According to Fabrizio he said Manchester United have announced a RECORD revenue of £666.5m, despite no Champions League football. Some of the club fans are taking solace in this news, some say since they are not in any competition outside England and they are also not playing well in general, let them at least be happy that their team is making money, lol. Funny fans

If anyone should be amused by those statistics, it shouldn't be Man United fans, but rather the Glazers. It is for this reason that the Glazers continue to cling on regardless of the good or bad performance of the team they built, as they can get a big income every year. I heard the rumors that their infrastructure has not improved and may not change after Alex Ferguson retired, so you can imagine why Man United is having a hard time getting back on their feet because most likely their Management has really messed up.

Manchester United fans are already complaining about Amorim

and yes unfortunately the team is not doing well at all, 4 points in 4 games is truly a disappointing score and therefore the fans are rightly angry, paying a season ticket to see such a disgrace is not a good thing
I think it can't get any better at the moment unless they change something.

When you look at Manchester United stat since Amorim join the club, it has been very poor, and the big problem is there was a lot of expectations from him, regarding to his performance at sporting. A very huge number of Manchester United have been disappointed not just by the results but also by the team performance.

Another big issue is that Amorim have had issues with a lot of players since joining them, and now he is about to lose their Academy talent Kobbie Maino, I just hope he doesn’t leave.

Manchester United needs to start Identifying their problems and then solve them, as a football fan I would say they need to bring solutions to their defensive side, new Defensive midfield and a good center back at least they can start from there.

Their most obvious problem is that the players don't match the strategy chosen by the coach, and Amorim was even asked to change his philosophy, but he insisted on his stance and does not feel afraid if he has to be fired. With a new system and so many new players who come to Old Trafford, it is clear that it requires adaptation, which will take some time. But the question is, will they really be patient enough to wait for the process?

I think Man United is having a very serious problem, and it's not just because of the new coach or the new system, but it also concerns the incompetent management and of course, the boss (the Glazers family), who is indeed problematic.

While everyone is talking about Real Madrid's victory and praising it, I would say that Real Madrid's victory was just luck and I would praise Marseille for having a better performance. 😋
So, now we can compare when Barcelona faces Newcastle, and Barça will undoubtedly win decisively this time.
Despite playing away without Lamine Yamal, Raphinha is still reliable.

Strong teams are often described as lucky, but this luck stems from the skill of their players and a lot of training. As for Marseille, they couldn't even turn the game around when Carvajal received a red card (incidentally, there are doubts that a red card was warranted). But Real Madrid only scored from penalties, which suggests Marseille's defense wasn't bad, but handballs in the penalty area are unacceptable, so the penalty was deserved. It wasn't an easy game for Real Madrid, just like it was against Real Sociedad, but the most important thing is that they're winning.

There will always be luck in football, but Real Madrid's victory was not solely down to luck, but there were several other factors that also determined the victory. Real Madrid have a great record in the Champions League, and they have a strong winning mentality, therefore, it has a big influence on their performance. Even when they are in a difficult position (such as playing with 10 men), Real Madrid still did not panic as they had good composure to finish the match. That is the most striking difference between Madrid and Marseille, because even though Marseille has the advantage in the number of players, they even failed to keep their goal from being conceded again.

Barcelona just got a big win in La Liga, so it's fair to say they're feeling motivated and have great confidence at the moment, but don't forget that the Premier League team often puts up a tough fight against anyone they play against, especially when they're playing at home.

The first half between Madrid and Marseille ended with a score of 1-1, but considering the condition of the game, I think this is still very good for both clubs because they really played openly, which made the situation enjoyable to watch.

However, there are a few notes for Madrid, where they actually looked quite dominant, but they lost the ball more often, which made the situation less comfortable.
On the other hand, players like Rodrygo and Mastantuono seemed eager to prove themselves capable, but it was precisely in these moments that issues arose, as they often lost possession while attempting to dribble.
I was hoping for more in the second half, but given the first-half situation, I'm confident the second half will be more exciting.

