Price seriously undervalued!! Sad
It's hard to say.  We need more trade volume.  Buy or sell, let's get the Notes flowing. (I can't talk though my Notes go into a Faraday cage and never come out, a Note saved is a symphony made Grin)

On another note!  The journey begins!

Alright, I'm almost ready!  Any ideas on how to get around having to manually enter the addresses to load the paper wallet?  If not, oh well, I could use some typing practice.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][NOTE]DNotes - LAUNCHED!!! - Cryptocurrency of the Future on: May 01, 2014, 06:53:40 PM
We do envision that Cryptomoms could include a full blown commerce corner one day in the future. That could happen as a result of the efforts of a single person or a group of Cryptomoms supporters, or the efforts of the DNotes team along.
Good to learn that Chicago is among the cities you and your wife are planning to visit in your up coming cross country tour.  Three of our key supporters are from this area. I will be delighted to host a dinner party and invite them to join us if possible.
Please let our Dev. know if you need an amount of DNotes to be given away. The DNotes treasury is finally drying up after so many generous giveaways.  If necessary, I will be delighted to make a personal donation. It is a great idea for you to print many paper DNotes and give them away throughout your trip.

Wow I've been busy this is the first chance I've had since the last! Either way with the store, it's something that my wife and I want to do whether successful or not as long as it brings a profit.  We want to do a lot of little things to make one big paycheck, applying market ideas of not keeping all your income eggs in one coop.

We could work something out, we'll call it the first annual D con, lol, D for DNotes, Dcon for decontaminating the financial world!

We'll be heading round the country here very soon and will be glad to make stops for anyone who is interested in literally picking up some DNotes!  We'll be going through almost all of the outer states on the east west and south sides of the US, as well as the northern central states and we're counting on going around 10K miles.  You can PM me locations you would like me to stop at, although bear in mind we wont be able to go everywhere.  I will give bonuses to people who can point us to sites or places to go that we don't already know.  As of now the giveaway will consist of 1 block or 250 with another block as a bonus for info.  If some of you would like to make the base amount more I'd be glad to take your donations.  I will divide them by 25 to 100 depending on the amount(5k to 40k) and return any excess if I end up with some left after the trip.  Our plan or lack there of is consisting of some marked destinations and wherever the wind takes us.  So don't be shy and ask me if I'll be going through your town and I'll see what I can do.  I will make a thread on Cryptomoms and here in the next day or two and try and let people know when I"m about to enter a new state a little before.  Spread the word!  I think it will be the first of it's kind.

I'm sure I have more to say but I am WAY too distracted right now and have a bit ton of stuff to do.  I'll see if I can't find more time later today.

So I'm gonna be doing a little traveling and was thinking, you know what would be great? If there was a way of transferring funds across vast distances for little or no fee.  It would be great if I didn't have to depend on Western Union or something of the sort with exorbitant fees in case I got into trouble along the way.  You know someone not profiting greatly off of my misfortune,  unless of course we think that main st. should be a ruthless as wall st.   But I digress.  We could call this new form of, for lack of a better word, currency DNotes or Bitcoin!  You know imply in it's name that it's based on digital/technological ideas and is currency, regardless what the IRS decides it is this year.  Next year for all we know and know that they're capable of crypto could be declared a terrorist tool.  Farfetched but so are a lot of things we are experiencing now from a 1999 perspective and even 2013 perspective!  I mean come on, really!? Why are people talking about WW3/CW2? All I'm gonna say.

3)  Any ideas for a marketplace or what not?   (tie in with Cryptomoms...  maybe have a Etsy like site where items can be sold for NOTEs or other Cryptocurrencies ?   I know Fedoracoin (TIPS) just launched something like a "Hey buy stuff with TIPS site"  almost like a multiseller garage sale using TIPS as a means of currency.

