1  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin a better payment system? on: April 20, 2018, 11:52:18 AM
The answer is that it often is not, at least for most people, most of the time. Eventually it will be the best payment system, but it needs to develop further, gain more adoption, and get over the scaling obstacles. Even so, Bitcoin is already the best payment system for certain use-cases, such as sending money across borders, or receiving money from someone you don't trust (which helps further in cross-border transactions).

It has got its own advantages and limitations and lot of improvements need to be done. For instance, cutting down the transaction fee for slower transactions is required.
2  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Can Bitcoin Ever Be Shutdown? on: April 20, 2018, 11:48:01 AM
I was just wondering, what would it take for the Bitcoin Network to be shutdown completely?

Some countries tried banning bitcoins but its citizens are still investing with one or another. Thus, it is impossible to shut it down completely.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Can blockchain change financial industry? on: April 20, 2018, 11:45:58 AM
It can definitely make it scam proof. As you must be aware, a huge fraud took place at Punjab national bank in India where 11,000 Crore INR were scammed from a nationalized bank. Had that bank used blockchain technology in that system, that scam could have been avoided.
It is only after such scams get unearthed that people realize the importance of blockchain technology. I have a strong feeling that sooner or later more countries are going to adopt this technology and we will see a revolution in the financial industry.

The scam you mentioned involved wrong use of power, even if the transfer was to be done in bitcoins , a person with authority can do this. However, finding the culprits may be easier in case of blockchain technology.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Not every blockchain project has a good future on: April 20, 2018, 11:40:20 AM
Regarding the social media project that you mentioned, I am also not convinced that it will replace Facebook. But there is good market for any such platform that shares its revenue with the users.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it worth to join airdrop? on: April 20, 2018, 11:34:58 AM
This is my first job in joining cryptocurrency specifically the bounty programs. As suggested by my friends that joining bounty program will let me earn reward tokens. However, seeing also an airdrop in the bounties altcoin section made me think of its worth of joining in airdrop. I came to a thread for airdrop and it seems that they are only requiring you to do simple task and you were able to get the tokens that they promised. Now i have the interest on them but i still have some doubts about it if is worthy to join airdrop. Do you have any idea guys or experience about its worth on joining airdrop?

I have not participated in any airdrop but some members shared their good experiences here. I remember reading a thread here where a member got tokens worth $2500 in 3 months.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is it worth the bounty hunting effort in this downtrend? on: April 08, 2018, 10:04:36 AM
I mean, once the tokens we earned doing bounties hit the exchanges, these probably lower their price and we will not be generating the money we expected, is not it?

Why will prices get lowered when the bounties hit exchanges ? It should actually be the opposite as more people start buying thus pushing the prices up.
7  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: got my first merits ;D how ? on: April 08, 2018, 10:02:54 AM

8  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to work on bitcointalk effectively? on: April 08, 2018, 10:00:18 AM
I'm a newbie. I just started to learn about the bitcointalk forum. So I hope to receive instruction from everyone. Thanks

I will suggest you to start with sticky posts in meta section like forum ranks, merits , badges and everything. Also, there are some serious issues handled strictly here like permanent ban for copying content and posting it here.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The real reason why Facebook is banning ICO ads on: April 08, 2018, 09:57:42 AM
See most of the people think only about the loss Facebook is making by rejecting the advertisers. But getting associated with scam projects hampers the image of Facebook which is bad for the company in long run and is more dangerous.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Is this the next huge gainer? on: April 08, 2018, 09:54:18 AM
I am also hearing about this for the first time. Will do some research about it on other internet forums  and websites and share some information soon. Would you mind sharing the demerits also ?
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Low prices, are you excited about the situation? on: April 08, 2018, 09:48:33 AM
Prices are low and it is presenting a good opportunity ... are you excited about the situation? how do you exploit the retracement to your advantage?
Some investors are worried, but many of us are doing great business and will continue to do so in the coming days.
Which of the purchases of these days made you happier? did you do it on new products (new to you) or did you recover something that you missed in the past?
What are you keeping an eye on and hope to take during the next days?

Frankly speaking, I do not have  much savings left to make good use of this opportunity. I am just buying bitcoins every month with savings I am left with and these days I am getting more bitcoins for same amount. Smiley
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How often do you join airdrop? on: April 08, 2018, 09:44:34 AM
Guys, how often do you join airdrop?

Are you taking part in any of them?

What is more, you can get tokens for testing a project's beta. For example, KickCity. You can get reward for testing this platform https://kickcity.io/event/5a9d11030cf2cac8e081f3e8

I have not participated in nay airdrop and do not wish to do this in future also. Some of my friends who participated in these said that most of these do not pay anything.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What is the best Social Media for promoting an ICO ? on: April 08, 2018, 09:39:25 AM
Like the title says, i would like some feedback from the experts in this industry, so far i have gathered these 5 most important that seem to be used by everyone, can you add more ways?

1. Twitter
2. Reddit
3. This forum
4. Telegram
5. Slack (which i heard is full of scammers)

Why have you not mentioned Facebook here ? I think Facebook has got awesome features like share to profile, pages and groups and this can make a good post about bitcoins go viral on internet.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is 1ETH=$10,000 worth the possibility? on: April 08, 2018, 09:35:10 AM
What do you think?

Yes, this iss possible in my opinion and that is why I have also invested good amount in ETH. I think ETH will survive even if bitcoins die.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to make money on the fall of the market. on: April 08, 2018, 09:23:30 AM
I recently entered the topic of crypto currency and now is not a very good time for earnings. Since bitcoin is falling. Please tell me how you can make money on the fall of the market.

To make money with the falling market, you will have to buy bitcoins at big dips. You can then sell these bitcoins as soon as prices recover.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What makes a altcoin valuable on: April 08, 2018, 09:21:29 AM
I'm developing an altcoin that is based on social sharing. What foundational technologies are going to make it the most valuable? What makes an altcoin valuable? I'm wondering if it is just how much people hear about it? Thoughts?

An alt coin is a valuable if it specializes in some particular aspect. For instance, Monero gained a lot of popularity because it is much more anonymous in comparison to other coins.
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: is bitcoin legal??? on: April 08, 2018, 09:16:46 AM
Bitcoin is of interest to law enforcement agencies, tax authorities, and legal regulators, all of which are trying to understand how the cryptocurrency fits into existing frameworks. The legality of your bitcoin activities will depend on who you are, where you live, and what you are doing with it.

Bitcoin is completely legal, some countries are taking steps against bitcoins just because they failed to control it. They do not like that people are using this medium without giving any fees to government.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Altcoin To Buy Now? on: April 08, 2018, 07:23:19 AM
What altcoins are you guys picking up for cheap in this dip?

Most of the alt coins are available for low prices currently. For instance, Ripple which was for about $1 few days back is now for $0.5. I will suggest you not to go for risky coins like TRON as you may loose more money with it.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to find out a legit ICO? on: April 06, 2018, 06:58:39 PM
Suppose if there are a number of ICOs started for different coins by anonymous developers then how can we find that which one the legit ICO and which one is scam ICO?

You should do research about the people who are behind the ICO. Also, check out their social media pages and see if they are getting interaction from others or not.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: BITCOIN IS STILL FAMOUS on: April 06, 2018, 06:17:03 PM
definitely bitcoin is the most famous coin of all. not only it has wide acceptance but also it is profitable in investment. I am sure it can help every people who want to earn money only by either investing or working on it.

Yes, the biggest advantage of bitcoins is that it will always be in news because it is the first crypto coin. When any news channel gives information about crypto, they do not mention any other coin at all.
