1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner - a new litecoin mining application [Windows/Linux] on: February 24, 2014, 02:11:01 AM
It seems that people here are asking about different coins and their compatibility wit cudaMiner.
Isn't cudaMiner Scrypt-based, so that it could be used with multipool etc.? Just a check before
I run into store and buy my card.
well it seems that people are not reading what posted in this thread...
It runs on script, script-jane, sha-512 (? the one used for maxcoin)

Maxcoin is sha-3/Keccak256

Though I'd like to see something made in sha-512crypt as it was one of the few instances of a hash that I remember superior performance reported for Nvidia vs ATI.
I'd like to know if that's still the case and see what Maxwell could do with it.

Took a few days off and the world goes to hell...

...I mean

Scrypt profit margin is down again alot, 40 pages of new posts in this thread, whats best to aim our NV's at right now?

Panda shitstorm yadda yadda x2

Howto profit NV .-.?

It was a f'in PANDANADO.

is it viable to solo UTC?

Solo UTC, maybe if you have lots of hash, you probably could, I wouldn't want to with my limited amount of hash.
btw you have a GT 750m right? Do you know what your best config for UTC was? I've used k2x32, k4x32, and k6x32 so far, and they all have nearly the same rate(about 41 kh/s), have you or anyone else gotten any better?

Also whats better right now yac or utc?

And this is why you should use Cryptsy for all your Doge trading, sure its not always the fastest exchange, but so far its probably the most secure as far as I've seen, and when I have had an issue the support was very good and fast.

5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Premines and why they are bad on: February 21, 2014, 02:00:28 AM
anyway that is enough from me.. if other people want to highlight some of the other bad things be my guest.. cough cough IPO <----

Yes the only thing worse than pre-mine is these so called "IPO".
For those who aren't hip to the IPO game let me lay it out for you step by step.

1. Dev creates alt-coin with a pre-mine say 2%.
2. Dev offers coins for sale before mining starts, sells say half of the pre-mine for BTC, LTC, ect.
3. Dev uses IPO proceeds to pump the coin price up, people without knowledge of the Dev manipulation, see the price rising and invest additional coin, price rises even more.
4. Dev cashes out his pre-mine after the price is inflated well beyond what just pocketing the IPO proceeds would have brought.
5. Price crashes, dev abandons coin, maybe it dies right away maybe it doesn't.
6. Dev doesn't care, moves on to next project, maybe under new name.

If we get some coins that are 64 bit based, with some doublelongs in the code, I'd say Nvidia has good potential.

uint64_t like Keccak? (unsigned long long int) ... forget it. AMD does 400 MHash/s. nVidia peaks at 180 MHash/s

it's sad...

but hey, whoever comes first...

Christian

I was thinking Sha512crypt or something like that actually.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] cudaMiner - a new litecoin mining application [Windows/Linux] on: February 12, 2014, 09:05:11 PM
Anyone here in my thread mining not just for fun, but seriously for profit as well?  Having a farm of AMD cards in your garage or basement?

nVidia is looking to get in touch with miners to interview them about their expectations for mining related products.  Just be aware that you would be helping nVidia with your information and not your favorite GPU manufacturer AMD Wink

PM me with a brief summary of what you're mining and how and I can get you in touch.

Is this the reason you are keen on nvidia mining, if I may ask? Do you have expectations that they might surpass AMD on at least some aspects? Smiley
As someone stated above, I think the HC miners don't really care about the label they use, they just want performance, flexibility and stability. At least that's what I think.

If we get some coins that are 64 bit based, with some doublelongs in the code, I'd say Nvidia has good potential.

(Running Scrypt on Christians 12-10-2013 x64 binary)
Wanted to note odd behavior on my GT 750m's when my Lenovo laptop was set to Optimized Battery Health, while still plugged in and set to Maximum Performance, it cut performance and I ended up with some really random autoconfigs, until I set it back Maximum Battery Life mode. Figured I'd note it in case someone else is having such an issue.

why is my wallet not syncing?
oh, and can i sell my coins directly from the pool? just asking

It can take awhile to sync, leave it open for a little while maybe 30min, and see if it starts, I remember it took a little while for my wallet to start syncing.

I would not recommend trying to sell your coins directly from your pool, the software that most pools use(MPOS) is not able to withdraw less than the full confirmed balance; but if you have a deposit address for your account on an exchange you should be able to send your coins directly to the exchange.

Anyone else see anything weird on 2chpool as far as pplns in the past few minutes?

On my end it looked as if it had been disabled for a little bit.

Looks like pplns problems, so I'm going to try the other pools for a bit.

17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [EAC] Thoughts on Earthcoin? Cryptsy made things worse? on: January 14, 2014, 10:20:26 PM
It was obvious to me anyway that people were looking forward to cryptsy simply for the resulting spike and dump.
Coin overvaluation is epidemic, one cannot expect a tiny market to have such a large valuation for long without a really good reason, and the truth is the vast majority of these coins being released have no compelling reason to be valued as they are, anyone that runs the numbers will quickly find out that for most them value will quickly and predictably fall.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][COYE] Coinye Coin - UPDATE on: January 14, 2014, 07:16:08 PM
Copypasta coin with no redeeming qualities, full of legal issues, I strongly suggest that people do not transfer, hold, or exchange this coin in any way.
This coin is bad for cryptocurrency, and should be discouraged at large.

Protect yourself and cryptocurrencies future, boycott this coin and its users.

The legal issues attached to this only bring bad attention, and legal liability to the community at large, boycott its use and users.
