1  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Issues with my Avalon 2nd Gen on: July 09, 2014, 09:08:37 PM
Or maybe someone knows where I could get a new network card?
2  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Issues with my Avalon 2nd Gen on: July 08, 2014, 10:48:56 PM
That image doesn't work for me. I'm pretty sure I need the network card working, which mine doesn't. All it says is the TP-link is in a port forwarded state and then nothing. No console no nothing. Just the boot notes and keyboard doesn't work.

I have access to a PC with a card reader. I'll download the RPi image and give it a go.

Don't I need a network card to do that? Mine is toast. That's why I'm using USB.

I yanked the PSU out of my PC (750W) and it still did the same thing. I then pulled each Avalon blade to see if one wasn't working correctly. Same thing. I'm thinking I have a settings problem. I was just using the standard Minepeon settings. I've tried version 0.2.4.6 Pi & 0.2.4.5 both give me the same problem. I read something about Icarus Timings? Not sure about those. I didn't do anything fancy before. I think I was using 0.2.4.3 before...maybe I should try that?
5  Bitcoin / Hardware / Issues with my Avalon 2nd Gen on: July 07, 2014, 11:45:06 PM
I'm stumped.  Huh I have a 2nd Gen Avalon and I can't get it mining. I have it hooked up to a Raspberry Pi using Minepeon via USB. The network card doesn't work. Minepeon was corrupted, so I reinstalled it. Dicked around with it for hours and finally came to the conclusion that my SD card was bad, because I was getting linux errors. I've got a new SD card and still have the same problem.

When I plug in the miner and the RPi at the same time, it detects the miner and the fans surge. They then go high and low about 10 times and then they just sit at a low speed. It wants to mine, but something's wrong. Does this sound like a PSU problem? Or maybe it's just too hot?
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Betacoin Security Seal & Security Wallet Design on: February 15, 2014, 04:15:44 PM
It really is a great coin. The market is flooded with too many coins right now. It would be worth checking Betacoin out if you don't know much about it.

The main aim of Betacoin is staying transparent. No one wants it to be associated with drugs or illegal activities. betacoin.info was recently launched. It's a block explorer that allows you to attach comments to your transactions. That would allow a proof of payment or a way to setup invoicing.  We all know that decentralized crypto currently has a place in the mainstream and I think Betacoin will be the coin to bridge that gap.

It's been about 4 months since Betacoin launched. There has been a tremendous amount of work done in that short amount of time. Both developers and users (like me) putting together some really next level ideas. It's shaping up to be nothing short of the next Bitcoin...without the unnecessary negative publicity. Check it out.

I wanted to share my Betacoin security seal and wallet design, while promoting BET a bit. I like where it's going and the community is awesome. A lot of bright people involved. If anyone has any questions about the design or BET, please feel free to PM me.

The Latin reads, "We believe in the second coin". A little bit of word play and hopefulness on my part. Wink

I've got a ZOTAC GTX 470 for sale. I have upgraded the thermal pad to a high quality pad I used when fixing PS3s with overheating issues. I also replaced the thermal paste with Noctua nt-h1. It's not a shabby little card. I'm asking $90 shipped in the con US. Let me know if you are interested.

My HeatWare is under snerp and my ebay is impaledonastick.

That sounds good. You're going to ship it and I pay with bitcoins?

Right after I posted this someone else bought it on another site. Sorry it took me so long to follow up.
9  Bitcoin / Hardware / Can I flash a Avalon Batch 2 through USB? on: December 22, 2013, 04:00:29 AM
I just picked up an Avalon Batch 2 with a faulty NIC. Is there any way to flash the firmware? I'd like to OC it.

I've ran a few searches without any luck.

Thank you for the offer.

I am still looking. I haven't found my miner in shimmering armor yet.
12  Economy / Computer hardware / Buying 60GH of Mining Gear on: December 16, 2013, 05:13:29 AM
Looking to buy 60GH of gear. Please give me the details of your unit(s) (including actual hash rate and power draw) and asking price including shipping to Southern Oregon, USA. I should be funded and good to go by Wednesday evening PST.

I'm new here, but I do have rep on plenty of other sites. HeatWare is under snerp, eBay is impaledonastick and overclock.net is snerp. That's over 200 transactions with 100% positive feedback.

I will be needing to use escrow and will pay the fee.

Thanks!

Yeah. That was one of the first spots I checked. Seems building is a big boys game...

Anyone?
15  Other / Beginners & Help / Looking for a DIY ASIC Miner Kit on: December 13, 2013, 05:29:33 AM
I found the Klondike 16, but I can't find any of the Avalon cores for sale unless I purchase 1000 units. I have built plenty of electronics and I have my own SMT station. Anyone have a lead on a nice DIY kit for a 5GH/s miner?
