Nightowlace, the global scam buster, what should we do about this one?

Chainsaw and I spoke on the phone today. I reached out to forum user aerobatic whom lives in the UK and is also a longtime customer of mine. He has told us to contact the Edinburgh PD directly (picking up phone cards to handle that). He said they take fraud very seriously in the UK and considering the amount would love to make front page news busting the guy who too half million dollars in Bitcoin.

So far we have his address, bank account info, real name, and phone numbers he has used. Pretty much all the same info we have on you that we are using to file charges against you.

Add me: he took 3 btc from me with the promise to pay and never paid. I've been following this thread, just haven't posted til now.

Look at the "It's a trap" picture on this guy's facebook page (David Williamson from Edinburgh) posted on December 28th:
https://www.facebook.com/david.williamson.1610?fref=browse_search

I looked through the 12 people tagged in the pic, but couldn't find too much. This guy looks like and talks like the dirtbag that took us all.

Can you do Xoom tx? they do accept credit cards!

I've never used it to be honest.

There is a first for everything. If interested tell me. I will give you market current prices.

IDK. never used it so id rather stay away.

I can however go and buy a moneypak for those who want a moneypak. (This would be escrowed - been ripped off before)

Thanks

Any interest in doing western union? I can help you out immediately and will negotiate on price to cover fees. PM me if interested. Thanks!
4  Economy / Currency exchange / Re: WTB: 1.5 BTC via escrow, paypal gift, or any preferred, safe method on: December 27, 2013, 03:15:13 PM
I have no problem sending paypal gift (no reversals possible) first if you are an established member that can provide good vouches.  Am open to other online payment methods so long as we're both covered or you have vast selling history.

Need these preferably asap.

Thank you

Are you open to do cash deposit into a business bank account? No extra fees involved and you don't have to have a bank account to make the deposit.

Escrow?
I typically do offline trades. All it takes are 2 honorable parties and no escrow or 3rd party is needed.

Hey there - I can provide btc for you and would be willing to provide them at bitstamp price plus 5%. That's really the best I can do, as if you go on localbitcoins, you'll find people charging up to 15%, which is pretty crazy!
I can do western union or I have business accounts in BB&T and Regions bank, which you can make a cash deposit. Like I said, I have a business distributing bitcoin, so please PM me if interested. Thanks

Greetings,
I have an account on localbitcoins and am offering a great rate of bitstamp + 8%. If we were to do bulk orders of a couple thousand dollars or more, I'd be willing to negotiate that rate.
I have a business distributing btc and have business accounts in Regions and BB&T banks.
Please let me know if you're interested. My localbitcoins name is Crypto_Capital.

Check out this: http://fiatleak.com/

Similar concept but with more info. I haven't followed it against the blockchain so I don't know how accurate it is.
14  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Buying crypto money with cash by mail on: December 15, 2013, 09:19:58 PM
If you wrap it up like a present, and put "Happy Birthday Mom" or something on the gift, the post office or even customs usually won't open it. Just one way to keep their nose out of your business.

18  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: solo mining on: December 08, 2013, 03:20:48 PM
If you do it right, the bottom line is this:
Public pool = guaranteed small amount of btc consistently
Solo pool = potential to mine one block of 25 btc

Notice I said potential, but if you do mine the block, that's quite the gain, even if it takes weeks.
19  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Bank of America's Research Report on Bitcoin on: December 08, 2013, 03:07:52 PM
It seems as though the recent news in China is overpowering the Merrill report. This is because the Chinese are who brought the value up so far, so it's easy for them to bring it down. As they did that the other day, this caused more media to talk about the volatility, instead of the Merrill report. It's a positive report though, so hopefully it will help btc rise.
20  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Is it possible to buy bc with paypal? on: December 05, 2013, 11:02:43 PM
Im going to start selling btc/ltc for paypal as soon as gain enough reputation around here.

How do you plan on avoiding chargebacks?
Iv been selling on other large forums already, chargebacks are easy to deal with through phonecalls.
Tip: Paypal does not cover virtual items.

Yeah, and that's why they'll issue a chargeback to the buyer without warning or investigating. I bought all my coins via paypal when I first started with cryptos so I know it's possible to make good money, but it's only a matter of time before you get scammed.
actually no when i get chargedback I call paypal and tell them the item was sent, they'll cancel the chargeback since theres no proof that i didnt send

Is there proof that you did? This seems to contradict stories I've read numerous times on here. PP/ebay seem to dish out refunds for anything if you don't have proof that you posted it.
Selling on forums with other members I mean, PP will always side with the buyer on ebay

I've seen many instances of both unfortunately.
fortunately for me I know how to deal with chargebacks Smiley

Let's put it to the test. Willing to sell me some coins via paypal?
sure, i go by preev rate. how many coins?

100  Cool. You do know even if for some reason I didn't get my money back from paypal, I have about 6 months to file a chargeback with my creditcard company?

Might want to make sure of this because I know Visa has strict regs against time frames on disputes. I think it's 30 - 45 days.
