1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: What coins are about to explode? on: September 13, 2018, 01:57:12 AM
Right now I would pick Pundix, they create pos machines that allow retailers to accept a range of crypto currencies. And they have already shipped several thousand units. This project has the best shot taking crypto mainstream and therefore the clear N1 for me.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Just RELAX, it will be OK! on: September 13, 2018, 01:50:05 AM
When the prices are increasing we are very happy and in the same way, while the market is struggling we have to be happy because every time it is not possible to get profit. When the market is in fluctuation we have to be very strong by not selling them for cheap prices.

If the market fluctuations are killing you and give you sleepless nights then you have to ask if this is the right market for you or if you maybe should play with smaller amounts moving forward. And always keep some one the side to buy the dips.
3  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Etherum 176 $ :o waaaw ?!?!?! on: September 13, 2018, 01:45:23 AM
Looks like big institutions will come in really soon . Did watch really great video about whats to happen . Does not mean its true lol , but worth to watch . Check it out https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IkVyyVbKysw . If its kinda true , then we will see some movement soon

This guy actually is fun to watch and he makes a lot of sense too. The current prices are completely irrelevant, what matters is what is going to happen to this space in the future. And the future is bright. Even if things get further delayed with the SEC, it is only a question of when, not if they are going to approve ETFs.
4  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Bull run can be surprising? on: September 13, 2018, 01:32:32 AM
It will be lovely if we can see a bull run now, I think we have been experiencing a bear market for a long time, the market now is up and down in unpredictable way, and who knows once the bull run it can trigger another big hype like last year, but up until now I am a bit pessimistic, because few times when the bull wanted to happened, it being dragged down again, hopefully the etf could bring positive news to the market

I think the big money is already eager to get into the market and many institutional investors are waiting what is going to happen on the regulation front. We had a recent bull run but it did not sustain due to the ETF delay. Now the market does not really believe the ETFs are going to be approved, too many rejections and delays...but if it were to be approved, nothing is impossible then.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Current cryptocurrency market situation on: August 16, 2018, 08:47:29 AM
The bad news from the ETF and some expectations swayed the market. However, for the first time in a long time, Bitcoin did not hesitate due to security concerns during the uptrend. When Bitcoin ascended to the present day, a hacking news emerged and everything was reversed. Let's look at the last ETF statement. This ETF is the strongest and the anticipator will price Bitcoin upwards. We can see 10K level again in two week if ETF will affect BTC price. Or we will go down again.

I also think the ETFs have the biggest impact on the market currently. Maybe not so much for the average retail investor but institutions that are probing the market but rather hesitanting as there need to be more clearity regarding regulation. What are the odds it is going to be approved in September?
6  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: I CHOSE BITCOIN INVESTMENT OVER BANK INVESTMENT on: August 16, 2018, 08:44:06 AM
Knowing the crypto world was the best thing I have ever done. Today I was given an amount of $20000 by my uncle to make an investment for him at the bank so that by the end of the year he can get some additional money added to his capital. I sat down and calculated and found out that, investing at the bank will give him just $2000 interest.

I then called him and explain to him about cryptocurrency and how secured it is with evidences and it price increment for last year. After seeing it he told me to invest that amount into BITCOIN and I have done it for him. I know that is volatile and can fluctuate but I made time to explain to him that although the market is red now but when the green days come he will get not less thank $25000 added to his capital. I know I did the right thing and he will surely laugh some days to come. What do you think guys?

Well done convincing your uncle to bet on the future than the past. I still would think about splitting the amount and put 50% in conservative investments and 50% in Crypto. In the worst case he has some opportunity costs but giving the volatility and the long duration of the bear market, your Uncle might sleep better if not all of his investment is in Crypto.
7  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you think that other coins move faster? on: August 16, 2018, 08:38:45 AM
Do you think that Bitcoin has become too slow to compete with the relatively quick alt coins out there? Is it realty competitive to have a slow community rather than a centralised decision making in development?

