1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ ANN ] SAT˛ - A new dawn - PoS - No Premine on: June 30, 2014, 11:30:35 PM
Anyone know why  Bittrex put SAT2 on hold today?

Heard in coinmarket chat they had an issue on their end but sorted it out. Nothing to do with the coin, market should be back up soon (if it isn't already)
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][LIBERTYCOIN][XLB] X11 | 100% POS | No IPO | No Premine | Now on Mintpal on: May 20, 2014, 11:00:17 PM
To affect large populations you want to work at the subconscious/unconscious level

This

But personally I think it should be visually free of any links to dollar/gold etc.

It needs to be crisp, sharp (so very nearly there IE Cheesy) and simple.  It has to grab the attention immediately and be unforgettable.

Everyone knows what a dollar bill looks like ... even a "johnny foreigner" Englishman like me!  So it should be with Libertycoin.

Too many colours or words will make it look tacky, imo, and not stand out as much.  Silver, black and red look nice.  They won't outdate.

How about putting "XLB" on instead of "Libertycoin"?  After all, that is what it is and all the exchanges use it.  Maybe "libertycoin" around the edge and "XLB" next to the torch?

+1 That could look pretty nice, with the silver background.

Nice ideas guys - then maybe we could simply add XLB to bottom right (near fingers holding torch), if the name will be left as is ... and use silver background (but keeping silver and black rim). Silver would differentiate it against another coin which I won't mention on this thread. lol

P.S. also note that traditionally, silver is the currency of the people, whereas gold is the currency of the elite. In L. Frank Baum's original book The Wizard of Oz, Dorothy was wearing silver slippers ... because they didn't want to make it too obvious in the movie, they used ruby Smiley

I am thinking this should be the coin logo. The torch is a universal and everyone understands what it symbolizes. Since it is a global currency we should refrain from making it too "Amercianized".

Really like it! I think the chalice should be GOLD. A silver hand holding a gold torch which burns the flame of liberty.

One last thing - I really think having the name ' L I B E R T Y  C O I N ' stretched around the rim on the top would seal the deal (or in a circle all the way around the coin). To affect large populations you want to work at the subconscious/unconscious level marketing-wise ... meaning Libertycoin should have the look and feel of the Liberty Dollar. Consider that the physical Liberty Dollar is something already DESIRABLE and collectible, therefore people will IMMEDIATELY identify with wanting to own them. This logo is already far enough removed from being Americanized IMO, so I would be using this to Libertycoin's advantage:)

I want to thank everyone for their support, but moving forward this fighting has to stop. It is destructive and will turn investors away. If someone posts something negative about me just ignore them.

We have a coin that can take of rapidly and we need to hit the ground running ASAP. I am not here to litigate the past, or debate who did what. BlackCoin is history for me and now I am focusing on the future, which is LibertyCoin. Some wonder what kind of impact will I have promoting LibertyCoin. Well lets just say I have a point to prove to a few people, so I will do everything within my power to take make this coin a success.

Moving forward we need a few things.

1. We need a multi-pool. A multi-pool is a good marketing tool for POS coins and LibertyCoin will benefit greatly from it.

2. There are less than 1500 wallets and LibertyCoin is already trading above 7000 sat, this is a very good start! However, we cannot get comfortable, getting comfortable kills coins. We have to start introducing people to LibertyCoin and word of mouth is very powerful. Start telling everyone why they should be buying LibertyCoin.

3. Get active! If you have a skill/talent and you will like to contribute, then LibertyCoin needs you!

This is just the start of something big, and if we as a community work together LibertyCoin will be unstoppable!

Excellent. As to the last line you bolded ... it's already unstoppable. I think the ramifications for globally revolutionizing currency are MORE possible within this particular coin than any other I have seen (besides grandaddy Bitcoin).

So why should we all be using Libertycoin? I'll leave a few reasons WHY in the form of quotes ... and you guys can go figure out who said this for yourselves Smiley ...

“Ideas are very important to the shaping of society. In fact, they are more powerful than bombings or armies or guns. And this is because ideas are capable of spreading without limit. They are behind all the choices we make. They can transform the world in a way that governments and armies cannot. Fighting for liberty with ideas makes more sense to me than fighting with guns or politics or political power. With ideas, we can make real change that lasts.”

"Personal liberty is a young idea."

“Liberty is lost through complacency and a subservient mindset. When we accept or even welcome automobile checkpoints, random searches, mandatory identification cards, and paramilitary police in our streets, we have lost a vital part of our American heritage. America was born of protest, revolution, and mistrust of government. Subservient societies neither maintain nor deserve freedom for long.”

"There’s nothing to fear from globalism, free trade and a single worldwide currency. But a globalism where free trade is competitively subsidized by each nation, a continuous trade war is dictated by the WTO, and the single currency is pure fiat, fear is justified. That type of globalism is destined to collapse into economic despair, inflationism and protectionism, and managed by resurgent militant nationalism."

cgminer mine the big difference it seems i havent used cgminer or cuda before first time. so after i found the .conf file in the pre configured version of cg miner it was easy to get setup. i must not have had it setup properly on cudaminer.

