Did you guys do an ICO to establish the funding to build Ethex.bet?

Is this technically a Dapp? If not, what made you decide against going that route?

Maybe it will be good if you add about how much te chance of winning for each bet?

Could you imagine if casinos did this with slot machines? They'd go out of business overnight!

That should really tell you something about betting DAPPs, the fact that they could even consider this shows you have a much better chance of winning than in more traditional betting avenues.

How are the chances of winning here compared to something like the lottery?

Each lottery has it’s own mechanics, yet the most of them lowers their prize rates a lot. You can check it yourself comparing the wining chances of lotteries on different «bet vs prize» combinations. As example, we will take one of the most known lottery in the US. Player needs to select 5 numbers from 1 to 70 (white balls) and 1 number from 1 to 25 (gold ball). The ticket costs $2, and to win i.e $4 you need to guess 1 white ball and a gold ball. The winning chance is 1 : 89. Playing Ethex, you can double your bet if you guess just «any letter». Winning chance is 1 : 2.7. It says Ethex has x 33 times more chances to win 😉

Wow those odds actually sound really promising. How much do you profit?

"you guess the symbols of a real, upcoming Ethereum block hash."

I didn't know Ethereum block hashes had shapes. Where can I learn more about this?

Hello, Shoesouse!

You can learn about it more in this article, https://github.com/ethereum/wiki/wiki/Mining#the-algorithm.

Thank you for the link.

It's awesome that you guys have no control over the results of your game!

9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: ShapeShift.io - Instant Coin Exchange - No Account Needed on: April 04, 2019, 01:32:40 PM
Maybe you guys should consider making a new thread to avoid false advertising claims.

The first thing that pops up when I go to shapeshift.io is "requires an account" but the title here says "No Account Needed"

Is Flyp.me the only exchange now that actually doesn't require an account?

I've had nothing but good experiences using Flyp.me.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: Changelly.com - instant exchange. VISA/Mastercard accepted. on: April 04, 2019, 01:30:00 PM
Doesn't Changelly require KYC? What advantages are there vs. an accountless exchange like Flyp.me?

They do now, unfortunately. It was a good run while it lasted.

Glad to see the Flyp.me team still hard at work improving the exchange. Keep up the good work!

Do you guys think there's a reason the more mainstream freelance sites don't accept crypto?

It's a good question. I've always wondered that myself. Fiverr for example used to accept Bitcoin, but then stopped. I think there are two major problems with accepting crypto 1) crypto accounting in USA and taxation is not very friendly if you are acting as an escrow, seeing how it's mostly trated as commodity (BTW we have a dedicated category for cryptocurrency accepting accountants)  2) the number of customers willing to actually use cryptocurrency is really low, that's why you need a place which concentrates solely on those buyers, like FreelanceForCoins.com

Your reasoning rings true with me. I think eventually it will become more and more in demand, but before then freelanceforcoins will already be the goto site for those preferring crypto payments.

14  Economy / Service Announcements / Re: 👨‍💼 FreelanceForCoins.com on: March 16, 2019, 02:18:10 PM
No, not really. There is a number of similar sites, at least two of them are active - xbtfreelancer and cryptogrind (though lately I've been unable to connect to latter). We will definitely try to have a better UI and user experience. Stay tuned Smiley

Is there a way to look over the smart contracts or would that make it insecure?

What causes the crash? Is it randomized, or is it based on the actual ETH market somehow?

Every crash point has been already pre-generated, this means that the game outcome can't be affected by how the market is moving, by how many players are in a specific game or the total amount that is being wagered.
Here is a very helpful article that really explains it all https://medium.com/@nekoz/generating-a-provably-fair-crash-point-8d502058e8bc
Here is our seeding event https://archive.fo/X6zGk
And here is a tool that you can use to verify each game fairness https://jsfiddle.net/m1c4a3l/hx1sogpk/1/embedded/result/dark/

How difficult would it be for malicious actors to figure out the pregenerated pattern?

Is this the only freelance site that uses cryptocurrency? This is the first one I've heard of at least.

As a small update:

We have categories now (https://freelanceforcoins.com/categories), better notifications (https://freelanceforcoins.com/i/unread.png), scopes and time limits for invoices (https://freelanceforcoins.com/i/new_invoice.png), which is a small step towards better project management and dispute resolution.

More than 140 freelancers have signed up so far (or have been invited by us) to offer their services for crypto https://freelanceforcoins.com/offers

You can add your offer too here: https://freelanceforcoins.com/offers/create

You guys are really building up your list of services. Very impressive, it's so cool to watch this project grow.

Fortune magazine says there's money to be made in ICO presales.
http://fortune.com/2018/07/10/initial-coin-offering-startups-live-fast-dies-young-icos/

I can't imagine how much money has been raised in ICOs in total.

How much have you guys raised so far?

We are taking indications of interest at https://transitiongreenburials.com/buy-transitioncoins-in-the-pre-sale/ and have not started the KYC/AML and accredited investor checks yet.

KYC is required for all token buyers?

Is this a legal requirement for ICOs now?