I have been wanting to do this for a while.  Set up a web shop that sells anything that people have to offer.  Things like seeds, clothes, mining equipment, bunny poop, new and used, lol you know, the amazon of crypto.  When my wife and I get some time we were gonna get that started but who knows when that'll be, definitely not in the next month.  By the way we figured out the route we're taking and we'll be going though many states across the US and if the printer works we'll have many paper DNotes in tow for a cross country DNotes giveaway!  Some cities we'll be going through are: San Fran, Austin, New Orleans, New York, Chicago.

No matter how confident we are, investment always comes with certain risks, potentially loosing everything you invested, especially in crypto currencies. For this very reason, I would not encourage committing to buy orders just for the sake of putting up a buy wall. If your intent is to purchase DNotes at a certain price because you feel that it is a good investment, then it should be your judgement call as to whether the risk to reward profile is acceptable as it applies to your situation.
My tone implied a lack of thought.  But I have been waiting and watching and the time just seems right for me.  I want to pick up a bigger stake in DNotes but on my terms through creating a buy wall.  I'm not trying to anything other than that.  Although it would be nice if my actions had a positive effect.  My comment was just a cry for attention. I feel like starting a great buy wall of DNotes anyone wanna add some bricks?

If everyone thinks it's a good idea, I'm in.
I'm using allcoin  And am going to start it at 116 and see what happens after a day or two.
Kind of annoying that coinwarz gives such a low profitability for mining based on a 50 sat price when not very many have sold for that much.
If you go off the avg between allcoin and polinex (about 150) its almost if not the most profitable if the dif is correct

Tofer, does that "black gold" you are talking about makes daylily flowers more? I happen to know someone who own a 38 acre daylily farm. It will take more than 3 bunnies. Lol.
If I'm correct it will be mostly nitrogen which is for the growth of foliage.  I think if I feed them more dandelion it will be higher in potassium which will be good for more/bigger flowers.  I'm not an expert on buns you know but I'm fairly sure it works like that.

The network hashrate has fallen by 75% of the past from days, from over 200 MH/s, to less than 50 MH/s

It's a little worrisome to me. My take is that the CryptoMoms release has created a lot of sellers from their giveaway coins, which has pushed down the price, causing DNotes to move down the rankings at coinwarz.com, which has moved miners away.

Idk, maybe dumb reasoning. But whatever the case, we need more miners. The strength of that network is the foundation for any PoW coin.
There is not much we can do other than continue our efforts to build DNotes core value.  We are obviously sticking with DNotes and will be working towards a more relevant/reliable coin for the foreseeable future.  As we all know, that will take time.  The trading price hasn't dropped much but other coins have risen.  If you look at allcoins 30 day you'll see that we are still on the up trend and with the launch of crypto moms I couldn't see much of a change in that pattern.  It's just that other coins are doing their thing and rising only to fall back down and causing the miners to follow suit.  We saw this a week or two ago and we came back.  If you think about it we've had 50 to 75 Mh at the min. which is a decent amount of hardware behind us that seems to be here to stay.  And as long as we can keep that base expanding we'll be fine.  There will be a reckoning one day and the coins that are in it only for the market trading will... go away and we'll still be here working with crypto moms and whatever else is going to come from this great community! Grin

This is hilarious..it made my day as I have had a rough one.. Grin Grin So the multipool Idea is not a good one then now I understand the reasons why.
But do they accept DNotes?
And the multipool is a good idea it just doesn't really fit the idea of a friendly community where we support all coins even though we're all about DNotes here.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][NOTE]DNotes - LAUNCHED!!! - Cryptocurrency of the Future on: April 17, 2014, 09:54:52 PM
I just thought of a funny idea.  I have 3 bunnies and use their poop to fertilize my gardens.  They make a lot and I'll never use it all!  So maybe I can package and sell it.  I just had to share this idea since I think it's hilarious. Grin  But still a good idea none the less.  Any takers?  It's actually really good since you don't have to compost it and it can be mixed in the soil and left to breakdown.  It's funny because I crush it and it just looks like stevia powder but a little darker, and it doesn't smell bad either! Grin

That's why I don't ask mining questions!!!!  I never thought through the dumping part - you are right.

