I tried your plugin!

If you have it installed and are on Ardor mainnet and it is chosen in options, You can visit this alias:

btc://howtobuildablockchain

I decided to use mainnet instead of testnet since I can see the potential and the cost of registering with Ignis on Ardor is negligible.

Lior Yaffe, Managing Director of Jelurida and core developer of NXT Ardor, joins QBTC to talk about the successful launch of the Ardor Platform and Ignis. He addresses questions about availability on the exchanges, the future plans of NXT and Ardor, the AEUR child chain and the responsibility Jelurida takes in entering into business relationships.

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [NxT] new dread pirate roberts ? NxTRoad blackmarketplace? on: August 26, 2014, 10:24:56 AM
Let it be noted here:

Quote
For the public record: The issuer of NxtRoad has sent unsolicited assets to my account. Upon return of said assets with a note asking that no more unasked for assets be sent, another set of Nxt Road assets has been issued to my account.

This action and the behavior of the NxtRoad asset issuer to others who have tried to get rid of these unsolicited assets (continually sending more) compels me to keep these assets and any others he may send. I will not sell them or burn them or return them. I will hold them and share this account with any law officials that may investigate this activity in the future.

This note is to reiterate that I have not asked for or purchased these assets and will never knowingly participate in illegal activity. And for the historical record, I restate that these assets were sent unsolicited to my account and to the accounts of many others in the Nxt Community.

~ As posted on the blockchain. Gotta love the blockchain for historical record!

This asset is nothing more than an attempt to associate Nxt Marketplace with Bitcoin's Silkroad.

Will currency of any kind be used for black market and illegal activity? It has been, is and will be as long as there are immoral people.

To try to mass-associate members of the Nxt community with this kind of illegal activity by the wide distribution of an unsolicited, self-described silkroad=ish, wanna-be asset is nothing short of a set up for a smear campaign.

1.  I want to let everyone know that myself, QBTC, Uniqueorn, and Damelon have been on video conference with John to investigate this matter.  The others will confirm what I say when we finish the talk with John.

2.  We are trying to be as neutral as possible to investigate this matter.  So far John has answered all our questions and has been very cooperative and has not been evasive in his answers.  He has been open to volunteer access to his personal emails, computers, etc for forensics review.

3.  We will figure out what we need from John to investigate this matter further and he is being cooperative and open to give us access to his personal accounts because he wants his name cleared.

Please give us some time so we can review and research this matter.

Thanks for your patience.

Tai Zen

We have been talking with John for more than one hour and I've been very pleased with his transparency and willingness to help resolve this unfortunate situation.

11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: someone PLEASE confirm that NAS is a joke or test on: April 20, 2014, 12:49:04 PM
I see Graviton has added it to dgex and I worry that this might all just be a ridiculous joke at this point.

DGEX is poised to become a multi-currency exchange. Adding NAS was probably more motivated by the vision of expanding DGEX than 1 million NAS. I expect we will see more currencies added to the exchange in the near future.

And here:

We need this video removed immediately. It is plagerism - and there are serious repercussions.

If nothing else, the loss of reputation as a trustworthy community working to create a unique crypto platform. How can we be believable about our "built from scratch" if we steal other people's hard labor to promote it?

I will not condone or endorse this.

Please remove it for the sake of Nxt!

QBTC and Fatih87SK:

I've submitted QBTCs design to the conference team. I chose it over Fatih87SKs version to stay within our current house style.
Having said that, I like Fatihs design, tho' we do need to tattoo "Gill Sans Light" somewhere on his body.

For the rest:
I'll be posting a conference info update sometime tonight.....

Fixed it (I Think); If not, can someone send me the font?

Thanks for changing the font - Looks good!

QBTC never fails to deliver quality work Smiley!

Utterly agree, thats sweet.

I'm going to wait another 12 hours or so, if no-one has any objections/better designs let me know, otherwise I'm going to go with QBTCs logo above.

@QBTC; thanks, mate. U r a star!

  Wink

Great work.

I tried to make it slightly different.

The "grunge" texturing is an interesting alternative. It's nice!

While we're all trying for cohesiveness in our branding messages and graphics, could we use Gill Sans for the tag line? That's the font that came with the logo through the contest way back in the beginning. I think it would look great with your texture. And it will be a small step for the brand Smiley

Bitcoin2014 Conference Amsterdam 15-17 May Update....

