1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to ruin Dogecoin on: December 26, 2013, 12:55:44 AM
Mr. Dogecoin (the creator) is already aware of the issue and will fix it, so relax guys.  It's not the end of the world.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin - very currency - many coin - wow - v1.2 Released on: December 20, 2013, 08:17:35 PM

Who's paying?  I mined my meillions and had a blast doing it.  Cost me about $10 in electricity and have many $1000's sitting with the price as it is now. Buy on fear, sell on greed.  When we going to hear you pump DOGE?  That's right, we wont 'cause your just a fear monger mongrel.  We be full blooded DOGEs Grin

I don't believe in copycoins.
There are only a handful of "unique" coins like bitcoin (SHA-256), litecoin (scrypt) and a few cpu-only coins.
The rest is just copy the opensource, edit names and parameter, create the blocks, premine and release. There is NO benefit from these coins.

BTW:
Mining during the first 1-5 days of a new scamcoin is allways very profitable. But nobody knows if they keep rising or falling down hard. And a few 1000$ in 2 days is enough for me (measured on electicity costs).

except dogegoin *wasnt* pre-mined, so calling it a scamcoin is, well, incredibly dishonest.

3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin Pool www.gooddoge.com - 0.5% fee on: December 20, 2013, 02:31:12 PM
Im am so sorry to be back ... and im so sorry your pool isnt going as it should, I boosted you from 9MH/s pool to 11 MH/s at the beginning. kind of nice for me as well to se a difference when im joining a pool.

I have been mining since my last post in this thread cause i thought, what the hell every pool out there is getting Ddos, so this one is kind of nice even though i have never been able to se Confirmed and unconfirmed on my account. But now when you are closing down?

I need the Dogecoin i have been mining since my last post.

Im so sorry your pool didnt turn out the way it should, best regards from Denmark

Dogecoin wallet: DCWWTFi45ELaTeCCvdkhoTEUTw2FHmVfqf

No blocks were found, so there WAS no dogecoin mined.
Doges are only awarded (to the pool and to users) when blocks are found.  Do folks not understand how mining works?

Like, I really want to help everyone out, but its not like I was getting any DOGE during this period to pay you guys with either, you know?
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin Pool www.gooddoge.com - 0.5% fee on: December 20, 2013, 04:00:39 AM
I'm going to leave it up a little bit longer to give folks more time to withdraw their doge (a bunch of folks have no wallet info on their accounts, so I cant force-payout to them).

The server *WILL* go down at 7am pacific time tomorrow, no more delays.
5  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin Pool www.gooddoge.com - 0.5% fee on: December 20, 2013, 02:31:13 AM
The server will be getting shut down at 8pm pacific tonight.  please be sure to withdraw all your DOGE by then.  I am doing my best to get the balance of the wallet to autopay to everyone, but please be safe and login and check for yourself!
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin Pool www.gooddoge.com - 0.5% fee on: December 20, 2013, 01:46:32 AM
send me a PM with your username
I cant promise to pay everyone all the doge they would have earned IF we found any blocks, since we didnt find any blocks, and I dont have that many doge, lol
but I will do the best I can
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin Pool www.gooddoge.com - 0.5% fee on: December 20, 2013, 12:20:03 AM
Oh man, this sucks... I know u worked so hard to get this going...

But i'm still missing like 50-70k dogecoins D= Or something like that. D=

hey, I still need to look into your account specifically.  Dont worry man, I'll make sure you get taken care of properly!

to above post: Honestly, I really wanted to just let it ride, but people are still mining with a lot of hashrate, and I dont want to feel responsible for their possibly wasted mining time Sad does that make sense?

if there's a lot of call to just let it run.. I mean... I guess I can.. but I want people to understand that I make no promises that its working properly at this point.
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin Pool www.gooddoge.com - 0.5% fee on: December 20, 2013, 12:04:36 AM
so, just to get this in the open:
the dude who threatened me and demanded back his 20000 deposit?  (which isnt a thing)
and who is telling me that he contacted support (even though my support button is disabled)
and who then tells me that he had a whole bunch of doge in my pool that he tried to withdraw (even though all of my logs indicate he never had any transactions or confirmed doge mined)

I *still* paid him out for the amount he is claiming I owed him.  I just want to be super clear about this.  I sent him the DOGE from my own personal wallet.

If he tries to claim otherwise, I'll be happy to post the link to the transaction chain showing that I did.