Similar cuda problem for me, tried every combination - best I could get was connecting and getting invalid blocks. My nvidia gpu is is even giving cgminer a hard time detecting new blocks, still hangs at 0 with the correctly updated .conf file. Or maybe pool is having connectivity issues right now, will try again... but would be nice to have a working cuda solution.

I made a quick png from the wallet logo since Bittrex is looking for a logo to add to its spotlight section. I assume a jpg is available, but just in case you don't have a png handy

...and this one works better for them, has the transparent background:

7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][EXCHANGE] Poloniex - Crypto Exchange with BTC/NXT on: May 09, 2014, 02:31:16 AM
@busoni, know you've been busy but posting since you mentioned old BTC wallet may not be safe - I have a BTC deposit that went to an old BTC address - didn't know you reset BTC addresses few days back. Hope funds are safe, created a new ticket (#3100) and generated a new address to receive, info is in ticket. Suppose you can transfer to the new one? Thanks
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | on exchanges | PoS | No premine on: March 26, 2014, 07:28:59 PM
Why did Hash choose MINT really
Because I asked Smiley Notice I could ask for BC too... I think MINT and BC should not fight at each other - I know several persons who are supporters of both MINT and BC. Still, I wonder how both currencies could walk hand in hand without being counter-productive. I welcome any suggestion (the "we don't destroy the environment' part could help, but won't suffice, I think).
And, no we did not bribe them. But you are free to disbelieve me.

(I don't remember someone at MINT ever accusing BC of bribing someone. How elegant from BC to accuse of felony)

To reference to your quote above, it's probably best to use the comparative analogy of gold (BC) and silver (MINT). Quite accurate given the parameters on both coins.

Once people become acquainted with alts via the press of national cryptos, this may end up leading them to discover the real virtual gold and silver in the crypto world (for POS coins, at least).

They naturally complement each other.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: DopeCoin was featured on Fox Business News on: March 26, 2014, 07:03:44 AM
Yet, Dopecoin has some exciting news on the way. I'd say they're a serious contender for the MJ industry. One of their recent tweets:

@DopeCoins are pleased to announce the finalization of our electronic point of sale system (ePOS) for online merchants. Releasing in 24 hrs!

Here it comes.

If an altcoin, regardless of being a clone, can gain widespread acceptance amongst merchants, then people are going to naturally become curious as to how they can exchange fiat for Dope:)

Consider many Colorado headshops are doing upwards of $20k a day in sales right now, so just picture the potential trade volume.

Do you consider "now" to be early? If so, I'm glad I bought in at .00017

Honestly man nobody knows, this coin could get massively pumped by panic sellers or it could 10x within a few days.. Your guess is as good as any.

Half the globe hasn't seen this explosion yet, yes still early:)

Is this really true? Mintcoin will be the first coin to implement PoS? What about Graincoin? What about Blackcoin?

What advantages does MINT have over the 2?

Pure PoS you asshat... . . . . .

Yup, funny how he skipped over what I actually said, successfully implement. Clear agenda, or 1st degree burns, who knows.

the trend says all. you cannot compare the start of a coin with the period the dust has cleared and more and more the real value will be known.

the pure pos will kill it.

Right ... as in the first coin to successfully implement POS.

When this hits the news, there will be another explosion on this coin followed by a steady rise.

16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: CoinMarket.io | New, self-moderated support and news thread. on: February 26, 2014, 03:09:41 PM
Ok... some have said this is a great support site.  So... Here is my question for all of those who have found great support.....

1.  When will coinmarket.io come back online?
2.  Why will no one answer my requests for further info/support regarding trade cancellations?
3.  When and where will trading be turned on again?
4.  Why is no one answering any of my posts, here?
5.  Why do I have coin transfers frozen/locked and no way to reclaim coins?  (site down 2 of last 3 days and no way to reverse deposits?)
6.  What is delay in getting coinmarket back online and why is noone from coinmarket posting regular updates?
7.  Where is transparency that is necessary for customer confidence?

Just wondering .... what is going on?

I can only speak for myself, though I know what it feels like to play the waiting game. I've never had a problem with their confirmation emails, withdrawals, deposits, while the markets have been down, I done multiple transactions successfully with BTC and MINT.

So, I'm sure your concerns will be answered when the time comes and when they have information of substance to provide, I'm sure it will be provided. Just to note, they said in one of their posts they have day jobs ... and their exchange picked up much faster than they expected.

To be critical, I would agree that taking a second just to say "I have nothing to report" would be good for Coinmarket.io's reputation and to ease the minds of worried customers.

Too bad this thread is turning into people arguing about Mint.

Yeah - My interest in the coin hasn't waned, but the thread is becoming somewhat tedious... *sigh

Agreed! Went from happy happy a couple of days ago to pissing matches and unrealistic dreaming!

Wut? you mean my million koinyes are worthless?

lol ... no amount of 'koinye' could prove its worth.

'Doge' is a fun meme, but a trend.

Noble is good, but...

'Mintcoin'.

Now that's a name that sounds like business.

Also has that long-lasting, minty fresh kind of feel.

Go mint some coin! (or go trade breathmints, whatever you prefer) Grin

Has anyone successfully withdrawn mint while they've been down today?

Had a mint withdrawal yesterday that worked fine while they paused the site ...

....but I'd like to get confirmation from someone else first before trying this time.

Thanks