No worries lol.
That was what I was thinking too.  Too many mine to dump multipools.  I wanted to get more of a mine to invest system set up.  Oh I cant remember the name but there is a site that is like the crypto stock market where you can invest in start ups and stuff.  But knowing as many heads as you can get are better than one, we could all share info or rumors on the next big win or loss.  I'm already willing to put in 100 USFIAT to get a pool going which will hopefully be more than enough.  We could even add a shop down the line where OCMs can offer products and services.  You know try and create an market for OCMs to work from home.
By the way Original Crypto Moms lol gettin gangster. Grin

Tofer, I hope you will be getting much better soon. There are huge opportunities for our team going forward. We will be making a serious attempt to recruit many more to join our team. One possibility you might want to consider is forming an all girls mining team and mining pool team.  Get your wife involved if she is interested. Come up with a simple business plan. This is a project worthy of men's support and will be a vaulable contribution to the success of Cryptomoms. We will continue to deliver on substance, not big claim. The media community eyes and ears are on Cryptomoms. Let us know if you are interested.
Sounds good!  Do you know of any simple but informative guides to setting up a pool?  I'll see what I can dig up myself, but for now I'll post the idea on cryptomoms and see if anyone wants to take part.  I'm thinking of a team of miners who collaborate and donate.  A sort of crypto interest group, one where we mine a coin and either donate or invest in crypto projects we decide are worth while.  Of course it would be completely collaborative with no real leader but instead, a group of informed miners/investors who not only want to mine but invest in the structure of crypto.

Tofer, if you want to use this as a convenient excuse to recruit your wife to join us I am okay with that. However, there is no gender restriction at Cryptomoms. Everyone is welcomed.  There will be many targeted campaigns with a primary focus in reaching out to women.
Oh I know I'm just messing around

Also I edited what I wrote earlier if any one wants to check it out I thought I'd leave a localbtc mention in there because it does allow for cash transactions for people who don't have a bank account.  They're out there.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][NOTE]DNotes - LAUNCHED!!! - Cryptocurrency of the Future on: April 13, 2014, 03:08:32 AM

Yeah, I guess that's true now that I think about it.  I was using localbitcoin a while back since I wanted to use cash.  I can draft one with coinbase instead.

Also could anyone who has been really active here pm me their address and I can split up a couple days worth of my mining between you(about 5k).  I think there's about 5 of you right?

I've been out for so long I have no idea what is going on with the heartbleed crap. Are we going to have to upgrade our wallets?

Sounds good. Would you be willing to post it on the cryptomoms.com forum? Then if you don't mind I would like to use it as a base for a blog post.

DNotes windows wallet users are unaffected.
Consider my creations open source to be copy and pasted added to and used how you see fit by default, credit is always appreciated but not necessary. I like to keep the crypto theme with my work. You can quote me on that!

Good to know we're unaffected maybe an official notice is in order, as I know it affects ssl but it isn't really clear to the average person who is affected and since Bitcoin was affected people like me most likely assume the same thing.  But this may have already been covered.

I'm not going to post it on cryptomoms forum since I'm not a cryptomom!  So I'll have my wife get on there and maybe I can get her as informed as me! lol She isn't a mom but she will be some day so I'll call it close enough.  If she doesn't want to I'll do it though I'm just messing around.

A short explanation of how and where to get Bitcoin and then DNotes.

Wow, great write up Tofer. My only concern would be that it sounds a little scary in the beginning. Maybe I should look at localbitcoin again before I make that assessment though, haven't been there in a while. Today, I would feel much more comfortable directing users to coinbase because of their reputation.

Coinbase is, far and away, the place to send anyone new to this game. Coinbase has got 25m in VC money from Andreesen Horowitz (THE biggest name in High Tech Venture Capital), sits in the heart of Silicon Valley/Bay Area, has over a million users, is integrated with Overstock.com, Mint.com, and others....it's a no brainer as to be the place to send anyone getting into Bitcoin for the first time.

