it is easy  in fact  you  can make 5 or six sticks at a time once you have a good one.

so the google download finishes  it is long  5gb +

start to extract it

extraction is long  a minute or more

so it extracts  you open hdd raw copy pick raw img as source

pick you usb stick as target

and start to copy

make sure your source and target are correct!!

stick is pretty fast  40-50mb

in my case the new files are now on drive e

this is the oneBash  that needs to be edited

I use windows 10 on my  development pc   it is a small sized lenovo.

I click word pad

after that I click ok

and boom I am in.  note it is set to nice  I want zec

I type in ZEC

I set fan speed to 80 a bump from 75

I do a slight overclock on core and a slight under clock on ram.  note zec likes this other  coins do not like this.
first step is to say yes to individual clocks

At this point  I put in my zec mining settings.

they are set to nicehash  and to my nicehash btc address as nicehash auto-converts to btc

I also put in a worker name.

unless you want to mine for me  use your own worker name and btc address

also note I only changed zec and left all other coins set to original settings. So as not to make a mistake.

edit is done  so click to save changes

walk over to the pc place new stick in a handy spot not in the usb slots.
why is that phil.
here is why you need to do settings on the mobo

so boot your rig with no OS  and it will go to mobo.
this mobo needs a power setting change
a usb setting change
power first

you want the machine to boot after a black out so you need to change this to

this .  and machine will boot after a black out

You're a legend. Thanks heaps, I will be trying this as soon as I can get my hands on those USB sticks.

Is there any difference between using on-board video and GPU0 for monitor out? (for motherboards that have it) would on-board use more total power? does GPU0 mine the same either way?

Also would this work on any USB 3.0 stick? those lexar are not sold in my country and those who list them are out of stock.
eg: http://www.budgetpc.com.au/computer-hardware/storage-devices/usb-flash-drives/64gb-dtmicro-usb-3-1-3-0-type-a-metal-ultra-compact-flash-drive
100MB/s read 15MB/s write

I have an 8 port dvi switcher so all my pc's are attached to the first gpu in slot 1.
I do not care if I lose hash  but if you look at my photos the hash rate is

402 and 402.

been running for hours I will check in 1 minute.

one is now  399 the other 407  I assume that the lower one is running the monitor

the stick you linked is very slow 100 read speed  but 15 write speed.
see if this will come to you quickly

I've got a few systems running on Sandisk Ultra USB sticks - specifically including the 32GB Phil linked, but mostly on the 128GB version of that one (Walmart had them on sale a while back and I stocked up).

Plenty fast for a mining system, though not as fast as a good HD and nowhere near as fast as a SSD.

For a pure mining system, a low-wattage Celeron or G-series Pentium should be plenty.

I'm no longer legendary just in my own mind!

I read somewhere that Skein doesn't like the low end processors. Is that true?

Well  here is the deal.  I did a very basic newbie thread so I did not explain  some choices in parts.

My go to cpu is this one the i5 6400t used on ebay

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Intel-Core-i5-6400T-Quad-Core-2-20GHz-1MB-6MB-Socket-1151-Skylake-S-CPU-SR2L1-/152607562406?

this one is 130  I wait for an ebucks promo  of 8% or 10% off  and buy them  for about 117 usd

if lucky  as low as 108 after ebucks. They work fine  in z170 or z270 mobos.

I feel that  this is a better choice  for me and I will run them on xmr coins  this allows me  to earn about 75 cents a day extra.  I will up date this thread with  the xmr cpu mining info in the next few days.

I think  a big farm with 30 or 4 rigs may not wan the better cpu  but a guy like me with 4-8 rigs in my garage  should look into used i5 6400t cpus.  the t  means it is a power saver.  so even if you don't mine cpu coins you still save some coin in power.

Not that I've noticed, but there are some non-mining stuff that wants more CPU - and if you get an efficient CPU you can mine XMR on it like Phil says and possibly pay for the "upgrade" over a bottom-end CPU over time.

I plan on getting my newest rig (dual 1080ti on my Intel G4600/Gigabyte Z270-HD3 board "experiment", VERY similar to Phil's MB in this build) up and running today, will see how it compares.