Xabi Alonso used the match as an opportunity to rotate players, and it gave players who usually sit on the bench a chance to prove themselves. However, this was not without its flaws, as their performance wouldn't be the same as in the previous formation. I see Jude Bellingham is already on the bench, and maybe we will see him back on the field after a long time.

Frankly, I was a little surprised, Marseille was able to put up a fierce fight and made it difficult for Real Madrid to find the net. Marseille defended quite well, and they also had quite fast transitions when counter-attacking, and I think Madrid really have to be wary of that because if they let their guard down, Marseille might be able to take the lead first.
11  Economy / Economics / Re: How do the poor catch up with the challenge on: September 16, 2025, 01:08:49 PM
In theory, poor people can invest in Bitcoin because it can be purchased in small amounts. However, in practice, it is not recommended for poor families due to the combination of high volatility and the need for high liquidity (cash must be ready to be used at any time). High risk can lead to losses that can worsen financial conditions. It is better for poor families to start with liquid savings, small amounts of gold, or low-risk money market mutual funds. Bitcoin is only worth considering after your basic needs are secure, emergency funds are available, and you have basic investment experience.
When you find yourself in a place where working doesn't cover the costs, you need to change something in your life. I have been there, I have lived in a part of my life where what I earned wasn't enough, well it's technically still not enough but that is because of my debt, and when that is over I will be fine, and making a lot more.

However, if we consider getting better results, then it's going to be pretty much great return for all of us and we shouldn't really be worried about money if we can focus on just getting better jobs. We need to spend as little as possible, like literally noodles, and rice and potato type of life, for a few months, without ever going out or spending anything and focus on investing and growing.

In my opinion, poor families can change their situation by focusing on three things: controlling spending (stopping money leaks). Increase income (micro-enterprises, skills, community development). Mothers and children can participate in side jobs (online sales, laundry, snack shops, concierge services). Monetize simple skills like sewing, small-scale services, hydroponic farming, and small livestock. Also, utilize surrounding assets: a yard can be turned into a vegetable garden, a terrace into a small shop, or a motorcycle can be used as a motorcycle taxi. Build savings and small assets (small change in gold, education, social networks). Although this process is very slow, it is still possible. Many families in Indonesia have successfully moved up the social ladder through a combination of financial discipline and taking advantage of local opportunities.

Don't fall into the mindset that poverty is a permanent fate. Teach children about money from an early age so that the next generation doesn't repeat the cycle of poverty. Practice discipline, live simply, and avoid pride. Remember that poverty can be hereditary, but it can also be broken through small but consistent strategies.

It is difficult to fix a struggling team if the club's management is not in good shape. I think there are other problems besides the coach that Man United is experiencing. They have changed coaches many times, but still no one has been as good as Sir Alex Ferguson. I don't have an opinion on who the next coach should be if Amorim is fired. But I hope that if Amorim leaves, they should choose a coach with a clear history and experience in Europe and major leagues. Giving Amorim time is actually a good idea, but I think many supporters are impatient at the moment.

I have the same thought. Ruben Amorim may not have carried out his duties well, but what caused Man United to slump like now is not entirely his fault, because after Alex Ferguson, Man United found it difficult to return to glory, regardless of who the coach was. So there are two possible causes, that is poor management, and the boss's vision, which prioritizes business over performance.

Amorim should indeed be given a little more time because, from what I see, they are still in the process of adapting, but the question now is, does the board still have the patience to wait?

Arsenal will be the first club to play this season's champions league against Bilbao and the Spanish outfit are already talking tough and especially Wonder kid, Nico Williams has declared that if Arsenal hope to win them at their stadium tonight, they'd have to sweat blood.
This is the same Atletico Bilbao that Man UTD destroyed last season during the Europa league competition and we know that Arsenal's away record is very strong and they've increased their squad and even though they have players who are out injured, it won't worry Arteta much. Are Bilbao just talking much or will they back it up with action and give the Gunners a hard time?

