1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ★★ EBT Coin - Entropybit 100% PoS - Multipool - Premined Burned ★★ on: June 23, 2014, 09:42:41 PM
You have a big job in front of you. Use coin control to consolidate your transactions. I was able to send about 400 transactions at a time to a new wallet. You'll need to do that something like 48 times with your number of transactions. Each transaction of 400 will cost about 4.6 EBT. If you highlight a transaction in coin control, then you can hit space to select it. Then hit the down arrow. Repeat 400 times.

It's a huge pain, but short of someone writing a patch to automate this process, it's the only way. You will lose your coin age when you do this, though, but you should do it before the switch to high PoS otherwise your wallet will melt down.

If your wallet is too unresponsive to do this, then put "stake=0" in EBT.conf. That will turn off staking so you can work. You have to restart for it to take effect.

This problem affects big exchanges. They have staking turned off on their hot wallets for all PoS coins, not just EBT.

Thanks so much, that "stake=0" EBT.conf line was my lifesaver. Can I get your EBT address?
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ★★ EBT Coin - Entropybit 100% PoS - Multipool - Premined Burned ★★ on: June 23, 2014, 06:02:05 PM
I'm having a problem with my EBT wallet that I hope someone can help me with. (or at least point me in the right direction)

My wallet is constantly unresponsive, and says it is not responding. It will pop out of this state occasionally, usually for no more than one or two seconds, and I'll get a bunch of transaction notifications in that window of time. (incoming PoS transactions)

I'm unable to do anything with the wallet, including sending coins or encrypting my wallet, so for the time being my EBT balance is inaccessible to me.

I've tried reinstalling the wallet on two computers, and I don't seem to run into any problems until I import my wallet.dat backup to the EBT folder in AppData. I've tried restoring two separate backups of the wallet.dat, one from a few months ago when I was having no problems, and both files cause the same issue. I know for certain that the older wallet.dat file is not corrupted.

I've looked around for similar issues with other altcoin clients and haven't come up with anything helpful, so if anyone knows anything I'd be very appreciative! And if you can help me get to my coins I'll be happy to send some your way to say thanks.

How many transactions do you have? It sounds like your computer is working really hard to find transactions to stake and may have a miner open for each stake.

Also, what kind of system are you running (Windows 2000, Windows NT, etc)?

In short, this really isn't enough information. You might have a virus. It's hard to tell what is wrong from your description. I have EBT running on several different computers and they are all doing fine.

Both machines I've installed it on in the last couple days are running fresh Windows 8 installs, no viruses. I've got 17,929 transactions, and 1,974,188 EBT in the wallet. If that's causing the problem (the computer working overtime to find transactions, like you mentioned) what--if anything--can I do to get around it?

EDIT: For a little more information, the primary computer I'm having trouble with is a quad-core Windows 8 machine with 6GB of RAM and an SSD. So the computer's hardware resources should be up to par for this. Given that this is a clean Windows install on a decent computer, I'm not sure what other variables might come into play.

Mining for EBT is over.

O_o oh really? :p

Proof of Stake only coin as of a while ago.  If you have EBT, you continue to generate new EBT based on how many you have in your wallet.

http://gagapool.pw will pay out in diem or ebt Smiley

See it's not over Cheesy @NRSLogan, you are fast finding this.

A pool like gagapool can pay out in EBT if they have some on hand, but EBT can't be mined anymore as it's now 100% proof of stake.

So you can mine for gagapool and perhaps get paid in EBT, but you aren't actually mining EBT, if that makes sense.

I think, somehow we need to get into a major exchange like Mintpal or Cryptsy. Poloniex is not cutting it. Only 17 million coins out of total 150 million is on sale there and buy support is very poor at 0.36954764 BTC total.... I think traders are held back due to the lack of a good exchange, So getting into a good exchange must be our first goal now...

There's also europex.eu

7,014.700 EBT = $1 USD

Buy support is even worse there than on Poloniex.