In other words, does the community effect of decentralisation enough to counterbalance the difficult decision making processes?

When there is more supply for new altcoins, the price of coins tends to rise very fast. Another variable that can make coins move faster than Bitcoin is their market capitalization, coins with lower ratings can have room to grow because of low market capitalization. Lower market capitalization with public interest is likely to move much faster than Bitcoin.

I noticed the same. Bitcoin was dragging the whole market down but ALTs moved with much higher Beta. Ergo, BTC rises and ALTs rise proportionally higher. While Bitcoin moved up around 8% in one day many alts saw price appreciation in double digits. Pearl even went up 45%, but it was also bleeding a lot more before..
8  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Five Reasons to Impact Bitcoin Prices on: August 16, 2018, 08:31:31 AM
-BTC 5/8 price is trading at 7000 USD / BTC, down 6,9% , market capitalization is 127 billion USD and cash flow is over 17 billion dong according to Coinmarketcap. The BTC's non-braking slope also caused the entire altcoin to turn on red lights. Most notably, TRON's Justin Sun recently featured prominently including Tron's recent acquisition of BitTorrent and uTorrent, the launch of Tron Virtual Machine (TVM), and a secret project later announced as the Project Atlas) but still swept the wave of the market.
-Five reasons are thought to be the biggest impact on BTC pricing:
+HitBTC reported hardware failure: The recent tight control on the HitBTC trading floor caused the inhibition of the user community causing the BTC market to suffer a psychological blow after this incident.
+Bitcoin ETF was denied the license by the SEC. This is considered a major factor causing Bitcoin to drop immediately and causing the market to fluctuate sharply in the past few weeks.
+Korea taxed the digital exchanges. This news has caused a gloomy atmosphere for the whole market including BTC
+The recent virtual trading on the BitForex trading floor, a deal on Coinmarketcap, has raised concerns about market manipulation, a loss of confidence in electronic money transactions.
+Bitcoin's trading profile has changed, noting that the cash flow was flowing back from the altcoins into Bitcoin and Tether (USDT). Indexes for the movement of funds include Bitcoin dominance of market capitalization, up to 48%. In addition, the USDT transaction now accounts for more than 21% of the total volume of the electronic money market.

This is a very good summary and I also think all of these events contributed to the massive price decline in recent days. Which one do you think had the single biggest impact? I tend toward the ETF delay but maybe I am biased as this was constantly talked about. After all, this decision affected only the US market which is certainly less relevant than the Asian regions. What are your thoughts?
9  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is the Lightning Network centralized? on: August 16, 2018, 08:25:53 AM
Some say that the Lightning Network is centralized, but from my point of view, it's still a decentralized solution to scale Bitcoin as anyone would be able to run a Lightning node at will. The huge advantages that it provides for Bitcoin such as dirt-cheap fees, and instant transactions would be too hard to ignore to implement in the future.

However, if the Lightning Network turns out to become a centralized solution for Bitcoin (like many claims it will), then it would be doomed as only those with a lot of wealth and power would be able to participate in this ecosystem.

What are your thoughts about this? Is Lightning really centralized? Or Decentralized? Huh

Honestly, to date I still don't understand about the character of Lightning-Network, Is it Centralized or Decentralized? But I have heard, that Lightning-Network is very good to implement especially for transaction purposes. By utilizing Lightning-Network, reportedly can carry out transactions with the cost of ZERO (but whether or not it's true or not). And I also heard the bad news, that by utilizing the Lightning Network it was rumored that it could damage the bitcoin ecosystem (this too, I didn't know the truth).

I also have difficulty following this debate regarding centralized vs decentralized. But since there are some people with deep knowledge maybe someone can explain what seems to be the problem with adoption. The last time I read an update about lightning there were only a few vendors that had it implemented. Is that such a hurdle from a technical point of view or what seems to be the slow adoption?
10  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: 7 things to know about EOS on: August 16, 2018, 07:58:48 AM
Did any of you actually read the article? How you can read that and still be bullish on EOS is utterly beyond me.

