fiasco is that instead of posting a news update with some kind of explanation, they just deleted the original news announcement entirely and pretended like the whole thing never happened.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: litecoin on: December 03, 2013, 04:25:00 PM
Litecoin is growing in anticipation of it being listed on Mt.Gox exchange. Several months ago Mt.Gox confirmed that they would be adding Litecoin after they get their platform upgraded, which should be happening any time now.
8  Other / Beginners & Help / Hello from coinname.bit on: December 03, 2013, 04:16:38 PM
Hi all,
I have been lurking for awhile now and finally decided to create an account and get involved in some discussions. I have been dabbling with bitcoin and alt currencies for about a year now and have made some decent profits mining and trading.

I would also like to mention that I have recently set up a new USA/New York namecoin DNS server at coinname.org (coinname.bit) for all of those interested in namecoin and .bit domains!
9  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bitcoin monster server! on: December 03, 2013, 04:05:22 PM
I would not give them any money until they prove those machines exist.

It is a gamble for sure, but if you wait until there is proof that they exist, it is already too late. There will be too many orders in front of you and by the time you get your miner, it will not be profitable any more. Butterfly Labs orders ran into the same problem. I ordered my Jalapeno late and it took 6 months to get it. Now I'm only getting ~0.004 BTC per day with it, having spent ~$170 on the miner. It will take a while to pay for itself at that rate.
