I have 6 Baikal Giant B, 3 S9's and 2 L3+'s - If you can help show me how to set them up, I'd be happy to join the pool.

Is there a guide anywhere? I haven't mined on anything other than NH so far.
I can walk you through on Skype if that helps.  Skype me at scotty.sinclair.  I'm in MN, USA

Not sure who did it, but the Kano Pool Twitter page, and I, were tagged in one of my posts with a guy named Rolf. The tag invited Rolf to contribute towards the pool, for the 10BTC giveaway. I personally sent an invite through Rolf's website too. He would be a good member here in the forum too, as he is most definitely educated in the ways of mining. Take some time to check out some of his stuff!!! Hope he considers our invitation!!!

That was me.  I hope he comes over.  He has several mining operations so I’m guessing he would bring some firepower with him.  Seems like a standup guy too based on his site and YouTube channel.  I’ve learned a ton from just watching his videos.

Happy Monday Mining everyone!

surprised ppl keep getting more machines online though the profit non existent now for those who have to pay fer electricity assuming the machine life of 2 years.

I pay .14kwh,  and made  near $200usd, at current BTCprice, the last 30 days. Recently went to a buyers consultation for Solar. If all goes smoothly, I'll be hooked up by summer.

Edit: the cost of Solar is .05kwh in my case. And after its paid off, obviously free.
I’m going with PVs this summer as well Shazam.  20kW system will cost me about $56k, but I’m able to finance 100% through our Port Authority.  After US fed tax renewable energy credit, 100% first year deduction, and MN rebates I’ll break even in about 6-7 years.  Then free power for the remaining life of the system which will hopefully be at least 20 years.

Thought I would share this experience. I've been away from Kano for about four weeks, but it was by design...

I'm back at Kano now Kiss
Thanks for sharing, and your service!  I just started mining 12/2017, and started at Slush, without a clue as to why except it was the first pool I read about and I probably saw a recommendation in a YouTube video.  Long story short, someone suggested I try Kano, so I pointed 1x S9 here and tried to figure out the difference in pools.  THEN I found this forum and realized this is an awesome community of like-minded BTC champions in this for far more than just the fiat.  That was enough for me, so I'm now officially 100% Kano.  I can't see how I'm ever going to recoup my $30k+ investment (reassuring sentiments welcome), but thanks to the Team Kano community at least I'll enjoy the ride!  Happy Hump Day Mining all!

10 or so s9's?  Hopefully not just 6 of them.   Just keep mining away.
Unfortunately, I'm one of the idiots who paid $5k+ for S9s on eBay in December.  I then bought a few more from Bitmain, and a couple T9s when I had coupons.  I also picked up 2x S9s off Craigslist at $2k each from a guy who panicked when BTC dropped a few weeks ago and thought it was going to zero.  So that helped my DCA.  I'm up to 4x S9s and 3x T9s online right now, with 4 more S9s due to arrive any day now.  New breakers arrived yesterday so by end of the weekend I'll have everything running on 240 which should help ease the electrical bill a bit.

Already been tried, read over the last 20 or so pages. Kano tried buying 1Ph himself.
At time of writing I can load a cart with the MOQ of 3x lots of 20x 821s and start the checkout process.  Now maybe that's as far as I would get, but assuming they validated the order then it appears that one buyer could purchase 60x 821s (66 to be exact since each lot includes 2x "free" units) for $120,825, including shipping.  That works out to about $1830/miner.  Not exactly a steal, but better than the prices from Canaan's approved resellers.

Then you have to add shipping (and then shipping to get everything from point B to points C, D, E, F, G......).

The $120,825 did include shipping.  However, you are correct that re-shipping to everyone would add some cost.  That could add $50-100 depending on location.  Considering that their resellers are selling 821s for $2899/unit we'd still be money ahead even with the double shipping.

Just wondering what equipment you guys using ?
R u all big players with s9s?
My   741 should be here mon or tue but also managed to get some antminer u3’s
Obv they r gonna be used were i get free elec and got them real cheap so thats another 3x 63gh’s that i will add online
Now for me its all fun adding the small units like the u3’s but will they help the pool out in any way?
Or r they a waste of space 😂
Obv i can resell then and make money so im happy to run then on kano or sell them for profit lol

I wouldn't go so far as to say I'm a "big player", based on the fact that I was SO late to this party, when it really only made sense to buy S9s in December when I got started.  I set up a small farm in an old 1950s era dry cleaner that had 200 amps of service just waiting for someone to tap.  I am now running 4x S9s and 3x T9s with 4x S9s enroute from Bitmain.  Now that I'm a little better educated, I am hoping to scale with Avalons, but they don't really cater to small-scale miners unless you are in a position to pay for the markups through their distributors.  A small consortium of Kano miners is combining resources, i.e. $, in hopes of getting enough people together to place an MOQ of 66x 821s direct through Canaan, so if we pull that off we will add about .72 PH/s to Team Kano. Happy Monday Mining to everyone!

Sorry all, I've deleted all the posts about someone getting people to fund buying miners.
Firstly, I've no idea who the person is, and secondly it's a brand new account asking for people to send them money.
Both of those mean the discussion will be not be held here.

That was me Kano.  Apologies if it was out of line.  I was hoping to find some way to harness the collective buying power of the pool to purchase 821s wholesale from Canaan.  It seemed like a good idea at the time, but I recognize the inherent risk of the proposition.  My hope was that I could keep the process transparent enough, including providing a sufficient amount of my personal information, so that all involved would be comfortable with the arrangement.  I loved the idea of pushing 66x 821s to the pool in the next 30-45 days, at a reasonable up front cost, but again I completely understand the hesitation on your side.  No harm, no foul?  Happy hashing everyone.
11  Bitcoin / Pools / Bitmain coupons on: February 27, 2018, 02:43:44 PM
Hey all, first post here.  I'm a noob working on building a small farm in Minnesota in an old dry cleaner with some excess power.  I have accumulated some coupons at Bitmain that I won't be able to use, so I thought I would offer them up to the Kano family.  I would only ask that you solemnly swear to use them for purchases you will mine yourself and point to Kano.  I will happily accept a couple bones thrown my way if you're so inclined, but I'm not expecting it.  Just yesterday they released coupons to everyone (clearly they are sitting on inventory) so maybe you don't need these.  But if you were planning on ordering a pile of S9s this would save you some dough.  Email me at smallmax at geemail with your email and I'll figure out how to transfer them to you.
