1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] X13 BoostCoin █ First ever x13 PoW/PoS █ ~950 BTC Volume in 24 hrs! on: May 30, 2014, 10:29:36 AM
Price will adapt to this.
i remember people not being patience when x11 coin was stuck at 15k for a while

And I likewise remember when BlackCoin dropped from 3k to 500. It seemed like a dead coin.

The PoW phase is running faster that expected due to the massive uptake of the coin. Since the 19th May relaunch date we are now about 50% of the way through the PoW phase.

Remember the PoW will end at block 43200, after that mining will not be possible and the coin will go to 100% PoS

Is it possible that the PoW phase is going faster because PoS is constantly generating blocks?
If so, there will only be around half as many (depending on how the coin is set up) coins generated from PoW as you were expecting.

We all know that the Multipool's going to do great things for BlackCoin, once it's released. However, I don't think everyone realizes how much of a difference it's going to make.

The numbers thrown out for yesterday's (March 19, 2014) mining ranged from 10GH/s to nearly 400GH/s. It's quite safe to assume that the massive dropoff near the end was caused by the frontend issues the site was having (for those that weren't there, the miner pages were entirely inaccessible for the latter portion of the "launch"). Because of that, I'm going to make a somewhat conservative (depending on how you look at it) estimation of 200GH/s if the pool was as polished as the new version is reported to be.

If that 200GH/s was maintained for a solid 24 hour period, that would net somewhere in the neighborhood of $500,000 and $1,000,000 worth of altcoins, according to http://www.coinwarz.com/cryptocurrency. Let that sink in for a second. BlackCoin's current market cap is roughly $1,300,000. That's a ton of buy orders.

The frontend should have been sorted and working for this re-launch.

In most cases it should've been, but this is one man doing all the work.

What about a rig rental site lite betarigs where only payment accepted is in blackcoins.

I like this idea, but it would take far more work and investment to set up than a mutlipool site, so it'd have to wait until after that is fully established.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | on exchanges | PoS | No premine on: March 08, 2014, 02:16:57 AM
if you want something to mine with alot of Buy support. Come join me on pot.ogres.org. There is 10btc worth of pot buy orders currently. and with BC at a 2:1 ratio with POT. Each pot coin is worth 2 BC.

I'm personally mining Zeit for this purpose. It has much less potential than POT, but it's more profitable at the current difficulties.

iGotSpots, it's been quite a while since anybody cared about Spots, based on this thread. It's your responsibility to try to bring it back to life.

Are you even going to try?
8  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | on exchanges | PoS | No premine on: March 03, 2014, 10:23:02 PM
The top holder of BC is actually moving it out.  You can see the decrease.  If he/she is dumping, the price will fall even more.

Isn't it possible that, as someone said previously in this thread, the top few are just the exchanges?
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | on exchanges | PoS | No premine on: March 02, 2014, 05:20:04 PM
Ugh it only takes like 8 bitcoin worth of buy orders to push us sky high! We need more people interested in this coin. Sadly, since it's not being mined anymore, it doesn't get any more exposure...

It takes the piss really when shitcoins like Ruby are somehow worth more on the exchanges https://www.cryptorush.in/index.php?p=trading&m=RUBY&b=BTC

Have you ever mined Ruby? Each coin takes quite a bit of mining to get, to the point that having over 100 is equiv to having thousands of Blackcoins. Ruby is absolutely worthless in comparison to Blackcoin.
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | on exchanges | PoS | No premine on: March 02, 2014, 12:21:31 AM
Quick question:

Does the 8 hour requirement on PoS mining refer to the time that a wallet's been continuously open, or does it mean that a wallet has to have had coins in it for 8 hours to start mining?
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BlackCoin (BC) | on exchanges | PoS | No premine on: March 01, 2014, 03:06:21 PM
I feel like at least a few people have already asked and answered this question in the past few dozen pages, but this is something I'd really like to figure out:

With an annual stake interest of 1%, if I start out the year with 1000 BC, will I have 1010 BC by the end of the year?
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [SPOT] | SUCCESSFUL FORK COMPLETE - On CoinPayments.net/Cryptsy/Coins-e on: February 21, 2014, 01:53:32 PM
Spots still hovering around 2200. Good.
My plan was for the new low for selling price to be at 2000-2200.
I noticed the pump from days before and it shot up, then went back down so fast.
I don't think it's quite a good thing for SPOTS if it shoots up so high and so fast like that tbh. Should be more slow and gradual.