Athletic Bilbao does have the advantage of playing at home, but somehow, I feel like they will still lose to Arsenal. What I see, Bilbao is not in good form at the moment, and they have even suffered back-to-back defeats in La Liga, despite they playing at home in both of those matches. While Arsenal seems to be having good confidence, and several players from Spain give them a plus point in this match.

This is an interesting match and worth waiting for, and maybe this will be a high tension match because I guess Bilbao will probably play aggressively.
14  Economy / Economics / Re: Is Freedom Becoming More Expensive? on: September 16, 2025, 10:10:29 AM
Neutral freedom can give rise to innovation, efficiency, and competitive prices. Greed or distortion of freedom can exploit regulatory weaknesses, market power, or consumer panic. Although inflation is often considered a "monetary phenomenon," it is also a "moral-economic phenomenon."

Freedom is not the direct cause of inflation. Freedom is an instrument. It is the abuse of freedom (due to greed) that causes prices to not reflect real market conditions. Economic freedom (the individual's right to transact, do business, set prices, and own property) actually promotes market efficiency. However, if this freedom is not constrained by regulations and social norms, the market can give rise to price gouging, when businesses arbitrarily raise prices during a crisis. Excessive speculation, capitalizing on individual freedom, can become an opportunity for hoarding. Unequal distribution, freedom without governance, widens the gap between the rich and the poor, which can then drive inflation through an imbalance in supply and demand.

Inflation can stem from two main factors: the quantity of money in circulation (macro, technical, and controllable by the central bank): human behavior (greed), monopolies, oligopolies, cartels, price markups, and consumer exploitation.
I agree, real freedom in markets may result in efficiency, innovation, even cost reduction. However, as confidence in large organizations fades, individuals head back to smaller systems. Crypto over banks, local over global supply chains, self choice health over public health. That is survival. However, survival decisions typically are more expensive. Even when freedom itself is not the thing that causes inflation, the tearing up of trust makes our economies less efficient and the inefficiencies are reflected in a state of higher prices

I like your way of defining inflation as a "moral-economic phenomenon". Since that relates it to human action, not only money supply. Perhaps a larger question is, can we create systems in which freedom does not become exploitation and trust does not become fragmentation? Otherwise, perhaps it is not so much central banks that cause inflation but the way societies are structured

Central banks are not the sole cause of inflation. Inflation is often caused by a combination of monetary policy, supply chain management, market structure, and extractive incentives. Therefore, in addition to central banks, institutions and society also play a role in inflation. Freedom can become exploitation without strong institutions, law enforcement, and incentives that curb extraction (short-term extraction, e.g., bonuses above short-term profit targets). Greedy opportunistic actors will choose strategies that exploit consumers/shareholders/the public). Trust does not arise automatically or instantly; it must be built through transparency, penalties for violations, and the right incentive design. Investing in social capital (trust) reduces fragmentation and lowers economic costs. Trust declines when penalties for violations are weak. One effective solution is a combination of competition enforcement, responsive fiscal/industrial policies, incentives for corporate reform, and strengthening legal and anti-corruption institutions.

An example would be: storing crypto requires more effort (and even more risk) than leaving money in a bank. Buying from local farmers is  healthier, but more costly than supermarket brands. Making personal health choices over the public vaccination programs may result in a billion-dollar cost to society if there are outbreaks

1.Are you sure about that? What kind of risk and cost requires keeping your private keys in a safe place? Do you have more trust in a bank than yourself?
2.The cheapest and healthiest option is to grow your own fruits and vegetables(which requires hard work). This is true freedom. Buying food from both local farmers and supermarkets isn't freedom. It's consumerism.
3.Public vaccination programs are free(in most countries around the world). Why would you choose not to participate in free vaccination and risk your health? I don't want to join the anti-vaccination debate. Grin
Freedom has always been expensive. Freedom is priceless.

