Where would I go to buy Btc 2 if I don’t have any BTC to begin with?

Is it safe to keep the block in the default wallet that comes with the bullion or should we move it to safe wallet when received? Surely someone knows the private key since it was printed on the bar?

you are ventilating open air/oxidation and chip chinese pcb and here is result.Winter times even you think dry there is many particle in air can make oxidation fast, chinese pcb are not protected from oxidation.and also it looks like water leak happened.and also measure humidity outside too.Rigs dry air fast so measuring it inside will be not accurate.

Checked the roof and definitely no leaks. Must be the cold air I’m drawing in. I have ordered a 25L dehumidifier which is coming tomorrow and will place it directly in front of the cold air feed and see if hopefully this helps. Ideally I would box up the air intake, tunnel it through dehumidifiers then pass it through the rigs but i haven’t got time to make this right now.

Exactly! I try to do everything right and still I got corrosion. I’m going mad trying to work out what it could be.

How about your room temp.? Maybe you are living on a cold place that is why it still getting corrosion.

The ideal temp is around 60 and 75 degrees Fahrenheit if you get lower than 60 some components will always fail.

I’m in London, UK. Outside temp is like 8c during the day and 1-2c on some nights. Inside temp is only 3~5c higher.

Perhaps thermal shock due to temperature variation is causing condensation. Extreme variations in room temperature cause this effect.

There’s not really any variation... like I mean the miners are on 24/7 they only ever go off for a reboot if something stops working, which usually may not happen for every 4-6 weeks.

your meter shows 40 for humidity

you are not near salt water

not show why you have a corrosion issue.

Ie 65% humidity it is a no brainer

Near the sea or a bay  also make it easy.

But 40% humidity is decent

Exactly! I try to do everything right and still I got corrosion. I’m going mad trying to work out what it could be.

this is a gpu question it belongs in alt coins.  I asked the mods to move it.

Buy a temp/humidty gauge

show it to us

https://www.amazon.com/ThermoPro-TP49-Hygrometer-Thermometer-Temperature/dp/B07WCR5Y4B/ref=sr_1_3_sspa?

also are you within ½ hour drive of salt water?  Such as an ocean or a bay.

Sorry file sharing was off. Try view the links again, you should be able to view them now.

Hi Guys

My setup:

I’ve got 6 rigs set up with 12GPUs per rig (RX470 8Gb Nitro+)
I did put ground vent in but I put way too many stones in and it’s blocked so I later cut out 4 exhaust fans in the back wall (3 behind the rigs and 1 slightly aligned left of the rigs).

I also took a window out in front of the rigs for cold air intake. I put an insect mesh in place to stop bugs coming in and sealed the shed so it is air tight.

My problem:
A PSU failed a few months back and i thought maybe it was a roof leak but I found no leaks. Replaced the PSU and all was well. Now 2-3 months later the same rig has failed, this time it’s corrosive damage to the motherboard.

Any ideas?

I also notice my rigs randomly hang and restart. They sometimes work perfectly for weeks on end without reboots and then days like today they are hanging and restarting the miners on random rigs all day long. I suspect the Ethernet Switch is failing the same way the motherboard and psu did..

Can we mine Seele with GPU miners without setting up a node?
If not, can I turn my GPU mining rigs into Nodes?
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [DIY] auto-hard-reset mining rigs with Raspberry Pi on: October 06, 2019, 01:06:49 AM
is there any way to add a telegram bot?

Can anybody share the telegram commands they use for multiple rigs?

Sorry to drag up an old topic but it's relevant for whoever else may be having this same issue...
Today I've setup a second Raspberry Pi using this script - absolutely love this script!!

I've got 6 rigs connected to it on an 8CH 5V Relay Board and noticed the same... no matter the command, the Telegram Bot would only trigger Rig 0:
/ping m0, m1, m2 etc
/restart m0, m1, m2 etc
/turnon m0, m1, m2 etc

After some digging... I found the cause... remove the 'm'

/restart 0
/restart 1
/restart 2

Without the 'm' it works perfectly... because in the code it looks for machine NUMBER not anything else.

I hope this helps.

Sorry to drag up an old thread. I love the concept of this project and I’m wondering if we can GPU Mine it?
The avatars for everyday users doesn’t seem so wow to me but I could see this making concierge avatars for stores and restaurants.

A pizza hut in Turkey had a screen built into the table where we can select, order and pay for our meals. Building an avatar into this would be cool for example.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [DIY] auto-hard-reset mining rigs with Raspberry Pi on: June 16, 2018, 10:21:12 PM
I've got a strange issue...

I ssh into my raspberry pi and i run the script using:

cd Downloads
./auto-hard-reset-arm7

Then it starts... it pings the rig then it goes to timer "300s" because I made the timer for 5min rather than 30min. It works perfectly while my ssh connection is live and the telegram bot responds fine if I check /status

Soon as I kill ssh connection to the raspberry pi, the script stops working and even the bot is not responding in telegram... it's as if, when i kill the ssh connection it stops the script.