I would like to request a logo and maybe a short intro text.
The conference organisers need to have a high-quality NXT logo for their conference website/guidebook/app:

http://bitcoin2014.com/
(Scroll down to "Contributing Sponsors" , 70% to bottom of page, for examples of other logos)

We already have some logo resources, and I'll post a few here soon, but if there is anything I miss, or if someone wants to create something new (keeping within our current branding material, no major changes, please) please post it and help choose the best.

A short introduction text for NXT would also be useful. 2 or 3 lines of text that completely cover what NXT is....get writing.

There are a lot of other interesting developments on the conference front, but I'll let Damelon cover the RHOS story.
My contact for speaker slot organisation wasn't available today, I'll be trying again tomorrow (thursday) to get her on the phone.
I'd like to have some more info from Damelon about RHOS, if possible, see what needs to be added to our conference package to cover their activities.

Anyway:
Logos, please....that is my current priority for the next 12-24 hours.

Here you go!

This should work for most applications. If it doesn't, please let me know and I'll see what I can do to help you further.

Damelon is working with a design bureau on a streamlined house style for NXT, see above.

I wasn't aware that he was designing the house style and new nxtcrypto.org website. We did have contact, but I thought he was designing stuff for himself  Cheesy Good to know!

Hmmm... I wasn't aware he was redesigning the nxtcrypto.org site either. There have been many PM'ed notes that folks have liked it. It would be good for me to know if someone else will be taking over this site.

What are our key target groups? Define at most three.

1) Remittance: 550 billion dollar market which is currently monopolized by Westernunion with it's 12.5% fees.

2) Gambling: the vast majority of Bitcoins market is gambling due to there being restrictions in several countries, denying it's citizen the right to spend their money on gambling games.

3) Silkroadish: regardless of what you think about it, Silkroad basically made Bitcoin and I am not advocating anything illegal, marijuana is legal several places now. (This gives media attention more than anything)

Bonus: 4) Libertarian types who hate all things regulated.

No offense here, but if the vision of NXT is to appeal primarily to the gamblers and "silkroadish" types, I'll probably need to bow out of my marketing responsibilities. I didn't participate early in Bitcoin because of reservations about such things and saw in NXT and the community a phenomenal opportunity to create positive change in the world. I've given a huge effort because I believe in the layers of NXT that set it apart and make it a true 2.0. But, I won't be able to participate with the same enthusiasm if the road we're going down turns out to be different than what I thought. No judgement here, just my point of view.

Not primarily, but we have to be realists here: we want NXT to grow, for that to happen NXT first has to prove that it has value. Bitcoin had to crawl that road for years.
And also regarding GAMBLING: what is wrong with gambling? Especially things like poker that is a game of skill and statistics and not a game of luck? I see no ethical or moral problems there.

As for "silkroadish" types, I already said I am not for anything illegal. Marijuana is legal several places, but the MEDIA attention these things get is worth millions of dollars in advertisement.

And I would think the thought of being of help in terms of remittance would be more important than both those things combined?
Remittance = immigrants money being sent back to their families in impoverished nations. Today they are getting robbed for 12.5% of this money, in NXT all the money would go directly to the people and (not exagerating) save thousands of lives.

There are infinite uses for NXT, but I am outlining the biggest current markets that cryptos is entering.

I'd love to discuss the topic with you so you can explain what you find wrong with gambling/legal marijuana

Well, the communication problem we have might be that the terms gambling and silk-road are broad stroke generalizations. You're right, I can't make a strong argument about a game of poker or legal marijuana.

And, I think I would need several strong cups of coffee and much speedier typing fingers to engage with you in a long conversation about this Smiley

Simply put, the big picture we establish now is going to stick with us. Do we really want to start as the gambling coin or the back-alley coin? I'm not saying "don't go there." I'm saying, I can't go there with you.  I joined my efforts here to help promote a better future. Nxt can do so much more than remittance to help make the world a better place. I'm especially eager to see how contracts will enable a good part of the world to trade themselves out of poverty.

Re-branding or rebuilding an image is extremely difficult. Will the short term gains be worth it?

Here is a banner I made for social network sites that visually communicates some of my visions for Nxt.

...I'm going to need to leave this for awhile, I'm not ignoring anything you might have to say in reply Smiley