A short explanation of how and where to get Bitcoin and then DNotes.

Buying Bitcoin is a simple process made seemingly difficult by the techno jargon of making a trade.  It's really as simple as make an offer, make a transfer, you have Bitcoin!  Currently the most popular and secure avenue to purchase Bitcoin is through Coinbase.  Coinbase employs a very official simple process to get your coins.  If you are familiar with using paypal or similar processors you will find it easy to use Coinbase.  Creating a coinbase wallet/account is straight forward and only requires a valid email.  From there you can familiarize yourself with their system and how the site works.  Then you add and verify your account information and you're ready to get your coins. Another option is Localbitcoins.com. Think of it as the Craigslist of Bitcoin with all the same risks associated.  One thing that makes LocalBTC different is instead of only being able to use a bank account you can get your coins with cash in person or any other form of online payment really. Localbitcoins should be used by experienced traders who are familiar with the risks.

Once you purchase your bitcoin it will be in the wallet of your choice if you followed proper procedure.  There are a few options like online or cloud wallets, desktop wallets, and strait to exchanges.  An exchange is a online/cloud wallet but unlike the cloud wallet you can trade your coins.  For storage purposes a desktop wallet is the best for any cryptocurrency.  If you want to have your coins ready to trade for profits keeping them on an exchange is the best, but keep in mind the risks involved.  As many of you may know the recent collapse of a few exchanges have left depositors hanging with no or little compensation.  This is why if you store your coins on an exchange you want to use one that will give you interest on them.  The higher the interest the better, at least you can sideline interest gains to hedge against a possible loss or you could let it compound and take the risk.  And finally there are the online wallets. These I only recommend for people who don't actually have a computer for a wallet and don't want the risk of an exchange collapse.  But still there is site security to worry about, as with any website it is susceptible to hacking and a subsequent loss of your coins.  Sometimes when and exchange or online wallet is hacked you can recover some of your coins from the site operators but don't count on it.  The best way is always going to be in your possession with the official wallet.

To safely exchange your bitcoin for any other alt coin you need an exchange account.  Specifically I will be talking about how to get DNotes.   Currently the best exchange, in my opinion, is Allcoin.com.  There you can easily set up an account, transfer your bitcoin to and from as well as exchange a multitude of currencies, DNotes being one of them.  Once you get an account set up you can transfer your coins to there by simply going to the send tab in your wallet and entering the receive address given to you by the exchange, the amount and the pass key if you set one up which is highly recommended.  Once your bitcoin is there you can trade it for DNotes by either making an offer or taking someones offer.  I recommend making an offer unless you think the price is bottomed or low in which case you may want to take an offer.  But in most cases you'll find that if you make your offer around the top of the list you'll pick up some if not all of what you're looking for.  The same idea applies to selling as well.

When you trade you want to think of it as a negotiation.  You either stay firm in the price you want or if after a while you don't get anywhere you inch a little closer to what the other person wants.  When you think about it you don't often walk into a store and buy the first product off the shelf.  You look at the same product the competitors are offering and make a decision on which is better.  Just like in an exchange why would you go in an buy or sell for the first price you see.  This is one of the reasons why prices fluctuate so much with coins because there are a lot of novice "traders" who don't really understand how a market works.  Also since these coins are being created daily there is the group of people who don't care for price and just sell sell sell.  A lot of people see this as bad but when you think about it like I said earlier if you make an offer around the top of the buy list someone will sell it to you.  This makes for a tricky balance because if nobody puts their buy orders high enough, miners will simply stop selling and mining making the actual value of a coin to drop and then the market value to drop.  If you aren't a big miner selling no matter the price when you sell you have to negotiate too but it's a little more difficult because you have those pesky big guys undercutting you left and right.  You don't want to follow suit and "dump" it's better to as with the buy orders put it at the top of the list and eventually the two will meet and level out.  And finally don't take advice from anyone when it comes to when and how much you should invest that decision is best left to yourself as nobody can predict the future.
