1  Economy / Speculation / Re: Coinbase pissed off some people with lawyers on: February 01, 2015, 03:14:02 AM
But whatever happened to "Buy the rumor, sell the news."?

Buy the fake news, sell on reality Sad

It wasn't a rumor it was a flat out lie.

If you purchased Bitcoin from Coinbase on Sunday/Monday morning or are a
"rick rolled" victim please be sure to contact:

jonathan.levy@tripplevy.com

It is 100% confidential contacting him.

(This is the law firm out of NY and has offices in LA or something.)

It cost $0 through them and they take 25%-33% of what is recovered.  Pretty sweet deal if you don't have the $ for a retainer ect ect.  It also means the firm doesn't get paid unless they win... gives the lawyers a little kick in the ass for a positive outcome for the victims.

Even if you do contact them it would probably be wise to contact your State Attorney General and a lawyer that you trust as well.

This is the reason the US sucks now.  I bought a few coins, not worried about the loss after the past year.  I maintained a speculative mind frame during my purchase.
2  Economy / Speculation / Re: The Despondancy Stage on: February 01, 2015, 02:42:16 AM
Bitcoin is an emerging technology.  That being said, most of the people invested and developing bitcoin refuse to acknowledge the issues with the protocol and currency as it is currently being used.  Several Altcoins have addresses these issues.  Anonymous transactions, Darkcoin.  Deflation/Inflation feedback, Peercoin, Transaction times and blockchain trust issues, pretty much any altcoin.  There is more adoption of bitcoin, but not much development.  Sidechains, where are we with that?  Peercoin has more progress with sidechains or some form of that than bitcoin or any other altcoin.

I am not trying to be a troll, but this should disturb investors in my opinion.  It probably will not because they do not understand the technology, so expect another good bubble in the next couple of years.

and your mass adoption is where?? in a circle jerk of speculators?

Coinbase Exchange and Gemini should lead to another speculative round of adoption in the next year.

Did it ever occur to you that the Winklevii twins are complete idiots?

lol, I will reserve my judgement for now.

I would say 450+ this time next year.  Good time to buy.  After seeing the volume when it dropped blow 200, I could care less about the short term drops.  This really is a good time to buy, in my opinion.
6  Economy / Speculation / Re: Coinbase pissed off some people with lawyers on: January 31, 2015, 01:27:33 AM
lol This is not going anywhere.  The attorneys will jerk each other off and then settle for some undisclosed amount which will basically cover their fees.
7  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How Many TH will you need to mine 1 BTC per month in January 2015? on: January 17, 2015, 02:17:16 AM
Hi Im running at 4.5 TH/s and through Btc guild I earn about 1.5 BTC a month
Hope this helps

Thanks for the confirmation.  I saw the post and was wondering how it would turn out.
8  Economy / Speculation / Re: Does it reminds you something? on: January 17, 2015, 02:07:18 AM
Yeah, March or April might be a good month.
9  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bye Bye to sub-$200 cheap coins on: January 17, 2015, 01:55:29 AM
Exactly. Keep buying to mitigate your losses and lower your break even number. Much smarter than selling like some of these other dipshits.

Agreed
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: April 27, 2014, 07:23:22 AM
Do you still think it was only 2 reports and I was just a KNC hater?
I was merely reporting the facts.

and now for a prediction... ... here comes the datahall offer for FrankenJupiter convertees...

*Someone's gonna be really pissed off at KNC when they realize what just happened, and why IMHO.

nope, just worried cause i received mine but didnt get it inspected before i mailed it again.  im trying to stop it now, before any more damage happens.  you said there were dozens of reports but didnt provide any proof and at that time i only found 2 reports.  it wasnt until i talked to my other buddy in florida, who had 5 unit sent and all five were fkd.
I imagine due to the Heat sink not being screwed down, but rather being held down by "pressure" from foam and the top of the case cover, that most if not all units will need to be opened, inspected and properly re-assembled if the boards are still viable.
Avenger mentioned that the boxes had no sign or arrow for "up" which then allowed for the boxes to be rotated as they moved along the shipping line, and this caused most if not all heat sinks to slip off the ASIC CHIP. I have some heat sinks that are about side ways laying across the boards, so pushing with a pen/pencil through the slots WILL NOT BE AN OPTION.