I don't think that I have the whole picture, but I get the feeling that the failure of the pump to 5000 was caused more by the "rat" Desten has been referring to than any problems with the market.
Perhaps it's been a combination of both effects.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [SPOT] | SUCCESSFUL FORK COMPLETE - On CoinPayments.net/Cryptsy/Coins-e on: February 20, 2014, 08:04:45 PM
Glad to see this coin slowly start to come alive again.

I don't like the difficulty jumps; there is still too much swing.

Maybe at a fork down the road we can go to a +/- 1% swing like the other good alt-coins.

The difficulty jumps and changes are so fucking awesome. Seriously. I like how it fucks over the Multipools. Mine pools are the reason coins like Leaf and Moon get fucked over and freeze up the market to big time lows (apart from whale manipulation doing that). It seems Spots was on to something really good with it and miners who really care about the coin and investors like myself don't get fucked over as much. It seems to work similar as Gravity Well that those coins want to add in order to resist the Multipools Smiley

Yeah. I trust Spots will keep doing what he was doing and I hope I'm buying in low for a nice ride to da moon.

Here's the problem... the difficulty jumps are mostly keeping the Multipools away, but they're also slowing down the block rate to around 100 per day, rather than the intended 1234.
Even CoinWarz's measly estimation of $2 per Mh/s per day is more than one would actually get.

Woah shit. Good thing I own at least 23,000 spots.

Thanks for the reply. I guess I'll just keep holding for now then. I have noticed value has slowly been rising. I figured it is under value as well due to low trade volume.

We've seen values above 20,000 satoshis before.
I'm not saying that I expect it to hit that point again, but that just illustrates how badly undervalued Spots are currently.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [SPOT] | SUCCESSFUL FORK COMPLETE - On CoinPayments.net/Cryptsy/Coins-e on: February 17, 2014, 02:37:42 PM
Quick question, now it seems the blocks are moving, but still 50 blocks between 79257 and 79307 nearly 9 hours.
50 blocks should take just under 1 hour, or is it not aiming to be 70 seconds per block anymore?

It's odd, that... it was obviously happening before the fork too, but in that case, it was running on the same code which had previously hit the 70 sec time quite consistently.

love the coi nbut lack of working pools is killing me.

I'm using ckoeber's pool, http://spotspool.chriskoeber.com/ . It's up to date and works quite well.

OK, it's awesome that we've officially hit the hardfork, but I'm having the same problem as djmuk.

On a separate topic, how is it that the difficulty of block 78992 went up by a factor of four (to 13.53539526) after the previous block, 78991 (diff 3.38384881) , took fourteen hours to find?

EDIT: Removing the bad addnodes and adding in
Code:
addnode=54.201.183.106
addnode=72.78.100.12
resulted in the error going away and the block sync bar appearing, but it's stuck at 12 blocks left (79902 downloaded)

SWKineo, you working on it (site)?
I know who dumps now. Know for sure. This man was in our group. He turned out as awful creature and scum. He decided to make money on others in group. He is a rat. Moscow vile creature. And i see that he reads this topic. Now i'm 100% sure.
Do not fall for his provocation if you believe in this coin and wish it to skyrocket. Do not let him buy back coins that he spent for dump. It's craziness to sell coin that are very rare, very hard to mine, eats so much electricity to mine one block. You decide, but think of that. There are not so much coins mined and will be total, block reward is not so big. It's not litecoin or doge, but it can be traded much-much higher.
Hello, moscow bastard!

Eh... I was just repeating a possibly inaccurate piece of information from back in mid January.

Believe me, I haven't sold since Spots were worth 18579, and I've bought back nearly ten times the total amount I've ever sold. I understand the potential value of the coin. However, I can not understand who your post was aimed at, or what you were trying to demonstrate by alluding to them as a character rather than as a real person.

I think with luck most of the multipools will be on the old fork(s) and thus won't be able to capitalize.
They will see after few blocks that something wrong and will update their wallets.. And will jump in and out again.
To protect coin from multipools there must be twice or triple miners power more than all jumping multipools together.
Now we at price point 15'000-130'000 times lower than doge... 130 thousand times (!) lower. It's a crazy number.
Coin need good PR. Very good and strong PR.

The new site's supposedly going up this month. At the very least, that should make the coin easier to find and more appealing.

With any luck, the difficulty algorithm will see how long it took to find 79992 and set the diff super low. We just have to hope that multipools won't jump on at that point.
