I was thinking $2-3 a day.. Nice to see it is like $2.75-$3.50
I already have a mining rig with (3) 1080ti's that I thought about adding the 480 to, but the 850w PSU isn't strong enough to support the card so I would need to go out and spend like $200 on a new PSU.
Or I can mine for 12hrs a day when my wife isnt using the PC, but it would require me to start it up after she finished work and turn it off before she starts.. Kind of annoying
Why? Equihash does not interfere with the work at the computer. With ETH of course it will not work. If her work is not load using a videocard, then arrange an experiment. Your right! and my IT guy said the same thing. However the computer kept crashing so I guess I need to investigate. It only has 4gb of RAM which should be enough, but I am buying another 8gb stick to make sure that isn't part of the issue. Could simply be the afterburner settings.. I guess I will look into it this weekend. That would be the BEST WIN/WIN though! you fools do realize there are other resources on the pc that are being used too, not just the gpus, computer crashed for a reason, theres also a reason why a REAL miner builds a DEDICATED mining rig instead of trying to use there own pc for mining like some noob I do, hence why I haven't been using it to mine. 4gb of RAM is required for a mining PC. If I upgrade it to 8gb I should have wiggle room from a ram standpoint. The CPU is a Ryzen 1700 which I highly doubt it being taxed by mining since I am not mining on the CPU. Also I have it set to only use 80% of the gpu during mining which should give me enough room for my wife to remote into her company's cloud server and put very little strain on the PC while it mines.. I honestly think something is just unstable, maybe it was the clock settings I had. Am I wrong or not talking something into consideration?

Starting to lean towards selling it.. not worth the hassle unless I want to build a PC just for the card in another room.

Recommendation on a 1000w PSU?
Was thinking a simple Corsair RM 1000w for $180... It would pain me to spring for the HX at $250
I think the RX480 makes $2-3 /day max so it would take way too long to pay off the PSU upgrade before I am in the green.
|
|
|
Replacing the PSU would cost me at least $180-$250 for a new one if I can squeeze it on to this one. I could probably sell mine for a few bucks, but still an initial cost increase..
I will check out the forum links you provided and look for how much I can get daily with the RX480 to see if this is at wall worth the hassle.
Thanks!

Thought maybe I would get some help here..
Anyone know what wattage (3) 1080ti's running at 80% load pull? Wondering if I can add an MSI RX480 8gb Gaming X to the same miner and if my EVGA GQ 850 Watt 80 Plus Gold would support all of them. Not even sure if it is possible to have Nvida and AMD on the same build..
1080 ti & 1080 & 970 100% load <a href=" https://c2n.me/3Rci9g9"><img src=" https://c2n.me/3Rci9g9.png" alt="7b864-clip-4kb"/></a> Perfect so even 100% load I am only at 678w with the 3 cards only. At 80% I am at 550w.. Now to figure out if I can add the RX480 to the build. Running on a low wat CPU, I think the Intel 6100 or 6300, a few fans and a few HDDs

Wondering if it is worth it to take the MSI RX480 8G card out of my wife's Work PC and put some cheap POS in it or just sell it on eBay for $300. She doesn't need a decent gpu for work...
Thoughts.. Also if anyone had overclock recommendations for MSI Afterburn I would appreciate it.

Can you mix AMD and Nvidia cards on the same PC (when mining of course)?
Also what watt PSU would I need for the (3) 1080tis and the (1) RX480 Running the 1080tis at 80% load only.
I have an EVGA GQ 850 Watt 80 Plus Gold
The Mobo is a ASUS PRIME Z270-AR LGA 1151 and supports Quad SLI

Anyone else mining equihash on the 1080ti? Just wondering what the optimal settings were.
Have been doing 70% with +200 mhz and getting around 700sol per card
Just bumped it up to 80% with +200mhz and added +300 mem, but only seeing like 710 avg per card.
Don't think that is worth it. Thoughts?
Update: Bumped it to 85% just to see.. my first card won't go over 700 sol (probably just poor lottery) My other (2) seem to by pushing 725-730sol..
Overall I am not seeing too much gain from increasing the mem or going from 80 to 85%. Thinking 80% with just the +200 mhz was the best bang for the buck.

Is it me or has btc value increased and nicehash is still paying out the same crummy values per day.. if not worse since I am still making $8-10 per day with my 3 1080ti

How would I go about mining SIGT? Been so used to Nicehash..
Don't remember how anything else works.

Is SIGT still where it's at? Never gotten off Nicehash before.. Kind of Newb and need some help.

Was on vacation the last week.. is it too late to get on the sigt boat?
Also what is everyone's thought about holding btc during the hard fork?

I have 3 1080ti's on one board
Running into an unusual heat from my first card.. it hits 75/85 where the other 2 are holding around 60..
Running at 70 tdp with 70% fan speed.. been stable for a while now. It's hot in the basement, but temps were stable until now..
Need to get some risers.. I used to have some, cant figire out where they went.
I had a similar issue with my 3 card setup some fans sorted it. It was the card that had the most space that was the hottest. It was almost near the CPU though. The squashed card was the coolest as it had the hotest card sucking heat off it and going onto itself. Yes you will want risers. My cards were not blower style and I couldn't get the hotest card above 70% tpd or it would go oever 70C. I think your right. Recommendation on where to get a powered riser? I have (2) of the old school ribbon ones.. can I use those?

Wow when did those go to $15!
don't know but I got a few today. nvOC 0017 is for linux + nvidia 0012 is for linux + amd with that usb 3.0 stick holding 64gb at good speeds it is very nice way to run a mining pc that also can do real pc work. I think it has something to do with this..... they are going out of biz https://www.theverge.com/circuitbreaker/2017/6/27/15881902/lexar-memory-card-flash-storage-sd-shut-down-micronwhat a pity, back in those days.... my first memory card was a 64GB Lexar for my Sony digital camera ....anyone remembers this handheld device that take digital photos and movies LOL :-) You mean the iphone?

Any chance someone can give me the bat config info to change the tpd, core and mem of a card. I rather have it pre-programmed in the bat than afterburn, is that a good idea?
Are you using nvOC 0017 Linux? He has a onebash file which acts like a bat. It is more stable then windows . His thread links to my step by step thread on Zec mining. I have yet to do one on eth Using Win7. I used Linux back when I folded and it was always a pain for me. nvOC 0017 THREAD: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1854250.0my newbie threads based on nvOC https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1998198.0all you need is a usb stick to test the hdd with win 7 is disconnected and the usb with linux boots I just started reading the intro post from the link, thank you. Is there a specific reason to use this over Win7 mining?
