1  Economy / Speculation / Re: When will BTC reach 1Million per coin? on: December 29, 2013, 11:28:27 AM
I would say, never! Look where it is now, think about all the speculation people have put on coins, 1K here, 5K here, 10K here, 50K there, none of these predictions have come true at all - sure we hit 1K but that is the only real highpoint, no one has predicted any real hits since.

Lol that was a month ago.  You really expect it to reach the unexpected and then reach the even-more-unexpected in another month or two?

This thing needs time to catch on.
2  Economy / Speculation / January 1st on: December 29, 2013, 11:24:23 AM
Is it plausible that Jan 1st will be a huge day, one way or the other?

Just thinking about investors starting a new calendar year.
3  Economy / Speculation / Re: Reggie Middleton uses car analogy to explain that Bitcoin is not a bubble on: December 27, 2013, 11:06:16 AM
He says it so eloquently and definitely has given me ammo for explaining it to some of my dumber friends.

5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Indian Bitcoin Exchanges Suspend Operations on: December 26, 2013, 09:40:29 PM
How big of a deal is this?  Is it a good thing that this kind of news comes out before BTC takes off there in contrast to China?
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: In your mind what is a "good" amount of Bitcoin for a newb to hold and be proud? on: December 23, 2013, 08:55:48 PM
1BTC

In a few years people will be amazed to know somebody with 1BTC

Definitely hoping you are right.  This would mean that everyone knows/uses bitcoin, but we will be working in millibits (or smaller).

5 is also the number I aim to own long-term.  I currently own a few more, which I plan to slowly sell as the price goes up.  I am hoping to be freerolling with 5 Smiley
8  Other / Off-topic / Re: How do you make money online ? on: December 20, 2013, 07:18:06 AM
Online poker Smiley

I used to play professionally, but then the government shut it down.  Now I deal poker for a living (I'm much happier doing this... steady money etc.) and still play a little on a smaller site that did not get shut down in my spare time to make a few extra bucks.

Oh, and bitcoins Smiley

Great idea!  I know that tons of my family members would love this, not for the value, but for the excitement of being able to watch its value go up throughout the year (risk-free).  Perfect year to do it, too.

As asked before, any chance of sharing the template?
10  Other / Off-topic / Re: Would you get naked for bitcoins? on: December 20, 2013, 06:48:53 AM
I would as long as nobody says that I have an "itty-bitt-coin"  Cry
11  Other / Off-topic / Re: If bitcoin had a smell,how would it smell like? on: December 20, 2013, 06:21:39 AM
Like hope.  Or like something that humans haven't smelled yet.

It really depends if you look at it like they never entered the market in the first place versus just suddenly plucking out all China exchanges in a single moment while the impact of the publicity still remained.

I think China publicity helped the price increase which even if it was a bubble still attracted a lot of new entrepreneurs and general public awareness, which in turn helps the long-term and short-term growth.

I agree that it helped the price increase, but the rise/sudden fall when the bad news came out of China gave serious ammunition to people who say that it can't be currency because of the insane fluctuation.

I agree with this.  It just would have been interesting to see the rise and fall due to U.S. moves instead of it getting mixed up in Chinese speculation.
14  Economy / Speculation / Re: buy high, sell low - the proven strategy that guarantees negative returns on: December 19, 2013, 10:54:57 AM
China just delivered a critical blow to BTC prices guys... it could take years to recover from this.

The world hasn't even seen bitcoin yet.  The Chinese merely dabbled in it.

Serious question.
17  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Will bitcoin reach $10,000 one day...? on: December 17, 2013, 10:24:20 AM
i think that bitcoin has two possibilities in two years roadmap:

a) value near around 3000-7000$
b) value between 0 and 100$

..and what will be? nobody knows

I think this is way off.

If (b) were to be not true, that would mean that bitcoin has been around for 2 years, meaning the popularity/usage would have been very exposed to the mainstream.  So if it does and it doesn't hit zero, it will have skyrocketed to well above 7k
18  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will it hit $1000 again? on: December 17, 2013, 10:15:54 AM
Bitcoin is not a get rich quick! It's a "get rich slow" or "get poor quick", and you need to select one about now Smiley

True, but it is not really a "get rich slow" scheme.  I would not call 6 months very slow.  Wink  Maybe more of a "Get rich with a small bit of patience" is a better way to put it.

I think I read somewhere that in the history of Bitcoin, no one has lost money that has bought and held longer then 6 months.  Sounds pretty good when you think about it that way.

Looking at the chart, you are correct.  That is actually very impressive when you think about it.

The best strategy, it seems, is to buy bitcoins and then unplug the internet for 6 months and wait Smiley

I also agree that the next big surge won't happen until the new year, but no later than feb 1st.  And it will probably take us to $1.5k-2k.
20  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will it hit $1000 again? on: December 16, 2013, 10:11:30 PM
I'd wager any amount of money on $1000 being broken before $100. Anyone up for a bet? Can use some trusted community member for escrow. PM me. Or shut up already silly broke bears Smiley

I would also bet on your side