It is completely centralized. The Block Producers hold complete dominion over the blockchain, and can freeze your accounts, reverse your transactions and even confiscate your funds as they please, without having to justify their actions or even give a reason. There is nothing you can do about this. EOS is inflationary - they are constantly printing more tokens to "award" the Block Producers, meaning your tokens are constantly being devalued.

If you hold EOS, you are literally losing money for the privilege of someone else having power over your tokens. It's a complete embarrassment to crypto, and an embarrassment to be invested in it.

One of the best articles I have read about EOS, it ticks almost all the boxes that enables it to become a real Etheteum Contester. I share some concerns that were voiced regarding some red flags as the issues during the main net launch, the weak participation rate and especially the centralised structure. I also prefer coins that have a burning rate instead an inflation, even though it is only 5% per year. I think the probability that the price appreciates more than 5% in the following years is high, that should balance the inflation out. I think ut’s a fair trade off considering there are no transaction costs. I am aware it is not perfect but I don’t see any other next gen dApps platform that is in the same league. Which one is better in your view and why?
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Smart money is buying cheap ALTs like Cardano! on: August 16, 2018, 07:31:10 AM
I also believe that ADA is a very good coin and now have the opportunity to purchase this coin. Also now you can buy EOS, as it is a promising coin and costs only 4.32 dollars.

If I had the choice between ADA and EOS I would pick EOS without thinking twice. It has the best shot being the next Ethereum while ADA‘s main net is not going to launch before next year from what I know. Short term it could be interesting for trading as Coinbase plans to list it, but long term EOS seems to be the safer bet.
12  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: What crypto currencies to buy? on: August 16, 2018, 07:26:59 AM
Hey guys, I have 300$, not a lot of money I know, but still, can you give some recommendations what crypto currencies should I buy? I think it is a perfect time to invest.

You can buy EOS,ETH,NEO and ADA that's my suggestion to you. These altcoins has a potential to give you a huge profit  from it.

In the current downtrend alts are suffering most, but EOS, ETH and NEO are probably the safest bets as they play a large role in the current and future infrastructure of blockchain projects. ADA is lightyears away from having a working product though...would be careful with „research projects“ in this climate, they are getting crushed.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coins kept in exchange, are they safe? on: August 16, 2018, 07:13:35 AM
Exchanges are meant for trading the coins, it is not for storing the coins. I hope if you show interest towards trading then you can move your fund from wallets to exchanges. If you don't have any experience better move them to your wallets only. For everything, there is risk involved in it.

If someone has a cold storage and rarely trades I see the point not exposing your token to unneccessary risks. But if someone has no cold storage just private keys and trades often it can make sense to leve a fraction of your token on exchanges, especially if they are secure ones. Cobinhood has 97% in cold storage. If you trade a lot and have to transfer your tokens constantly to the exchange and back to your wallet, don‘t you think there is some vulnerability too? Someone could spoof your key, you could make a mistake and send an token to the wrong wallet (Erc-20 token to Bitcoin Wallet). I think a lot depends on your personal preferences and your skills.

Ideally everyone had a cold storage at home of course  but most do not from what I hear so far.
14  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Coins kept in exchange, are they safe? on: August 16, 2018, 03:01:12 AM
Wow, that's a bad idea that you do.
Don't save your Bitcoin for a long time in the Exchange wallet.
Because the Exchange is very vulnerable in its security hack by hackers.

Be careful friends.

I have some coins on exchanges and feel pretty safe, but I am only using Binance and Cobinhood and these are exchanges that have more than 90% in cold storage. From Cobinhood I know they have even 97% in cold storage.

