1  Economy / Reputation / Re: CamilaStar answering questions asked by his alt account. on: Today at 06:32:24 AM

I disagree. If that person is capable of writing for many months without getting paid until they reach the necessary rank, and then has been accepted into two different campaigns, it's because they add value.

Now I'm trying to understand, but I can't agree.  I'm sorry. There are numerous examples proving that, by posting for months, some of these people patiently increase their ratings by exchanging merits with friends or alt accounts. Is there any point or benefit in knowing who did how many push-ups on a Bitcoin forum, given that all their merits come from that thread?

A small example, one of many. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=merit;u=3670403
2  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How many times have you said "never again" after a huge gambling loss? on: Today at 06:07:21 AM
I experience regret every time I lose something without receiving even a small amount of compensation for the lost money. I also make promises to quit gambling regularly, before I feel like meeting up with friends, especially when things are going well. Forgetting bad moments is a natural tendency of the human psyche; memory tries to protect us and shield us from stress. This applies to many life circumstances. However, some instances are always worth remembering and learning from so that harmful behavior doesn't become routine and worse things don't follow.
3  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Wouldn’t you wish the same? on: Today at 05:57:26 AM
Another topic is the abuse of power. Unfortunately, we'll see many such stories, and very often. This is the nature of some people. At first, they fiercely pursue influential positions, promising voters a fair life and just laws, but after people trust them, and they're elected to leadership positions, the mask comes off, and we see lawlessness and greed. For some reason, these people decide that they are not obligated to obey existing laws and they themselves violate what they previously supported. Spending public funds becomes quite easy since they gain access to them. I wonder why these people don't see the consequences of their antics.
4  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does your instincts influence your gambling decision? on: Today at 05:46:11 AM
Of course, anyone who gambles and places bets will rely on their intuition. How else can we do it if we're betting independently? Yes, many people rely on their own analysis, their knowledge of teams, and the championship itself, but one way or another, some personal instinct dictates what to do. I know that some people bet based on their friends' opinions, but I don't think this behavior is common and only occurs when the results are positive. In all other cases, people will rely on their intuition.
5  Other / Meta / Re: Why do Administrators lock threads? on: September 23, 2025, 06:41:34 AM
Seriously, I can't thank you all enough for your contributions and words. I believe I now know what must have gone wrong that warranted the topic being locked.

I think it's as the reason of me not replying to the thread and I've learnt it in the tough way.

You also need to understand that open threads that have already been answered and fully discussed don't need to be continued, but rather serve to spread spam and useless, identical responses. Reporters often complain about open and already resolved threads, requesting that they be closed. It would also be helpful to be more mindful of all the threads you open and close yourself. We strive for a clean forum, don't we? Cleanliness begins with each individual. Please do the same with this thread.
6  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading and substance abuse. on: September 22, 2025, 02:52:41 PM
I know a trader who doesn't use all the substances mentioned in the OP's post, but he regularly uses nootropics. These are substances that stimulate and enhance brain function, which in turn help improve psychological well-being, concentration, and everything else that helps him stay in front of a computer screen for long periods of time without rest. I wouldn't pay any attention to this, since nootropics are supposed to be beneficial for him. Every substance requires a certain dosage, but this trader literally uses them by the handful, so I have a feeling he's also abusing them, which could one day end badly.
7  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Horoscope and tarot readings on: September 22, 2025, 02:31:36 PM
If anyone here were to compare several daily zodiac sign forecasts, they would see that they are all different. Some horoscopes are published based on the mood of the author, a so-called guru posing as an expert. Those who are skeptical and understand that all horoscopes are merely a figment of the "creator's" imagination do not believe such forecasts. But some look for coincidences in literally small details and regularly listen to astrological forecasts. I won't criticize: let people do what they want, but as for me, I am my own prophet and listen to my intuition, not paying attention to other signs. As for the feeling of needing to gamble, I stick to the position when my wallet is full and I can spend a little money.
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin as a defence against digital abundance on: September 22, 2025, 02:04:00 PM
I don't see a connection between current Bitcoin investments and the author's concerns about job stability due to AI development. If you currently have a good income and you can afford to invest in Bitcoin, perhaps you should consider acquiring a specialty that's very difficult to replace with a robot. Spend the money on retraining. In fact, there are plenty of such specialties. If you don't yet have an income that allows you to make good investments, not just pennies, then how will you create a secure future for yourself? I think you understand that it's difficult to provide unemployment insurance with small savings, especially when AI is already nipping at the heels of many professionals.
9  Economy / Reputation / Re: AI Spam Report Reference Thread on: September 22, 2025, 01:05:37 PM

My suspicion arose because he deleted the post that was discovered, so I thought he used AI and modified it in AI too, maybe he has a paid account to make it look organic

I sent reports to the moderators, and they removed his posts. I doubt he did it himself. And yes, each of his long, verbose posts, each saying practically the same thing, seems like he's carefully proofreading his posts but using the AI as a template. Until we find 100% of the errors, we'll keep seeing this kind of work. I can't say it's particularly annoying; there are plenty of similar posts on the forum, and their authors can simply be ignored.
10  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: How to protect your Bitcointalk account from getting hacked. on: September 22, 2025, 12:42:28 PM

OP wants to help newcomers at an early stage of their interaction with the forum, so that when they become legendary, mistakes made during registration do not lead to the loss of an account years later. Although these tips can be used not only by beginners, but also by holders of other ranks, if for some reason they did not take care of the safety of their account earlier.

