1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Unable to Boot from ASUS B250 Mining Expert on: February 07, 2018, 04:38:29 PM
Hello,

I just purchased an ASUS B250 Mining Expert Motherboard, but am having a lot of issues booting from it. The BIOS just isn't recognizing the USB drive I'm trying to boot from (SMOS), nor is it recognizing the SATA SSD (Windows) either.

Pentium G 3930 Celeron Processor
8 GB RAM
750 Watt EVGA Power Supply

Something new about this board are the "book keys" located in the boot option of the BIOS. This is foreign to me. Do I need to load some sort of file onto the drive I need to boot from before the motherboard will allow me to boot from it?

I just turned CSM on and now the screen just goes blank. Any recommendations? Any help is appreciated.

Could you please be more specific?

Configurations in the BIOS? SMOS client?

What needs to be configured?

Hey everybody,

This is my first post, so go easy on me:

Just set up my first miner using SMOS as my operating system and zen.suprnova as my mining pool. I'm running into an issue where SMOS sees my 3 GPUs (one 1080TI and two 1060s). However, it only seems to want to use the 1080TI to mine. Because it recognizes all 3 cards and displays them to me on the console, I am inclined to believe this is a software error instead of a hardware error.

Here are my hardware specs:

Asus H110M-A motherboard
Intel Celeron G3939 processor
1 DIMM of 8GB RAM
EVGA 750 Watt Gold PSU

3 riser cards -- each connected to their own SATA connector and GPU

1 1080 TI
2 1060s

Each card is connected to its own 12V port in the PSU with the 1080 TI using 2 8-pin power connectors.

Here are the images I'm receiving from both the SMOS console and the SMOS GUI when I boot up:

...okay, that's f*%&ing obnoxious. This forum doesn't allow me to upload photos from my PC?? Awesome!!

So instead, allow me to manually type everything on my SMOS console's (miner's) screen **rolls eyes**

OK, very gently, this the wrong forum Smiley

What what? How? This is mining support, isn't it?