So, everyone will be paid, I am a man of my word.

also, this is exactly the sort of reason why I'm shutting the pool down tonight.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin Pool www.gooddoge.com - 0.5% fee on: December 19, 2013, 11:10:48 PM
can you provide me with some more details please?
I've looked up your user (assuming the same username) and I dont show any transactions for your account.

What time (as close as you can tell me) did you ask it to withdraw?
how many doge?
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin Pool www.gooddoge.com - 0.5% fee on: December 19, 2013, 11:02:39 PM
really?  I dont wanna know?
I've got plenty of threats already, thanks.

Also, what deposit?  We dont take deposits?  So... I'm really not sure wtf you're talking about there.  Are you in the wrong thread?
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin Pool www.gooddoge.com - 0.5% fee on: December 19, 2013, 08:52:06 PM
After the next block is completed/found by the pool, I will be shutting down all mining on gooddoge.com

Running this server is not what I do for a living, and was intended to try to help the community out.

I've made a grand total of 8k doge from running the pool, at a cost in USD of significantly more than that.

Unfortunately, our issues have done nothing but eat up all of my time, and resulted in lots of threats against myself and accusations of impropriety from the community.

As I've said before, I will make sure everyone gets paid out for their work.  I'm gonna let it keep mining in hopes that we finally hit a block, but once we do that will be the end of the site.  If we dont hit a block in a reasonable amount of time, I will still stop mining and just pay folks out from my own DOGE collection as best I can.

Thank you for your understanding and support.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin Pool www.gooddoge.com - 0.5% fee on: December 19, 2013, 07:50:26 PM
ok, so, I've been chatting with some of the other pool owners, and a LOT of pools are seeing this same behavior right now.

the current theory is that because of all the multipools that have jumped on the DOGE bandwagon, and the increased network hash rate, the average block find time for the not-gigantic pools is going WAY up.

and so we really truly for-honest probably just havent found a block yet.

blocks ARE being rewarded.  its just the time has gone through the roof.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin Pool www.gooddoge.com - 0.5% fee on: December 19, 2013, 07:09:10 PM
there are only shares missing if we completed any blocks.

All the stratum logs (which is what tells me if we found any blocks) say we havent found any blocks.

So you are still accumulating shares towards whenever we find a block.

Now, it *looks* like the *REASON* we didnt find any blocks in so long could have been an issue with the stratum mining code we were running before (which has since been replaced).

However, I cannot magic blocks into existence Cheesy If I could, I'd be rich and quit working my day job haha.

That said, I am still not ready to 100% declare that we just havent found any blocks for almost 24 hours now.  I'm looking into it with every spare moment I have.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin Pool www.gooddoge.com - 0.5% fee on: December 19, 2013, 06:43:12 PM
bonus feature of the new stratum code - whenever a block gets found (on the back end) I will get an email notification
so if blocks are found I can instantly check and verify that they're being credited correctly
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin Pool www.gooddoge.com - 0.5% fee on: December 19, 2013, 06:28:40 PM
so I'm told that the stratum-mining code we were using is deprecated
migrated to new hotness

still digging into issues
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin Pool www.gooddoge.com - 0.5% fee on: December 19, 2013, 06:01:49 PM
reaching out to some experts to try to help run this down, since it is clearly a problem beyond my understanding at this point.

thanks for your patience so far everyone!
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin Pool www.gooddoge.com - 0.5% fee on: December 19, 2013, 05:38:54 PM
dont blame you, or anyone else, who wants to switch to another pool while I figure this out Cheesy

its really frustrating for all of us!  (I'm mining on this pool too!  so many DOGEs Sad )
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin Pool www.gooddoge.com - 0.5% fee on: December 19, 2013, 05:07:16 PM
I've found ways to crank up the logging even higher, so I have cranked up even more ridiculous logging to hopefully shed some light on this
will keep you guys posted!
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin Pool www.gooddoge.com - 0.5% fee on: December 19, 2013, 04:25:20 PM
not yet.
I will do my best to provide updates at least every hour, if not more frequently.

every indication in every log I can check is that we just straight up havent found any blocks since yesterday.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [ANN][DOGE] Dogecoin Pool www.gooddoge.com - 0.5% fee on: December 19, 2013, 03:41:48 PM
so far I havent found any signs that we've found any additional blocks in the past 17 hours (from going through all the system logs for stratum and the dogecoind network).
so it is *possible* that we've just been incredibly unlucky, but that seems unlikely.

Still investigating, but no obvious signs of anything actually wrong yet.