That's right. There have been many stories of high-ranking accounts being hacked. If you dig through the history, you'll see that some were redirected to a phishing link that mimicked a forum. People clicked what appeared to be a legitimate forum link, but the next step was to log out and re-enter their password. It's a fairly simple way to hijack an account. Therefore, I would add a warning to the OP's post: never trust any links, and be wary even of those you think you trust who send you a supposedly useful forum link. That's exactly how phishing works.
11  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: not-a-luxury casino on: September 22, 2025, 11:53:09 AM
There are no casinos in my country to visit, so I have no choice but to use online casinos. However, I would definitely see a casino that offers all the services for a comfortable stay, with a relaxing atmosphere, music, and the kind of people I find intriguing. Speaking of comfort in general, yes, I will visit very convenient places, since in casino games and all similar establishments, I see entertainment as the primary goal, and only then any financial gain.
12  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 🎰 Slots reminder:playing longer doesn’t mean you’ll get luckier. on: September 22, 2025, 10:39:23 AM
I witnessed someone who had just sat down at a slot machine win literally within minutes. Then he chased his luck, but ultimately lost everything he had. I've learned to play for a certain amount of time. The saying "the more you play, the closer luck comes to you" doesn't apply. On the contrary, it reminds me of a walking donkey with a carrot dangling in front of it. It will keep going as long as it can see the carrot. Slot games are somewhat similar, unless you stop in time.
13  Economy / Economics / Re: Fake it til you make it? on: September 21, 2025, 11:04:16 AM
If a rich person has achieved success in their business honestly, without deceiving anyone, without inheriting their wonderful life from their parents, they will certainly be an example for me, and I see them as a motivator for my own further growth. However, not everything is as rosy as it seems; many achieve their success by the wrong path or are so vain that they have achieved nothing in life, only inherited something from their parents. Is there any reason for me to emulate them? Not at all. I understand that not everyone in this world is destined to be rich, but for me, achieving wealth independently, through education and experience, is very important. In fact, wealth is a very different concept for everyone. Some people with millions are so greedy that they want more and more money, while others feel perfectly content with little but consider their lives self-sufficient.
14  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The rich is hugely favoured in gamble. on: September 21, 2025, 05:09:09 AM
I was having a conversation about gambling with two young men and one of them said gambling is not for the poor people, that it has the proclivity to favour rich people much than with the poor, and the examples he gave  made me to come close to endorsing his interpretation.

You were right in your conclusions. First and foremost, gambling is a game, and in any game, we assume there must be one winner, and not everyone is expected to win regularly. In short, gambling is a risk. Who will take fewer risks? Those who know that even after losing a certain amount, their needs will remain unaffected. It's not hard to guess that wealthy people always find it easier to cope with the stress of losing. The sad thing is that people desperate for money are sometimes so irresponsible that, instead of looking for additional income, they mistakenly consider gambling a way to make a profit while losing everything they have.
15  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: [POLL] Was gambling a reason for you to discover Bitcoin / cryptocurrencies? on: September 21, 2025, 04:56:27 AM
I learned about Bitcoin a long time ago, well before I even heard about the forum. At the time, I was offered to pay for some services with it. The fact is, I knew nothing about it, only saw a lot of zeros, and so I didn't delve into its further uses. Perhaps if I'd learned a little more about it, at least that I could play in a casino, I would have definitely agreed and played. However, online gambling only recently became a passion for me, after spending some time on the forum. I started trying it out here on the forum out of curiosity, and naturally, I learned about crypto first by coming here and spending some time trying to play with crypto.
16  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: 1xBet exposed on: September 21, 2025, 04:40:44 AM
It's noteworthy that this trio of casino owners was reported on in Russian news back in 2020.
https://life.ru/p/1350170

Apparently, these billionaires owned hypermarkets across the country and swindled millions, defrauding not only Russians but also anyone who ever played at their casinos. The fact that they managed to find influencers isn't surprising; there's always someone who can be bought. It's encouraging that the forum isn't involved in their scams, but we've witnessed that some people don't really care what they advertise; their most important concern is their own safety and the money they'll make.
17  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Is it a cultural thing? on: September 21, 2025, 04:21:27 AM
I also read some statistics summarizing women's gambling habits. Typically, in places where gambling is legal and there are a few offline casinos, women are also frequent visitors. Perhaps not all women are big gamblers; I think a lot depends on their wallets and resources, but we must accept that any addiction: alcohol, drug addiction, and gambling, is always more difficult to treat in women, as the female psyche is very different from that of men, and women become addicted much faster than men.
18  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Life and what else on: September 21, 2025, 04:06:07 AM
I find it difficult to call myself a gambler, so I need to think about what would captivate me enough to make a bet like this, one that requires a choice. Definitely, anything that speaks to life, family, and animals isn't something I should bet on. Anything vital to my life also wouldn't be on the list of things I could easily lose. Perhaps I'd bet my car, some fairly expensive items, or things that can easily be replenished over time. However, to make such a bet, I'd have to be certain the game is worth it.
19  Economy / Economics / Re: Investing in Bitcoin or physical trading? on: September 20, 2025, 06:33:06 AM
I must say, you have rather ambitious plans to achieve in just a year of investing in Bitcoin. Judging by your publication history, you come from a poor family, meaning your Bitcoin investments, even with some profit, wouldn't be enough to build an entire oil refinery. Likewise, knowledge of your country (your publication preferences also reveal this), your standard of living, and your salary could also be an obstacle to such grandiose plans. However, on the internet, we can dream and imagine ourselves as anything we want. They say thoughts become reality. Keep moving towards your dreams; perhaps one day we'll hear about you in the news.
20  Economy / Reputation / Re: Unique spammer or what? on: September 20, 2025, 05:29:56 AM
It's good to know that he was nuked already.

Is there a need for further discussion on this topic?
