1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [GUIDE][TUTORIAL][XMR,ETH,ETN]How To Mod Bios RX470/570/480/580 VEGA Mining 💰 on: February 21, 2018, 08:06:55 PM
Hi,

First time using the PBE, attempting to flash an RX 480 4G with Hynix VRAM, it was doing 22 MH/s stock with compute mode,

I flashed it using the one click button BIOS and it was then doing 17 MH/s, but after restart the BIOS was also no longer detected by AMD settings, I was trying to check if it was in compute mode at 17MH/s.. but even GPUZ had trouble identifying the card, ATI Flash simply labeled it has "Polaris", I reverted back to stock BIOS after that, but I really think 22 MH/s is low for a 480, any suggestions? Also, when I use afterburner I cannot do anything above stock or the hashrate falls, this indicates VRAM errors correct?

I did a clean install and installed the pixel clock etc etc, what am I doing wrong here? What specific order do I need to everything in just to be sure I am not screwing it up?

Thanks!

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Issue Changing Remote Management Port in Claymore(CPUMiner), Help! on: February 08, 2018, 05:43:59 PM
Hi,

Simple issue, cannot figure it out. I am using Claymore GPU miner on a specific port for remote management (3333 default), I want to monitor my Claymore CPU mining as well, the default port there is 3333 as well, so obviously I want to use -mport to change it.. however I cannot figure it out.

I have edited the config.txt file, no luck, still tries port 3333

Then I edited the options file in the remote management folder.. changed the mport: setting, it simply does not change when I run the miner, still goes to 3333,

Where the heck is it getting this port 3333 from?

Also I seem not to be able to change it in command line, it says unknown or something to that effect,

I just want to change the port from 3333, any tips? What am I doing wrong? Where do I add the -mport in the bat file? Why does it not listen to me when I change it in the remote config file?

Thanks!
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Mining Ethereum and getting 10% stale shares?! Wth! on: February 02, 2018, 06:39:38 PM
Hi,

No better last night, this appears to come in waves (looks like a bell curve going from ~2-3% all the way up to 10-13%, then back down) happens several times periodically over 24 hours, something must be up on ethermines side, either pool power increase drastically or ping from their servers to the user rises periodically causing stale shares. For one hour I was down to 0% stale, then within another hour up to 10%.

Really would like to know why or if something can fix it,

Also did anyone have an answer about the Minergate question I posed? I honestly can't find a definite answer anywhere about why it is so low,

Thanks!

Hi all,

Just started mining with Claymore the last few days an using Ethermine pool (us1 4444), have noticed peaks of very high stale shares as well, not sure why.

All cards are RX 580 4GB, using Claymore 10.6 (latest) single mode (ETH), stock settings / compute mode / fans turned up.

I have had as high as 39% stale shares for a moment a couple days ago (overnight) before getting all workers going, now monitored over a few days, at about 120 MH/S, after 16 hours of mining overnight into today my stale rate was about 2-5%, however over the last two hours it is closer to 15%, no idea what causes these spikes in stale shares, all cards are good and it appears to be totally random in which cards generate the stale shares (no one system is generating noticeably more than another), can go hours at <5%, but then a few hours at >10% for no explanation.

Hardline Vs. Wifi seems to make no difference, hardline system gets stale shares just the same as Wifi, in fact the hardline system is at 18% last hour rn. Ping is 48 MS for accepted shares on hardline, still stale shares.

Any ideas??

Unrelated, Minergate 7.2 (sucks I know) only gives me 10 MH/S per RX 580, wth is going on with that? I know Minergate steals hashrate, but do they honestly steal HALF of your hashrate or more?? I switched to Claymore obviously, but I want to know why Minergate only gives 10 MH/S...

Thanks!
Paul