Can anyone help with this issue?

Use the screen utility in linux to keep the script running even if you close your ssh session.

Thank you! That worked perfectly.
The script is now running like a dream and Telegram bot is functional Smiley
Tomorrow I will replace my faulty risers and then hopefully this rig is finished and i can move to the next.

Hi Guys

Firstly, @Kasmetski for the amazing work on this rig resetter. It's exactly what I was looking for after weeks of headache with my rig hanging and I must drive 40 miles to reboot!.

I have purchased a Raspberry Pi 3 Model B and installed Raspbian just now. I have also enabled SSH and changed the password for user Pi for security.

Now, I am on Github but I'm not sure what to do from here...

Should I run:
Code:
sudo curl -O https://github.com/Kasmetski/auto-hard-reset/archive/master.zip
to download the file to the default directory?

After this, github mention to run:
Code:
tar -xvzf auto-hard-reset-arm7.tar.gz
chmod +x auto-hard-reset-arm7

But I checked in Github file list I don't see any auto-hard-reset-arm7.tar.gz filename.

Please help, sorry for the noob question... I'm sure I am overlooking something.

It's ok I've now got it working and Telegram working also.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8x RX470 GPU Mining Rig - Looking For Paid Support on: May 23, 2018, 12:29:00 PM
Basically it's normal for them to crash from time to time. It depends how frequent however.

I would just lower your memory clock to like 1900Mhz and it will hash at 27.5 but it will be stable at least. Not all GPUs can hash at 29Mhs.

For your power consumption you should undervolt each GPU by 100mV and it should still be stable and consume much less power and be much more cooler.

Thanks - but undervolt not possible in Linux. Unless I add it via Bios I think.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8x RX470 GPU Mining Rig - Looking For Paid Support on: May 23, 2018, 09:13:11 AM
When I say custom straps, I mean straps that someone has encoded for a particular card, not a simple copy/paste.  I think ohgodagirl does custom straps for $$$.

Thank you - I've just sent her a message.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: 8x RX470 GPU Mining Rig - Looking For Paid Support on: May 22, 2018, 04:11:07 PM
I would use windows for initial setup at least.  Only modify straps, don't modify anything else in bios.  Run miner.  Use overdrive or afterburner to increase memory clock until you either get memory errors in hwinfo or the hash rate stops increasing, then lower the mclock a bit.  Lower cclock until hashrate decreases.  Last, lower core voltage as much as possible while maintaining stability, then increase it a little.  Sometimes modifying the core voltage automatically modifies the memory voltage too.  If not, then lower memory voltage as low as you can while maintaining stability (check for 0 memory errors), then increase it a little.

Once you've determined the proper settings, you can use them in linux by either programming them into the bios, or setting them in the claymore command line.  There may be other ways, I don't mine eth on linux.

If you don't lower the voltage, your rig will draw way too much power.  Properly undervolted, an 8x rx470 rig shouldn't require more than 900W if mining only eth.

You may not be able to push them to 30 mhs without custom straps, although 29 is usually doable.  But you need to accept whatever hashrate you get that is stable, even if it is 28-29.  Not all cards tune right up to 30 without custom straps.  And even ones that do, they may not be stable, and it will probably cost you more in the long-run to push your cards to their absolute limits.

In general, people who are relatively new and don't entirely know what they're doing expect way too much and push their cards too hard.  If you don't really know what you're doing, and instead are just following guides/instructions online, you should play it safe and be conservative.  Under those circumstances, 230 mhs at 900W, and stable for weeks or even months, should be doable.

Thank you so much - even 230Mhs @ 900w stable for 7 days would do me! lol... I tried oc'ing exactly how you said it but I was trying in linux and i know from past experience it's easier in Afterburner so i might just do that..
I'm going to install Windows 10 on another SSD tonight, then run After Burner and find the best settings for my cards and get it modded in the bios.

You mentioned custom straps - is that not the same as just copying timings from 1 location to all the others... like mine right now at from 1500 all the way down. Or do you mean someone can actually customise a strap specifically for a card? I would pay for a custom strap if i knew where to find a reliable source and what kind of benefits would be involved to determine whether it's viable.

Again, thanks for the advice... I will give it a go tonight.

Good day, but what you do not like the Windows?
As far as I know the operating system does not affect the speed of the cards.
You need them to properly disperse and flash, the network has a lot of information about this.
But the main thing do not forget to keep the original BIOS firmware.

I understand from all comments online that Windows is not so stable like Linux.
I like smOS because I can login to smOS from anywhere and see all my rigs in a nice simple dashboard but the reboots all the time are annoying and not good for profits.

I have saved original BIOS Smiley