Banks serve not only as a place to store assets, but also as a socio-psychological institution that offers a sense of security, legitimacy, and collective identity. Banks are seen as formal institutions that are supervised, insured, and have a multi-layered security system. In other words, individuals exchange some personal control for a sense of collective security. The reason people trust storing valuables in banks is not only rational (objective security) but also due to a tendency to avoid risk, trading costs for a sense of security. Although in reality, banks can go bankrupt or funds can be restricted, people feel more controlled by the legal system and state guarantees. By entrusting their assets to a bank, the burden of security responsibility is transferred to the institution. This reduces individual psychological stress. Storing valuables in banks also forms norms, institutional legitimacy, and a self-image that is formed in society. Isn't the illusion of control created by banks remarkable?

Humans live in socio-economic networks built on trust and exchange. The more complex a society, the greater the interdependence between individuals. Personal self-sufficiency is nearly impossible in the modern world due to the complexity of needs (e.g., it's impossible for everyone to make their own cell phone). But socio-economic forces (crisis, inflation, or the desire for independence) push people back to a form of semi-self-sufficiency. In micro-theory, humans tend to specialize and exchange due to opportunity costs. This means that if someone is more efficient working in an office than growing rice, they choose to buy rice rather than grow their own. Personal self-sufficiency (meeting all one's own needs without relying on the market) is actually inefficient from a microeconomic perspective, as it goes against the principle of comparative advantage.

Free vaccine programs are sometimes a matter of trust and perceived social identity. A cognitive bias in society is that the more expensive, the better. Therefore, when something is cheap or free (e.g., healthcare, food aid, subsidies), individuals tend to be suspicious and assume that if it's cheap, there must be a sacrifice in terms of quality, safety, or freedom. This is reinforced by real-life experiences, for example: generic drugs are considered less effective than brand-name drugs, even though they contain the same ingredients. In my country, there was a national case of counterfeit vaccines for children, which were part of a government program.

Free vaccine programs are sometimes a matter of trust and perceived social identity. Public suspicion is a form of social defense, a protective mechanism against potential manipulation. Throughout human history, nothing is truly free. The law of reciprocity exists. Therefore, the human brain tends to be suspicious when something appears "cheap" or "free." Furthermore, a cognitive bias in society suggests that the more expensive, the better the quality. The most annoying thing is that Manchester City were not even at their best and they still beat Manchester United 3-0. In my opinion Manchester City did not have an outstanding performance aside from Haaland that scored 2 goals, no other player was outstanding. This only get to show you how bad Manchester United played. At this point I don't even know the issue with Manchester United anymore,  they have spend a lot of money and still not doing well. Congratulations to Manchester City.

Are you for real? Doku was quite outstanding in that game as he was very instrumental and also laid the ground work for two goals to be scored. Yes, he didn't score a goal himself, his presence was greatly felt on the game. I had wanted and hoped for Manchester to win the game but after the second goal, I lost hope of a comeback from United. I wasn't wrong as City scored a third goal sealing their victory.
Man city deserved the win as they played some good football against United yesterday. They may have not been at their best like you think, that didn't stop them from giving Man United an ass whooping.

This could probably be considered one of Man City's best performances this season because they played impressively and had a very well-coordinated rhythm throughout the game. Even if only Man City could play like this against Liverpool and Arsenal, I think they have a good chance of winning. It's just that City remain struggling to maintain their consistency, therefore their performance is still inconsistent, and not always the same in every match.

Despite the performance shown by Man City, their opponents were indeed completely out of sorts in this game. What I see, Man United not only lost in quality, but they also lost mentally.
16  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2025/2026 on: September 15, 2025, 11:01:10 AM
I’ve watched every Liverpool game this season — they’re winning, but not because they’re the better team. It’s mostly because luck is on their side (a late goal against Newcastle, a wonder goal against Arsenal, a silly penalty against Burnley).

They’ve had a lot of luck, but sooner or later, luck runs out. Then we’ll see if they have the quality to make up for it.