Whatever happens, I am not mining with these or powering them on until I get word from KNC. I unpacked each unit as carefully as possible to look for small pieces (resistors) and found at least 1 or 2 in the wrapping of every unit and way more in others where the heat sinks beat the shit out of the boards. Some boards I can visibly see they are fucked, but others I can not so I take no chances.

I have received an email that says basically 'hurry up and wait' we'll get to your problem order number 666666666 or something like that.
LOOL, i  laugh at you so HARD! .So you invested your dads money in to knc and expect to earn million $ by babysitting your miner? And now crying  HHHAAHHAA!Dude seriously get a real job!

These guys have thousands of dollars if not millions in some cases invested in this equipment.  Don't mock them, not cool.
11  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: [Antminer S1 Sales open] Price changes daily, now 0.63 BTC for 180GH/s on: April 24, 2014, 07:11:54 PM
Well, crap, if I had just waited one more day for the price drop.
12  Economy / Speculation / Re: Smart to sell at a loss in anticipation? on: March 29, 2014, 06:01:05 AM
We are at the bottom.  It might dip to 450 or even 400, but I doubt much less.  2x last previous ATH is how it has normally stabilized and then it pops after a while to a new ATH.  I give it 8 months or so hit a new ATH.
13  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: What company to buy a miner from? on: March 29, 2014, 12:48:05 AM
I have ordered the Antminer S1 from https://www.bitmaintech.com/product.htm and from one of his resellers https://www.112bit.com/

Both orders were delivered in less than a week and the units have been operating overclocked at 393.75 Mhz with less than a 1% error rate.  The Antminer S2, which claims 1 TH, just came out and probably shipped today.  I am waiting for the reviews and the next batch or two before pulling the trigger on my purchase, but I am not expecting to be disappointed.
14  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: HELP!! ANTMINER S1 $3000 Payment "UNPAID" on: March 28, 2014, 07:57:48 PM
Same thing happened to me.  I ordered on the 20th, paid within 5 minutes, order status expired, sent an email and 24 hours later the order status changed to paid and not shipped.  I was going to wait 48 hours to email them again, which would have been on a Wednesday, but the order showed up that Monday.  They shipped it Friday and I got it Monday, which is really fast.  My status remained not shipped for 3 or 4 days after I got it.  They must be really busy.
15  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: [440 TH] BitMinter.com [1% PPLNS,Pays TxFees + MergedMining,Stratum,GBT,vardiff] on: January 26, 2014, 03:16:55 AM
Hi.. I new to bitcoin mining. Currently have a usb asic miner with a speed of 2Gh/s. By watching the rise of the difficulty, it may not profitable at all because while calculating, i found that higher dificulty requires longer mining and the longer i mine with the same speed, the lower the income. So what should i do? Any suggestion?

As long as the income is higher than the electricity cost, it is profitable. Are you really at the point now where you are losing money to electricity costs?

Well, i'm still a university student  so at the moment, i could ignore the electricity bill. i just started mining 8 days ago. Still dont know when i could afford to buy mining rig coz it's expensive. I have a plan to buy usb asic 1 by 1 for a few months but maybe at that time it's useless coz the difficulty..
Currently mining at bitminter pool..

I am a student as well.  You would be better off using the money to buy Bitcoin and holding it rather than buying a usb erupter.  You would also make more profit mining PPC and converting it to BTC at this difficulty level.  I decided to point my blades at a PPC pool and convert to BTC when the price is right instead of buying new mining equipment.  I buy BTC monthly based on what I would have mined if I had upgraded my equipment, which at the time I was considering a KNC Jupiter.  I have made more profit just buying BTC, so it has worked out so far.  I hope this helps in your decision making.

Welcome on board. You need to do more post to get out of the Newbie jail.  Smiley

Thanks for the welcome.  I am not sure what else I can include, but I did purchase 2 27" monitors from Overstock.com using Bitcoin.  I got them 4 days later and could not be more happy with the simplicity of the transaction.  I am looking forward to Bitcoin's growth over the next several years.

Hi everyone.  I have been lurking since last year and have learned much about Bitcoin from this site.  I started mining Bitcoin last year and have really enjoyed my new hobby.  I started purchasing and trading Bitcoin in lieu of upgrading my mining equipment in December and spend most of my time lurking the speculation board to gain more insight into Bitcoin’s price movements.

Anyway, just wanted to introduce myself.