So I don't think it's black and white...it depends which exchanges you use, how often you are trading and what the alternatives are. Most people I know don't have a Nano Ledger at home, just have their token on MyEtherWallet...and this one has been hacked several times. At least it is easier to hack then secure exchanges Binance or Cobinhood.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it better to buy during ICO or Market? on: August 16, 2018, 02:55:35 AM
It depends on the coin. If the coin is really selling like hotcakes right from the start, then you better not wait for it to get listed on exchanges. And then there are actually projects that are very anticipated and even if the ICO has not yet even began, people are already eagerly waiting for it. With a project like this, I would not prefer buying it on the exchanges. I would rather buy it during the ICO because it is already a trusted coin and then I will also be receiving a certain percentage as bonus in addition

But how many projects have been selling as hotcakes in the last half year? I only know a handful top of my head like Quarkchain or Sharder, but it seems 99 out of 100 get dumped at the exchanges, especially in the recent 3 months it was brutal.
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PRE-ICO] [MVP] Buddy | Decentralized Development Automation Platform on: August 16, 2018, 02:43:25 AM
This looks indeed quite interesting but I also discovered some red flags. On Icobench there are several experts who give this project the lowest possible ranking for one reason. Apparently they dumped all their advisors at the same time which seems very fishy, something seems to be going on here that is not right. Anyone knows more about this?

For the time being I will stay away until these clouds are cleared. I am much more confident about Metahash (see signature).
Metahash is one of the top projects of Ian Balina, he recently also joined their advisory board...save as an ICO can be.

Still would be interested what is going on with the Buddy project...
17  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Cash vs Bitcoin, which is better? on: July 21, 2018, 02:02:14 PM
Why people still believe that Bitcoin Cash (BCH) is better than Bitcoin (BTC)?
We know that BCH came from BTC forking, why should we believe that the duplicate one is better than the one created from scratch?

What do you guys think?

I think it is totally stupid way of thinking. Reasons why bitcoin is 100x better than bitcoin cash are so obvious that there is no point in discussing them. Bitcoin is a creator so no coin will be better, especially that weak coin like btc cash

Why do you think Bitcoin Cash is such a weak coin? I would also prefer to invest in Bitcoin rather in one of the many forks but if you look at the facts, on paper Bitcoin Cash looks really good, not talking about the transaction speed/costs but the fact that it is able to do smart contracts in the future is a big leap forward, don't you think?
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: TRON is a shitcoin or a potential valuable coin? on: July 21, 2018, 01:54:23 PM
Do you really believe that a "shitcoin" can make it to the top of the coin market cap? Tron is a real blockchain just like Ethereum that can run ICOs in the future, these are the fundamentals you need to look at rather than discussing whether it's a shit coin. It has advanced tech over Ethereum but so many other high tech blockchains are getting ready, so it is hard to tell how Tron will be holding up against those, but it is certainly not a shit coin, quite the opposite.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: why is the value of bitcoin high last night. on: July 21, 2018, 01:50:47 PM
before I sleep I noticed increased the bitcoin value to some some tokens I do not know why. !!
What do you mean by increasing market value?

Blackrock decided to look into providing ETFs for their customers that are based on Crypro Currencies. In my opinion that was the main reason for the price spark. But they cannot make that decision before the SEC hearing in August. Therefore the markets went up and are now moving back until this get's some confirmation. If that happens, in other words if the SEC approves that crypto based ETF can be traded on (non crypto) exchanges this could spark the next bull run.
20  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is it better to buy during ICO or Market? on: July 21, 2018, 11:52:48 AM
In the last 3 months, no project has been profitable. I think it's the most logical exchange. I'm on the buy now exchange

Same here, all ICOs I invested in were below the ICO price when they hit the exchanges. Even quality projects on the NEO platform like Bridge protocol. Currently trading at 1/10 of ICO price. On top your money gets locked for months...I only do exceptional ICOs like Sparkster, but otherwise buy on the exchange.