Winning goals that just scored before the end of the match are often considered to be just luck, and it seems Liverpool have that luck because it's not the only time they've experienced it, but it would be unfair to think it was just pure luck because Liverpool really tried hard to get those goals and I think Liverpool achieved that dramatic victory because they also possessed a winning mentality. Teams with a winning mentality usually have good composure, so they can get out of difficult situations they face.
17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: ⚽ Premier League 2024/2025 Discussion Thread ⚽ on: September 15, 2025, 10:11:42 AM
I can't say what the problem is right now. Manchester United has struggled far too long and I think there could be something more to this. How can Ruben Amorim come from winning his last 11 games in Sporting to winning only about 8 league games in the last 10 months. Sometimes ago Peter Drury once said that match is like Monthly period, they win only once in a month. Manchester city still humiliated Manchester United again with such 3 : 0 margin. I don't know why everyone thought that Manchester United could win the game before the kickoff. Manchester city loosing form does not also imply they can loose to Manchester United in their home soil, at least not in this period.
I was one of those people that thought Manchester United could win Man City, the reason why I was thinking that Manchester United can win Manchester City was because of their failure I was thinking they will pick up in order to make their fans happy but that did not happen instead they lost in a shameful way, I'm not happy with Manchester United and right now I really don't know what their problem is however I still believe Manchester United need a very good coach someone like pep guardiola a coach that is very skill and knowledgeable.
Ruben Amorim has done his best he's not looking as if Manchester United is cursed because I really don't know what is happening any player that comes to Manchester United don't perform well anymore with all the quality players Manchester United bought I was thinking that this season they will be on fire and they will deliver very well but that did not happen I want to ask again what is really the problem of Manchester United why can't they pick up.

It's certainly a mystery, with so many changes they've made, but none of them have been able to bring back Man United's glory, so I think the problem that Man United is facing is indeed serious and perhaps the solution must be to pull it out from the root, which means not only replacing the coach and players, but the owner and management must really be overhauled. We all know that the Glazers are not real football lovers, but he is involved because of the big money they can make from it.

That's obviously a tough choice and probably will never happen, as the Glazers would clearly be unwilling to lose their source of income, and even Sheikh Jassim once made a fairly large offer to the Glazers, but they rejected it outright.
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: La Liga (Spanish League) Prediction Thread 2025/26 on: September 15, 2025, 09:06:40 AM
I think at this point, Barcelona is ready to face any team even in the champions League. Don't get me wrong, I'm not judging from the 6:0 win against Valencia; but, let's give that a second thought again. Don't you think Hansi flick's strategy is beginning to gain the desired effect? With this momentum, a team will have to think twice over a match before set against them.

Barcelona have just had a great result, and 6-0 was a stunning win, but I still doubt that Barcelona can continue to be consistent like this because previously they could only draw when playing against Rayo Vallecano, and they also got a pretty tough win when facing Levante. Barcelona will play against Newcastle in the next few days, and perhaps from this match, we can see whether Barcelona will continue to perform well or whether they will face tough resistance from Newcastle.
19  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Premier League Prediction Thread 2025/2026 on: September 15, 2025, 08:55:41 AM
After watching yesterday's match between Man City and Man United, I saw that Man City's performance has improved and it seems that Man City has the potential to rise again. Therefore, I think that any club facing Man City in the next match should be wary because I can see that the Man City players have regained their confidence and are performing even better.
I will wait till Manchester City plaus against Arsenal or Liverpool then I winning consider to come in agreement with you on their improvement and that is mainly because Manchester United is not in any form close to what these big three has currently, Manchester City I know will do well against weak sides even when they are in a very poor form and they had some key player sold over the transfer wi do so they still have some improvement to make which I am yet to see as obvious.

Before the match against Man United, Man City had lost its previous two matches, so this win is expected to boost its confidence. Man City appeared quite impressive throughout the match, and they also seemed to have a fairly neat rhythm. This match also marked Donnarumma's debut, and it seems like it won't take him any time to blend in with his new team.

Frankly, I'm curious whether Man City will be able to consistently play well, or is this just because their opponent is Man United? and I hope the next two matches can answer my curiosity, as Man City will play against Napoli in the Champions League and play against Arsenal in the Premier League.

Wkwkw