I'm not sure  exchanges are our main concern at this point, though. (responding to mashac, not DannyTom) Cryptsy and Mintpal aren't going to want to add a coin that no one cares about doing anything with, so it's going to take those of us interested in moving this coin forward putting in some work to give it value. A good coin requires more than just being put on some exchanges, it needs purchasing power and convenience (mobile wallets, etc). That's been suggested a few times I think in this thread, and I believe that's what's going to help the most right now.

Just a thought. I'm already heavily invested in this coin, but many people reading this thread are still only considering whether to get involved.

The future for this coin is PoS. De_logics claims that PoS is not good. Do you want this claim to go unanswered in this thread? His claim is simply not true and I will address the claim each time he renews it.

I have a reasonably sized buy order at a low price. If you don't like the bickering, please feel free to dump right into it. Let me know and I'll add to my order.

I have no interest in dumping my 2,000,000 EBT, I'm only suggesting that seemingly endless back-and-forth arguments might be better suited for PMs. Better yet, a general debate about the merits and faults of PoS coins might be better suited for its own thread, as the specifics and outcome of such a discussion aren't relevant solely to this coin. Maybe create a new thread and link to it from this one so that people looking for specific information or discussion on EBT aren't impeded by all the bickering and dissuaded from getting involved.

Bickering in this thread is only going to diminish faith in this coin. I know that, when I'm looking at altcoins to invest time/money/resources in, arguing is the kind of thing that tells me to move on to the next coin. I want to see people talking about plans for the coin, for the market, working together on solutions and ideas rather than entertaining every debate they run across.

Just a thought. I'm already heavily invested in this coin, but many people reading this thread are still only considering whether to get involved.
8  Economy / Digital goods / [WTS] Domain names bingthat.com and bingtellme.com on: February 17, 2014, 05:33:26 PM
I'm selling bingthat.com and bingtellme.com. I purchased bingtellme.com recently, but I've owned bingthat.com since 2009.
I'd like to sell them together, but I'm willing to split them if you only want one. I'm asking 6 BTC for the pair, but I'm open to offers.

I can prove ownership however you would like, and I'll be happy to use a trusted escrow for your security.

Guys, I have some good news, but I'll tell it NOW. I did write message to Cryptotc several hours ago and guess what? They added EBTCoin to their market!

Awesome, thanks for your efforts! If you'll post your EBT address I'll send a few your way!

I bought a copy of DayZ from this guy, downloaded it through Steam and played it without issue for a few hours yesterday. I don't know if this means others just had some bad luck or if I'm just lucky so far, but my experience buying from him has been positive.

14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] ★★ EBT Coin - Crypto Assistance! We've Got A New Faucet!! ★★ on: February 11, 2014, 08:07:14 PM
This may already be happening and I'm just missing it, but it might be a good idea to keep track and show how much of the premine has been used for bounties and stuff. I know a common concern with premined coins is that the devs are just holding a big chunk of the supply to pump and dump later, so anything that can be done to improve transparency with regards to the premine here would probably go a long way toward easing people's hesitation to get involved with this coin.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [EBT] EBT Coin - Crypto Assistance! Now on freshmarket exchange!! on: February 03, 2014, 08:21:46 PM
Ebt... please improve the coin logo.... please design a more polished version of current theme.... Current logo is lame... (Big supporter and miner of EBT)

Seconded. Can we use some of that premine for a logo bounty or something?

WTS 5000 EBT for 0.2 BTC

That's super high. I've got over 20,000 EBT and I'd be surprised if I could sell them for 0.2 BTC this early in the game.

I've been waiting for an EBT coin to pop up, I knew it was just a matter of time. I'm mining it now!
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [Pre-Ann] Platinum - The Coin You've Been Waiting For [Pre-An] on: January 28, 2014, 04:47:40 PM
Sorry I mistakenly put today as the launch, it is suppose to be tomorrow. I'm contacting a pool owner about having his pool have platinum added. The premine is set back to 500,000 coins for faucets, pools, block crawlers, and block explorers

this was jut posted by block_erupter some time ago?

Yes, he pmed me about it and thats what i said and he simply re-posted it for me.

You very obviously accidentally posted as yourself, (block_erupter) deleted the post and reposted it under PlatinumCoin. There's no shame in making a mistake, son. Just own up to it.
