I am thinking this should be the coin logo. The torch is a universal and everyone understands what it symbolizes. Since it is a global currency we should refrain from making it too "Amercianized".

Really like it! I think the chalice should be GOLD. A silver hand holding a gold torch which burns the flame of liberty.

One last thing - I really think having the name ' L I B E R T Y  C O I N ' stretched around the rim on the top would seal the deal (or in a circle all the way around the coin). To affect large populations you want to work at the subconscious/unconscious level marketing-wise ... meaning Libertycoin should have the look and feel of the Liberty Dollar. Consider that the physical Liberty Dollar is something already DESIRABLE and collectible, therefore people will IMMEDIATELY identify with wanting to own them. This logo is already far enough removed from being Americanized IMO, so I would be using this to Libertycoin's advantage:)

This

But personally I think it should be visually free of any links to dollar/gold etc.

It needs to be crisp, sharp (so very nearly there IE Cheesy) and simple.  It has to grab the attention immediately and be unforgettable.

Everyone knows what a dollar bill looks like ... even a "johnny foreigner" Englishman like me!  So it should be with Libertycoin.

Too many colours or words will make it look tacky, imo, and not stand out as much.  Silver, black and red look nice.  They won't outdate.

How about putting "XLB" on instead of "Libertycoin"?  After all, that is what it is and all the exchanges use it.  Maybe "libertycoin" around the edge and "XLB" next to the torch?

+1 That could look pretty nice, with the silver background.

I know the concern eariler was some posts were deleted. Obviously they were probably people spreading FUD. I think we need to strike a balance here, we are a liberty coin, we should not ban people for speaking, but we obvoiusly can't have people spreading FUD, bashing people, and starting fights like happened eariler and happened to BC thread.

I think it's very important for us to have a grown up community, or professionalism here with freedom to speak, without wading through off topic and childish stuff.

Maybe we need a forum set of posting guidelines we decide is on topic, and keeping focus on this coin, so investors will stay here and love this coin.

We know how easily things can go sour when a coin is doing well.

So, I think fair posting guidelines or your post can be deleted for not following the rules. I believe people can start as many XLB threads as they want, but this one needs to be on topic, free of personal attacks, but open enough to talk about concerns and free from censorship.

Can we strike a balance so this happens, or what do you all think in this community is going to keep people coming here and the trolls away?

+1000

Agreed.  Very good idea.  *Some* sort of filtering needs to be implemented - not for censorship, but simply for the sake of decency and manners.

This is crazy!!!!
We are discussing the filtering, I do a good suggestion and it is deleted!!!!!!

We don't even know what you posted, but yes we need guidelines. You wouldn't stand up at a townhall and talk about the latest xbox game would you? This is the format now of a public forum. I think it's important to have freedom of speech, but when others are killing a thread and basically coming to town hall meeting and trainwrecking it, we can't let them do this forever. If you started shouting in a theater fire, you'd get kicked out. So where does freedom of speech and also ruining the communities thread stop and end?

This is why I think for this thread only, the OP, it needs to be on topic. We have this here as a record for this discussion of what are to have as guidelines. Why not? If community dislikes this, then so be it, but you realize this place will look like BC thread if we don't. Go look at the last days over there and realize it's horrible for there image. They shut it down it was so bad.

So, we admit there are FUD spreaders and trolls, how do we deal with them without causing the shift of balance away from free speech? Posting guidelines on what we will talk about here.

BTW, people have many times said don't talk about blackcoin here, this is liberty thread. Would that not be a guideline for a deleted post? See my point, it's just keeping things on topic, not censoring. We need what we will talk about to be very clear, and sure it can be negative, but not to distract us from our work.

I agree. Great name and branding, and if it looks more like a coin it is easier for mainstream adoption later. Long term goals are important. Just holding myself, I like the potential here.

Nice ideas guys - then maybe we could simply add XLB to bottom right (near fingers holding torch), if the name will be left as is ... and use silver background (but keeping silver and black rim). Silver would differentiate it against another coin which I won't mention on this thread. lol

P.S. also note that traditionally, silver is the currency of the people, whereas gold is the currency of the elite. In L. Frank Baum's original book The Wizard of Oz, Dorothy was wearing silver slippers ... because they didn't want to make it too obvious in the movie, they used ruby Smiley

It's a very good idea... as i work in 3D i could do something with both sides of the coin... if posible I only need the psd with layers of the 2 logos

I agree however before deciding,
Can this 3D mod be performed....If done properly,  I think I might be be better, nicer, more modern

Iconic plz give alfmar a chance to improve it even more

silver may also be a good idea as expressed before

Straight dump of 125,000 coins against the 4000 buying walls -that so far seems to be real and quite a support if not withdrawn).

That's quite a bit of dumping.

Ya that'd be great if people could actually just maybe stop dumping this coin, mmmkay?  I mean seriously. The price of bitcoin's finally going up a little so hopefully the altcoin market will benefit.

Maybe these are Captain Obvious questions...but I'm still learning.

I've noticed that when Bitcoin price goes down, altcoin prices go up. And I've also noticed that when Bitcoin goes up, altcoins (at least those primed for space travel) go down in price.

Is that an accurate correlation?

Is it because people are trying to catch a Bitcoin spaceship so they sell off altcoins to have Bitcoin on hand?

Trying to learn. Thanks

You mean the top addresses don't have faith in the future? Not even with LibertyDay only a week ahead? I would have thought Iconic would have more pull...

The dumping has been going on for the past 2 days, i steadily moved up from 12.

Cannot say faith, sometimes you want to invest somewhere else too
